Would you play or heavily anticipate a Gundam-themed MOBA?
>Would you prefer it be UC-Centric or Free-for-All AU representation?
>Would you like Pilots AND their machines for the voicelines or just the machines for the broadest selection of suits and variety?
>Would you prefer it be styled after classic-style MOBAs? (LoL, HotS, Dota) Or more like newer-style MOBAs? (Pokemon Unite, Gekishin Squadra)
>Pic semi-unrelated
>For Fun, Design your favorite Mobile Suit's Ability Kit and Passive(s)
>>
No because MOBAs are already past their prime nowadays. Their heyday is long gone. If Bamco put this out they'd shut it down a month later.
>>

I'd probably enjoy for a bit it if it's closer to HotS but it would inevitably catch the esports aids, ruin fun for everyone and die in a year.
>>
>>23784129

I dunno about that, Gekishin Squadra and Pokemon Unite are doing really well when I ask people about them, why wouldn't a Gundam MOBA do the same kind of success likewise?
>>
>>23784172
even if gundamu is a "big franchise", it's nowhere near those two
the fanbase that wants to play video games based on their favorite cool robot anime is a lot more niche; a MOBA would probably be aiming more towards the 4-figure crowd of GBO2 players instead of League of Legends
>>
>>23783897
No, I don't like MOBAs. A hero shooter was nad enough already.
>>
No. I don't enjoy MOBAs, or ASSFAGGOTS as they're more properly known. I will say that Gundam Evolution fucked. Way better than OW or Rivals, I have no regrets about spending money on it.
>>
Dota is the only moba worth a shit.

>>23784244
>ASSFAGGOTS
low skill detected.
>>
>>23783897
i have no idea, but i had way more fun with gunevo than i should have. it was a game that didn't need to exist, couldn't exist for long, but was pretty fucking fun sometimes for the brief window of time it lived
>>
>>23784353
Gunevo was a fun game that was utterly ruined by poor monetization.
>>
ASSFAGGOTS is just a gay and retarded version of RTS for lobotomized faggots. I'd never play one regardless of the skin you put on it. Make it a real RTS and I'll consider it, assuming it has a proper campaign and isn't trying to be gay esports.

>Pokemon Unite are doing really well when I ask people about them
I tried mobile mobas and can only say they float purely on gacha bullshit
Moba for babies just doesn't work. The format is designed to be slow, intricate and knowledge rewarding. When devs just keep powercreeping to sell new units and balance updates are dubious at best things just feel so fucking shitty after a while.
Not to mention china tactics of making half your ranked games bot matches so retards don't feel bad about a loss streak.

You mentioned two of THE biggest franchises in history that will have people eating it up despite how garbage the core gameplay is.
Say what you want about Omega Strikers but I think it was a step in the right direction for innovative mobas. The lobby lag and them adding roguelike item system murdered all my interest but it was really fun at first. But 3v3 games were too intense for public mm, if you had 1 player not up on their game it was just a miserable time all around. In 5v5 or 6v6 when 1 or 2 players are ass you can reasonably compensate.

I still like mobas in principle but they're either so dumbed down that it feels like the game plays itself or the entry learning is too high for my self inflicted adhd.
I'd love to get back into a moba but the learning curve just isn't worth it for the kind of people I get matched with. I used to enjoy bants but after 20 years of online games I'm just burned out on interactions.

>micro manage planet defensors to create barriers that block attacks and slow/damage enemies that touch them
>apply shields to teammates and self
>close-range attacker
>designate areas for vayeate fire support

An actual top-down moba could open some interesting pathways.
Direct funnel control could make a lot of units interesting.

I've been thinking that I really want a game where you can control a squad of grunts and have them equal a gundam.
Like having no designated army limit but instead of a point system. Go into a game with a squad of 5 zakus or 1 Gundam.
Imagine if GBO2 loadout mattered besides stacking shit like beam resist or making it so your knees dont break on the first shot. Customize your grunt squad to give them different niches to take on big threats. Agile scout units to screen and harass, gain sight for your artillery units (which can realistically be a lot of units, not just shit like guntank)
Not nearly enough games where you get to take on gundams as an actual squad of grunts. And I'm not even just speaking about moba/rts on this point. Asymmetrical pvp has a lot of potential.

I do not want to play any gundam game that is just another game with a gundam skin on it.

I want to play gundam games that are designed to be game about giant fighting robots.

There's already an arena-battle Gundam game that worldwide people want to play right here and yet Scamco choose to lock it behind the arcade for decades.
>>
>>23784353
You can still play it actually. Terminal autists revived it.
>>23784384
Less bad than Overwatch but worse perceived.
>>
>>23783897
Only if it every MS has a Haro version skin that's playable in game.

EXVS gameplay just doesn't look appealing to me at all.
All the basics of movement look extremely unnatural and the routine seems the same in every video I've watched.
The constant jump dash pause repeating, fishing with ranged hits, dashing in for a melee attack and then canceling back to jump dash miss again.
Finally something connects and then you combo for half their health.

Every time I've said this I've gotten people mad at me and tell me to "get good" but they never explain the intricacies I'm so clearly missing.
I know combos are fighting game fundamentals but doing 70% of someone's health in one go constantly just seems pretty one sided.
I was always drawn to hero shooters because of the back and forth hit trading and constant action. Dancing around for 3 minutes looking for a chance to solitaire on a guy is just some of the most boring competitive game clips I've ever watched.
>>
>>23784579
Have you ever played any Gundam VS before or did you only watch its replay on internet? because you're describing a very basic surface level that missing out more than half of its experiences.
Moreover, do you even play any competitive game at all instead off just watching someone else playing?

Is it too hard to ask for a realistic mobile suit simulator in the vain of mech warrior

>>23786262
As much as I love MW5, Gundam with MWO's engine is going end up with obnoxious amounts of jumpjet spam and idiots trying to exploit the melee system and a medium mech meta around because they have the turn speed and throttle to stab you
>>
>>23786262
>realistic
even bandai knows that won't sell, the nips aren't into clunky realism

the closest we ever got was the arcade pods for that nearly 20 year old "bonds of the battlefield" gundam game. there was a sequel to that with a simplified arcade cabinet, but that died in 2024
>>
>>23786295
>there was a sequel to that with a simplified arcade cabinet, but that died in 2024
I was in Japan in October of 2025 and it was almost extinct, not even being present at the Gundam arcade in Fukuoka but I did find a working machine in a regular non-Gundam arcade in Tokyo. So as of like 5 months ago it's not quite all the way gone, just extremely rare I guess. Which is weird because it is multiplayer focused so you'd think it'd be all over or literally nowhere, but that's just what I saw
>>
>>23786299
well when I say died, I mean multiplayer service and network updates are discontinued. supposedly the arcade cabinets still work for local play, which would account for the one working machine you found in tokyo

but it makes sense that as a discontinued game cabinet already taken off life-support and left to live out the rest of its life until it dies from component failure, they wouldn't feature it at the side-F arcade since that's supposed to be their best and brightest display of currently supported arcade games
>>
>>23786295
Arcade is generally dying. MOBA fad won't work with Gundam regardless. They are obvious trying to target the west with these types of games

>>23786287
Space combat will be uniquely Gundam and it could be interesting.
>>
>>23786467
>They are obvious trying to target the west with these types of games
Which games, arcade that you said is dying, or moba that you said won't work at all?
>>
>>23786472
MOBA, or Gundam Evolution which was their shot at hero shooters. That's their attempt at Gundam games abroad.
>>
Esports are a huge mistake
>>
>>23790097
Arcade scene is already e-sport since ages ago, but since the jewish industries are late to monetize it hard they need to make up a new term to differentiate for their selected games and control them completely.
