I found it fun that Baku has to search english words to give himself a mission and Sieg playing Shadow of War with the Nightmares. However, his introduction just after setting CODE as the bad guys could not have come at a worse time. Couldn't we have a few episodes of Baku vs CODE before he came in? I get toy sales mandate everything, but at least say Sieg is CODE's top agent or something, instead of introducing an independent agent in a show that already has too many villains. This is exactly the problem Gavv had last year.
Also, really really REALLY hate how easily they are just teaming up with Nox, as if he wasn't also a murderous bastard just like CODE. But I expected it, it's a Takahashi show, murderers and war criminals get more sympathy from him than civilian victims. Sieg is gonna kill a hundred people and by the finale he'll be buddy buddy with the hero cast. More reasons to hate that they keep bringing him back to pull the same old shit he always does.

Not really, Gavv's problem was that the writer sucked at handling several characters at once so she just wanted to kill the villains to get it over with but the producer didn't allow her, and rather than adapting to it she just kept them the same so they just did nothing for long periods of time
Zeztz is closer to Geats where there were way too many villains acting simultaneously which doesn't allow them to get properly developed

I love Tachibana-san, but have to see more of Sieg. Wanna see more wacky wahoo Sieggy before saying I like him.

This episode felt kinda off. The pacing was weird, Dawn's debut fight didn't last long and Baku immediately decides he has to learn everything about this rando that just popped up out of nowhere and that becomes the A-Plot of the episode while something that should be pretty significant like Nox's redemption gets relegated to a B-plot in which they only meet the dude right before the final fight of the episode.

Sieg's a fun character, but he feels like a character that came from an entirely different show, and I don't say this just because of his looks and demeanor, he came pretty much out of nowhere right in the middle of the show, is a third party that isn't affiliated with any of the established factions, and he runs a Fight Club using a bunch of Nightmares he captured off-screen. He also feels like a character made explicitly to make the audience regain interest in the show after the first half's lukewarm reception, with how hard they tried to portray him as COOL and CRAZY on top of hiring Tachibana's actor to play him. At the very least they're giving him some ties to CODE, and him being aware of Baku's premonitory dream is interesting, but I'm worried that they'll use him as an excuse to stall the plot until CODE finally makes their move.

Baku's finally back to being his goofy old self. I did like how he secured his house in case CODE tries to invade it, and how Minami has decided to become his full-time ally now. The Capsem getting upgrades through dupes is cool I guess, but I'm not sure how much they're gonna feature the side forms considering some comments the staff made about wanting to highlight Impact over them.

Aaaand Kureha's benched again, but at least Five hasn't been put out of commision (yet). I think he's definitely gonna get redeemed, since he cares about Kureha enough to confront Three.

The scene with Nasuka highlighted one of the problems I have with the reset, since they're trying to speedrun the side characters' development in a way that feels more shallow and rushed compared to the character arcs of their dream selves.

Nox got one of the easiest redemptions in this franchise and I don't like it, Baku just had to prevent him from doing any of the bad shit he would've done and immediately offered him to join forces. I don't like how Baku's feelings towards him regressed to what they were like in the final episode of Q1, I think he should be much more wary of him considering he knows exactly how far he's willing to go in order to achieve his goals as well as the insane person he's currently working for. I find it funny that the reset made Nem useless here compared to the Plasma arc, since Baku already knows everything about Nox this time around and already made up his mind about helping him without current Nem having to intervene at all.

The fight at the end was really cool, I like how Dawn caught one of Plasma's arrows in mid-air, how he used his sword as a lightning rod to divert Booster's finisher, and how his finisher encases the opponent in an iron maiden. What I didn't like is that Booster finally got used again only for it to once again go straight to the finisher without a proper fight, and then it just jobbed without even properly landing it.

Honestly, while the show has faster pacing now and it's somewhat more entertaining because of that, I don't feel like the second half has been much of an improvement compared to the first. It's still not a great show.

As for Dawn also being privy to future knowledge, that narrows things down to either looping or separate instances of precognition for both him and Baku. I'm leaning towards looping and they're just remembering their iteration since that sets up a more interesting plotline. It'd also allow for Dawn being a parallel to Baku continuing the theme of going too far for your dreams in that Dawn is what happens when you loop too many times or can't get out of one which also plays into the parallels of being a Hikkineet.

Baku's ability was a premonitory dream. Dawn's is similar but is most likely active precognition but it's to a point that it's made it difficult to distinguish what has happened and what has yet to be. Hints from this episode were:

CODE has been dealing with Nightmares for decades, not just since the start of the show. The real discrepancy here is him somehow having Wolf in his possession already when it was seemingly created by The Lady through Nem's powers to serve as a distraction so Nox could destroy Zero's robot body after he woke up.

Dupes were a thing even in the premonitory dream, after Nox erased all his Capsems, Baku pulled brand new copies of all of them including Recovery, when the original was in Nox's possession. It can't be a paradox thing either, because the ones he had upon waking up were the second set, not the ones he got the very first time.

Like:
- The direction is the shit. Whoever is in charge of it is doing a great job. I didn't get bored at any time watching the chapter.
- Cute girls are cute
- The fight was great. The pace was frenetic but somehow everything felt perfectly clear. Not only the choreography was well done, the part where Dante used his sword to divert Baku's quick was pretty creative and unexpected.
That's what a cringe manchild such as myself wants to see in these kinds of shows.

Dislike:

Kids show I know, but that's not the way the kid's show was going until now. It gives me Kabuto flashbacks. I know it won't be as bad but is not very pleasing.

I'm guessing that she's really CODE Number 8. Her life as 8 plus her life as Manami = a cat's nine lives. I don't think she'd be Number 1 because 2 was active 20 years prior and 4 was Baku's old teacher. But Baku being trained to be 7 while his sister is actually 8? And that her role, in reality, has always been that of a handler to Baku as he was unknowingly trained as a lucid dreamer by CODE in order to become Zeztz. In a show with a spy motif, she's the ally who turns out to have been a double-agent the entire time.

There was also Manami confronting Zero when she learned about the base, but we never actually see the confrontation between the two where Zero is supposed to reveal the truth. Considering this happened in the vision Baku had, and how the vision is meant to be filtered through Baku's perception, the reason why Baku didn't see the confrontation is because it went against how he saw both Zero and Manami. And the idea that characters can be different than how they were perceived in the vision applies to her most of all. Plus, there was The Lady attempting to use Manami and get Baku to live a normal life, and how Baku snapped at the thought of his sister being used. It really seems like there's a setup that Manami isn't who Baku thinks she is. She might not even be his sister, but rather CODE implanted the idea she was just like how they erased his memories as a kid.

She was accepting towards Baku when she learned he was a real Agent too, this episode comes right after Baku explained everything he experienced in the dream. The only times she showed she was against Baku being an Agent or something like it in real life where from before he became one (and that whole part of the story wasn't a dream, it's only a dream from the point where he wakes up at the end of episode 1 onwards) and before she learned he was one already, telling him to let dreams just be dreams and nothing more. The premonitory dream shouldn't be any different outside of the events that Baku and possibly Sieg change due to having prior knowledge of the future, as well as whatever events Baku couldn't foresee due to his lack of information about certain things.

Zero said the Zeztz Room was created from Baku's subconscious, it's in a dream-like landscape with a dream moon and everything, and Baku has control over it with him locking up the door CODE Agents went through and his Capsem gacha pulls being determined by his mental state. It doesn't necessarily need to have been set up in the house physically, and it wouldn't make much sense for that to be the case since Minami was surprised when she found it out. Dreams can affect reality, so Baku dreaming about it could've just manifested the room in the real world.

Case 14, when Baku is passed out from being locked in his flashbacks/lightning nightmare, Zero explains to Minami that Baku is a secret agent that fights nightmares. So presumably she isn't working for them in a normal sense since she would likely be more privy to the basics of what's going on with him. You've also got Zero talking down to her later in the episode about how missions can get dirty; probably not something you'd do if you're talking to an active agent in your employ.

That said, it's still possible that she went through dreamer training like Baku did and they just didn't opt to continue with her like Baku since he's the "pet project". And even if she's not consciously a double agent, CODE has shit to wipe memories among other things; it's not impossible for her to be a brainwashed sleeper agent, waiting for 5 to use Shock on her to bring her into service. It also could just be as simple as CODE having done something to Minami to allow them to spy on Baku; just going into her dreams to see what's happening is possible since The Lady mentioned not sleeping to make sure CODE can't get any glimpses into what happened to Nem. There'll definitely be some sort of twist involving Minami and CODE, but active double agent who has been consciously spying on her brother isn't going to be it.

Minami is gonna be the 4th rider. That's all i know. The fact that on the very first scene in her spinoff she did so well in that action scene and handled that gun really well not only made me so fucking rock hard, it means there's more to her than meets the eye... and yeah those cat eyes in the OP are definitely hers, it just fits Miki Yagi's eyes to a T.
