Good episode, not great, but still good. Really wish they had taken more advantage of the post-apocalyptic dream scenario, after the wild initial scuffle it just became a background setpiece for normal action scenes and little else.

Sieg continues to be a fun character and they finally tied him to the plot by revealing he's Agent 1, but even with his background he still feels like a character from a different show. It's interesting to know that he was already a crazy criminal that had been sentenced to 1000 years in prison before CODE experimented on him, I wonder what kind of shit he did and if it had anything to do with the dream world stuff or not since it apparently happened before CODE forced him into their ranks. They also laid it on thick that he's supposed to be dark mirror of Baku.

Speaking of CODE, this episode just made Zero look extremely stupid and incompetent. That gamble he took with Sieg obviously blew up in their faces, and now we know that half their Agents have been going rogue since the start. The convo he had with Three pretty much confirmed my worries that they're just using Dawn to stall the CODE subplot, and that they won't be making their move until Dawn ends his run as the new big villain. At the very least Three is doing some set up for potential Lord power-ups, I hope Five finally gets to do something with that.

Nox's redemption has been pretty eh so far, all they needed to do make him a good guy was to introduce a new more dangerous villain (even though CODE is right there) and have the heroes treat him nicely from the get go. I don't like how quickly they've come to trust him nor how they act like everything's gonna be fine once they help him out, since the previous time they did that he repaid the favor by doubling down on his villainy and making everyone suffer a lot.

I like Minami's heart to heart scenes with Baku a lot. Nem was also kinda useful this week, with her nudging Nox towards redemption a little.

Fujimi and Nasuka have felt more superfluous than normal these past few weeks, which is something I was fearing after the reset. I thought they would use this chance to finally have Fujimi be more involved in Nox's redemption, but so far the focus just has been on the latter's interactions with Baku and Nem just like in the Plasma 2-parter.

I feel like the moment where Baku ditched his role as Agent Seven to take up the identity of Zeztz should've been a much more important and impactful moment than it ended up being, it just felt kinda casual. I think it would've been better if he had done this a few episodes ago when he made his big dramatic resolve to prevent his premonitory dream from happening.

The Wolf Nightmare is still fairly weak despite getting a power-up. I also wish the weekly dreamers were acknowledged again since they're bringing the MoTWs back, but they didn't do it with Wolf here even though his case was plot-relevant.


The action was great as expected of Sugihara, but I'm bummed that we didn't really get much of a fight between Dawn and Catastrom and that the latter just conveniently jobbed to the former right after it was done with Wolf. I hope Catastrom doesn't get relegated to mook clean-up and that it actually puts up a fight with more serious threats in the future.

I still think that the way they've been pacing events and developments in this second half has felt kinda off. The recap episode was a good set-up for Nox's eventual redemption, but then they dropped Dawn on us and he became the big focus of the next episode while the advancing of Nox's redemption was relegated to a B-plot, then in this week they finally gave Nox's redemption a good amount of focus with the Sieg stuff not taking the spotlight so much, but despite the cliffhanger of this week's episode, it seems like Nox's redemption while once again be relegated to a B-plot while Baku fucks around with his sister and unlocks Orderm to finally beat Dawn.

Realistically, they shouldn't be all buddy-buddy with him, since he proved he barely has a sense of honor, even towards those who selflessly lend him a hand, but they're probably gonna go the lazy route of making this Nox somehow be a far better person than the previous one, and since this one technically didn't do anything wrong there's no hard feelings at all, all just to make his redemption much more easier to write.

I wish more emphasis was put on that, with Baku making it clear to him that he'll pulverize him if he ever steps out of line and hurts people. But their interactions so far aren't nearly that tense, Baku just offered to help him out if he promised to not do bad things, and now he's teasing him and acting pretty comfortable around him. It doesn't feel like an uneasy alliance at all, it's like the show just wants to shove the uglier aspects of Nox's character under the rug to make him part of the gang as quickly as possible and without much trouble.

The implication is that Sieg was sentenced before they decided to take him out of prison and do dream experiments on him in order to turn him into an Agent. They didn't imprison him as part of his training, they spared him from serving his full sentence because he proved to be seemingly useful.
