>>23797494I'm confused so they do know Reiji is Gavan, Gavan is looked upon as a divine hero thus Reiji's phrasing about Gavan powers throughout the show, but then because Gavan Destiny deflected (and maybe something about the Gavan prior him due to Death saying he was unfit to be Gavan) the name was tainted which is why WaniPat doesn't really question how a dude from the post office division is the new Gavan?Also this implies that Bushido had feelings when he became Gavan, I wonder if he had been Gavan before due to his 1000-year lifespan

is this worth watching? too early to tell? I just finished episode one and idk man. If I was not watching zetez already I think it would be an easier sell. The costumes and gear look good , emogear looks fucking stupid and the fight scenes are nothing to write home about

>>23798277The first 6 episodes is just case of the week episodic shit. Fighting the same monster literally. Its the same fucking monster suit. This latest episode though was fucking badass. Gavan Death handing everyone their ass and setting up an interesting story. But then sadly it looks like next week we are going back to the episodic case of the week shit with the same monster suit probably. They have the makings of a great show but it feels like they are just falling back to the Sentai episodic style. At least with Sentai we got new monsters of the week. In this its the same fucking crab monster.

Scheduling, controversies, budget, unexpected issues, need to push sales, etc.Though with Toei's current method being producing the show well in advance they don't have as much of that that they can do in smooth ways so having more concrete series plans from the start would probably be a better idea. It'd mostly be down to the producer, though.

Man, I bought the Pladera Neo Gavarian kit cause it was pretty cheap and had a great looking box, and after building it I don't really understand what niche this toy/kit is supposed to fill. It doesn't seem nearly as flexible or pose-able as the minipla, but It also has this terrible issue where anything that moves, like a joint, gradually pushes apart and works itself free, unless you're actively pressing it in while you move it. This is particularly annoying with the hips and arms. Why doesn't this stuff click in place?

Gavan Red's ANGERY circuit lines staying on longer than a second in this episode was pretty neat.

>>23799341no, i have watched like 10 seasons of kamen rider and maybe two seasons of unamerican sentai ( I really like gokaiger but I bounce off most other japanese sentai) Zetez action is extremely inventive with the way they warp reality mid combat. The capsem gimmick also has a nice tactile feel without being too intrusive. The last episode where baku's trad bullet spins the new guy's capsem and triggers his henshin is a great example of what I'm talking about. I quite enjoyed Ryuki's plot but I found that Kabuto had better action scenes, clock up was a good gimmick that focused on fundamentals but in an exaggerated way. One of my all time favorite sentai scenes is the early gokaiger episode where captain marvelous lets a fucking 8 year old morph into the red samurai ranger and try and fight some puttys and the kid fails and cpt just fucking laughs at him- that ain't harlock. Zetez has done a good job of incorporating real fire arms, they have emphasized super strength more than past seasons ( perhaps to appeal to an international audience) and i think the way his lightning form does super speed is above what DC comics has been doing for super speed. What would you say some of the best action scenes in toku are? Or is there a series that stands out on this vector?
>>23799378Nearly every other Reiwa show has better action than Zeztz, and so do Kiva and Wizard. Zeztz's suit actor moves like a sack of potatoes compared to Asai, Nawata and Takaiwa in his prime.CGI effects don't trump a good choreography.
>>23799385I do think Kiva is underrated i quite enjoyed that season. I bounced off wizard in the first 10 episodes. Post some fight scenes I am unconvinced but my opinion might be changed. Good CGI can help alot and zetez clearly has a bigger budget for CGI than seasons before it. I think good writing and direction is more important for a good fight scene than the suit actors.

And the choreographies are part of the direction, but Zeztz doesn't have outstandingly good ones, so the fights have to be carried by the CGI effects more than anything.

Good swordplay and the pinning kick is good. in terms of writing and direction I think this leads to good utilization of CGI instead of purposeless CGI ( IE geats mecha fox form and many other rider vehicles) . The CGI has made their Kaijin more interesting. You are right that they have less of a human element but I don't mind fighting pure evil . I like that they are reusing the kaijin it helps give them more character - i will say that none has really been as distinct as the bomber kaijin
Zeztz's choreography is punchslop. Characters just throw clumsy haymakers at each other and occasionally spin around or jump to one side to "mix it up." It's boring as fuck.
