The Ball does not and cannot carry beam weapons. In its era, it lacks the power capacity to effectively use such weapons. While the Ball is a surprisingly decent platform for what it is, it lacks the protection and maneuverability of true Mobile Suits alongside its lower-level weapons capacity. In Zeta Gundam and onwards some very small machines such as Junior MS can carry beam weapons, but they are uncommonly seen and relegated to second-line use. During the One Year War, fighters with beam weapons were used in the form of the G-Armor or Core Booster; while producing decent results, in general they lack the versatility of mobile suits.
