Is this worth it if I just want a game to kitbash in?

ehhh i guess so, there's a lot of flexibility to do whatever you want with what they give you. You can even set up dioramas and pose them (although much of the diorama props and backgrounds are locked behind DLC).

IMO there could have and should have been more kits but IDK how it compares to past GB games in that regard.

The actual gameplay itself is ass, so much so that it actually makes SD Gundam Battle Alliance look good by comparison.

The game's story is the most generic .hack knockoff imaginable. Millions of other games and anime have done a better job with this exact same format, including Build Divers.

i ended up buying it on sale because it was half off and you were completely right about the combat. its so barebones and samey. i'm a musoufag so i'm used to a level of hack and slash but this is even below the most simplistic musou games in terms of actual gameplay. its sad because the customization is actually really good, i wish there was a game that felt like exvs with this level of ingame kitbashing

I barely noticed a difference between the suit lineup between GB3 and GB4, there's, like, IBO and the full lineup of G Gundam units and of course a handful of stuff from series that weren't aired at the time of GB3 (and I mean, like, maybe 1-3 stuff from shows like Build Divers) but other than that I couldn't tell you what was added and what was reused.

It's alright for customization, but I'd say get GB3 if you actually want a video game.

is 4's combat that much worse than 3's?
>>
>>23802204
3 has a lot more options for base combos with melee weapons since they really wanted you to dual wield in 4, and all of 4's stages are just arena battles while 3 had actual areas you'd move through as you progressed in a stage. Basic mechanics like leveling up parts are also locked behind story progression which is really fucking annoying. It's a lot better than NGB but it's a clear step back from 3 in a few ways.

thanks
at least i definitively know that i won't like 4 now.

No. In fact the actual fighting in 3 feels much slower and worse. Theres also a lot of needless walking through nothing in 3 that 4 cuts out by ditching transition zones, also loses frustrating core missions. 3 combat has better variety but not actual feel

Worth it.

Why can't we just have an Armored Core -like Gundam game with this level of customization?
>>

Not worth it.
