You did play the best Gundam game Zeon Zaku II Space Combat Simulator of 2025 (XOL: Space Mech Wars), right anon?I just beat it, and I give it my official seal of approval. If you enjoy space combat in mobile suits and luuuuuv zaku's (like me), then it's worth a playthrough. For me, it's the charge beam cannon under your assault cannon that I didn't realize existed until mission 10.Kind of similar games: Omega Boost, Gundam Encounters in Space (not really though). Gameplay is 6DOF wasd-strafe space/control-vertical thrust and q/e-roll.
I should add, you play as the same "zaku" suit the entire game, if that's your cup of 'tism
The game is a FPS from inside cockpit, similar to 0079: Rise From the Ashes, which is honestly probably the closest gundam game to this from a gametype perspective. I also really like that every mission starts off with a launch from your carrier. I love little things like that.Hope at least one /m/ro will benefit from this. I learned about it from another anon posting hidden gems on /v/ (thanks /v/ro). There aren't enough mecha games that are actually good, and certainly zero gundam space 6DOF games that reward skill and dodging.
>>23823867aaww no gelgoog, no rick dom, no option to play as federation suits?
>>23823867i misread this and genuinely thought it was a wacky generic zeon pilot sim based on the old PS1 Colony Wars games for some reason.colony wars was alright
Like a lot of indie games I have the demo downloaded on Steam but still never got around to playing it. No idea why. I do want to try it because I remember being kinda disappointed by Strike Suit Zero.
>>23823867I played the demo for a few minutes the other week. It seems neat and has potential, but it started running really slow after a few mins so I closed it out. The art style is different, it reminds me of the early 90s CGI from Command and Conquer cutscenes in a good way.
>>23824007I was pretty disappointed that there weren't more suits to pilot as well. Still being a mecha game fan is to live life as a fish in the desert, ever thirsting for any oasis I can find (especially Gundam or Gundam flavored games). I desperately want more 0079 games like rise from the ashes. Would be cool to get one from a zeon perspective or even a series of the fps cockpit style games in space/land/underwater. Maybe one day we will get a zgok/acguy game.
>>23823867I refuse to play it.
>>23823867did they get rid of the ai voice acting yet
>>23825951Nah, unfortunately the shit ai voice acting is still present. I watched the credits which lasted a whole 5-10 seconds. The team is very small. Still though, the last game I played that was even remotely similar to this game in terms of zero-g mech combat was Heavy Gear 2. The only other game that comes close to Gundam-style zero-g combat on the market right now is Star Citizen. Dogfighting in fighters in that game makes me think of Gundam zero-g combat and it's pvp.
>>23823867I will have to check this out anon. It makes me happy to see omega boost mentioned, I played the shit out of that game when I was a kid.
>>23826853>tfw my original Omega Boost cd is fucked up and the digital version intro doesn't run smoothlyThe OST in Omega Boost was fuckin phenomenal. Some of my personal favs:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrgjDOJosTAhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQSZC35krAAhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fk0O9Hd03oU (van halen sample)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-nAQdv5iAOchttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvj64IaW4JY (F for regions that didn't get this title and final boss fight track)
>>23824007Both the Feddies and Zeeks used the Zaku. It's the most faction-agnostic suit of the roster.
>>23826844That's unfortunate, it really put me off in the demo. if At Sky's Edge can manage to go all in on real voice actors while still being a free alpha it can't be overwhelmingly expensive or anything.
