Some of you might be wondering what's with all these off topic post.Let me give you a breakdown>A death battle general on /co/ became the home to a bunch of shitposters from /a/>Some Ultraman and Kamen Rider anon joins the general and annoys the shitposters>They get sick of his shit and decide to "raid" this thread as punishmentDon't know if any of you care, but that's the jits of it.
So basically, Ultraman is all but dead in Japan, but people love it in China and SEA, and Tsupro has no fucking clue what to do with this information.

Oooh, touched a nerve.
>>23861037Reminder:>Gundam fans notoriously hate powerscaling because a lot of the most popular Gundams are mid tier and a lot of the mods powerful things in the franchise are unpopular. So they just reject the notion to cope.>Gundam recently invalidated pretty much all internal powerlevel discussion by retconning a low tier character into being several tiers higher than the rest of the franchise.

The thread raiders have 2 hours starting from now to post censored evidence of them eating real beef if they wish to prove they are, in fact, not Indian.
Hey ultrafriends. Here's a rundown for you. /dbg/ is threatened by the idea that Gohan from dragonball is more likely to fight Ultraman Zero than Mark from Invincible and for some ungodly reason this makes /dbg/ seethe beyond reason. The death battle cast even acknowledged the MU and thought Zero was definitely more worth looking into. So now any time Ultraman is even acknowledged in /dbg/ it causes a melty.
>>23861244>threatenedAn entire board seethed over /dbg/ just because they made one thread after mods banned them. Beyond buck broken.
>>23861266>An entire boardOne guy, whom you have a shibboleth for, which then prompted you to flood multiple threads because for some reason you think annoying unrelated people will at all impact the guy who annoyed you. Which is, bluntly, very Indian behavior. >>23861242 has a point. Where's the beef, pal?
>>23861271>which then prompted you to flood multiple threads because for some reason you think annoying unrelated people will at all impact the guy who annoyed youNewfag doesn't get RTH

>>23861292>IESLB
>>23860715>>23860675Bandai is basically getting fooled by Tsuburuya. They're likely expecting anniversary merch to boost things next FY, but it likely won't do much if it's movie-only and the show just continues like it has been in these last few years.
>>23861104International is not a bad idea. Speaking of which, is /m78/ team Beck or team Young?
>>23861286This is some real ass backwards logic. You people created a whole culture around dragonball and shit talking the opponent. So what's the problem? The Ultraman anon was doing what you guys were doing, and you're upset about it?Do you not realize how retarded this is?
>>23861395NTA but /dbg/ (or /dbs/ 2.0) cannot handle their own logic being used against them, especially when the series is something it has no history with. So in response they decide to resort to raiding and gay insults.
>>23861206Nigger, most people in this board prefer the jobber grunts over the more powerful protagonist Gundams. Barely anyone here cares about power levels, this board doesn't have shonentard brainrot.
?Since when we have raiders? This is rather odd.

I'm wondering now if Teo will still be the standard 24-26 episodes or if it'll be shorter because of the apparent budget slashing and focus on the Zero movie.
>>23863917Don't forget for a long time Tsuburuya was pretty limited with Ultraman internationally due to the whole Chayo dispute. The explosion in 2021 and 2022 though was due to Ultraman Trigger, and Tiga being so big in China, which got revived and this time used officially by Tsuburuya.

The idea that Z is meant to be Next Gen Zero is funny to me. Zero gets>A legendary Ultra from the future>The guardian of an underground race>An entity of information from beyond time and space>The mightiest warrior of O-50>Belial’s son>A trio of siblings who can fuse into an unstoppable warrior>Taro’s son and his two bestiesIt’s an impressive group, to be sure. But if you treat Z the same, it means his “Group” is>Smile Smile>A guy having dimensional time travel wackiness>The monkey>A guy who’s very good at playing pretend>The best player who insists on remaining in spectator mode>And now a refugeeI can’t help but feel something about that.
>>23866752>belial's sonbelial's clone* who can't innately transform>taiga and friendsthese guys are just brats from the playgroundreally the only standout *legendary* Ultras are Ginga, Orb, and maybe fused Ruebe. On Z's side the standout Ultras are Tiga's copy and Dyna's son. I don't know if you wanna count Ribut amd Regulos in Z's group but theyre not really anything legendary tier
>>23866416How did they know Dark Trigger is actually Trigger's recycled carcass not actually another dark ultra like Evil Trigger??
>>23866849Covered by previous recap series.
>>23866799>belial's clone* who can't innately transformI felt that was more due to Geed being a fetus in terms of an Ultra.Z is a teen and he's like 5000 years old. Riku/Geed is like 16..? On account of him being raised as a human.
>>23867041Grigio is even younger than him. Her existence canonically is 8-9 years old. It has more to do with the fact that Geed is "incomplete" rather than being young. I feel like Tsuburaya really needs to own the fact that Geed is a clone and just let him take over Belial's classic design. Having him walk around in Primitive form is kinda weird if you think about it

https://tsuburaya-prod.com/news/11627>Opening Theme Song: LINK HEARTSArtist: ASTRO DONUTSLyrics: Shigenori TanabeComposition: Kenji Kawai, Takao Konishi, Yasuharu TakanashiArrangement: Yajiuma>This opening theme song expresses through its lyrics the story of Ultraman Teo protagonist Ibuki Mitsuishi, as he encounters many forms of life and builds bonds with the companions he meets through “miraculous encounters,” growing together along the way, accompanied by a rhythmic and catchy melody. The lyrics were written by Shigenori Tanabe, who serves as the series composer and head screenplay writer of the series. >The composition and arrangement are handled by a collaborative team of three artists who have previously worked on Ultraman series’ theme songs and soundtrack music: Kenji Kawai, Takao Konishi, and Yasuharu Takanashi. Takanashi composed the verse, Kawai composed the pre-chorus, and Konishi composed the chorus section, while the three joined forces as the musical unit “Yajiuma” to arrange the track together, resulting in a unique creative collaboration.>The song is performed by the newly formed female vocal unit “ASTRO DONUTS,” created especially for this series. One of its members, Haruna, is a singer-songwriter who previously participated as a backing vocalist on songs from the New Generation Ultraman Series. Additional vocal members will be announced at a later date.>Just like the theme of the series itself, please look forward to the theme song created by members who gathered around Teo through a “miraculous encounter.”
>>23870428Soundtrack>The background music and soundtrack that bring Ultraman Teo to life are also composed and arranged by the three members of “Yajiuma”: Kawai, Konishi, and Takanashi, who also worked on the opening theme song.>The unit name “Yajiuma” (onlookers) was inspired by the fact that the three composers themselves make cameo appearances in the series as curious onlookers. Please look forward to spotting their scenes when the series begins airing this July.>Some of the soundtrack music can already be heard in the teaser PV currently available online.>In addition, the ending portion of the program features a track with scat vocals performed by “Queen of Anime Songs” Mitsuko Horie and Chiaki Seshimo from voyager.
>>23870429Comment from Kenji Kawai>As Mr. Takanashi and Mr. Konishi may also mention, the opportunity for the three of us to work together on the music for Ultraman Teo began with a conversation we had during a talk show at TsubuCon in 2019 about our favorite genres of music. We joked about how interesting it would be if each of us composed in different genres, and somehow it actually happened. What’s more, the theme song was composed relay-style by the three of us… More precisely, Mr. Takanashi handled the verse, Mr. Konishi composed the chorus section, and I connected the two in between. It was my first experience working that way, and it was a lot of fun! On top of that, the three of us even got to appear in the series as a group of onlookers, which was a truly rare and special experience. I hope everyone enjoys not only our music, but also our clumsy acting performances!
>>23870431Comment from Takao Konishi>I am truly honored and incredibly excited to be participating in the opening theme song and soundtrack for Ultraman Teo.>What’s more, I never could have imagined that the conversation we once had at TsubuCon—about how fun it would be someday to work together on a project and divide up the music writing—would actually come true, allowing me to collaborate with Kenji Kawai and Yasuharu Takanashi. You never know what wonderful things life has in store!>Since working on Ultraman X and Ultraman Orb, a great deal of time has passed, and I poured everything I’ve learned since then, along with my special feelings toward Ultraman, into this music. I would be very happy if my sound, alongside the music of my respected seniors, can help make this series something truly special.>Thank you very much for your support!
>>23870432Comment from Yasuharu Takanashi>I’m incredibly happy to have the opportunity to work on the music for the 60th anniversary of Ultraman, a series I’ve loved so, so, so much since I was a child! And on top of that, getting to collaborate with Mr. Kawai and Mr. Konishi! In such an amazing environment, I wrote these songs with incredible excitement and energy. I hope many people will enjoy them.

Is there a copy of Anno's first 2 Ultraman films? Ultraman 1979 and Ultraman DX 1980?The 1979 one is recreated in Blue Blazes, but can't even find that one online anymore but I've swear I've seen it online before. The third film Return of Ultraman is up on Youtube, but the first 2 are nowhere to be seen it seems.
>>23870431I'm a big fan of Kawai's work, I think this is his first tokuson production since Geed and Build.
>>23870461He's really good at those catchy, memorable leitmotifs. Geed and Build are top tier soundtracks.
Is Nexus worth watching?
>>23870445>The 1979 one is recreated in Blue Blazes, but can't even find that one online anymore but I've swear I've seen it online before. Can't help you too much, but that might be in this torrent?https://nyaa.si/view/1724280Sorry for being unhelpful+too lazy to download it myself, but I just remember seeing this torrent when I watched the show myself.
>>23870638Yes
>>23870649That just the recreation for Aoi Honoo, anon searching for the real film
>>23870638I don't remember specific episodes because it was too long ago but I recall thinking it was pretty good, yeah. Its, at the very least, worth checking out solely because how it plays with the formula.
>>23870638Yeah.
If you had to give OG Ultraman a kid, who would it be?
>>23870431>Kawai doing Teo music yeah Zero definitely appears in the show
>>23870897Ultraman Q
So the current situation is >Tsupro is stuck in another rights issue about the Showa Ultras. the next UGF is on hold until it’s resolved >tsupro wants to make 50 episode shows that are less gimmick heavy but Bandai says maybe>Theo having no gimmick is testing the waters to see if it’s successful
>>23871276I think gimmicks are a thing of the past. Kamen Rider relies on it heavily and even for them it's going down. Bandai wants Ultra and I assume the rest of the Toku IP it handles to have Gundam levels of revenue. Gundam doesn't rely on gimmicks. It's simply relies on products upon products. I think Bandai might just be finding ways to expand what more products people are willing to buy from Ultra and that is also likely why Teo's "gimmick" is just the colour timer scanning a little sticker on other various products.
>>23871323It's the economy. Mass producing toys won't mean much if the revenues aren't making up for it
>>23871323My-th is gonna have a whole bunch of Kamen Riders based on the leaks.>>23865403
>>23871323>>23871369so the pendulum is swinging back to the showa era huh>>23871276>tsupro wants to make 50 episode shows that are less gimmick heavy but Bandai says maybesauce?
So, I want to buy an Ultraman set to continue my collection and I have a few choices. I could buy Nexus cause it has an interesting premise, Trigger cause I actually liked what I had seen of it during it's run and it'd lead in nicely to watching Decker down the road. or Taiga which has the cheapest set of the 3. In fact I could probably swing buying Taiga and one of the others if they're worth it.
How's that Ultraman TCG doing?
>>23871400Buy all the set
Should I keep watching Mebius (10 episodes in) or put it on hold to watch the OG Ultraman cause I've never seen Showa Ultraman yet.
>>23872055Really recommend watching the OG first since it's short and sweet, also still holds up.
>>23872055Mebius very heavily references all the Showa seasons, but honestly you should at least watch the OG before Mebius. Mebius is really fucking awesome so I won't tell you to watch everything before it, but OG first is probably a good idea.
>>23871276no way in hell they have the budget for a 50 episode show anymore
>>23872498If that two seasons series format means anything, then technically they do
>>23872561I thought the season format thing would be more like same continuity like Tiga to Dyna or maybe even Ginga to Ginga S if they're keeping the same Ultra for with new form or something.
>>23872826I was thinking of something like the latter. While Trigger and Decker made bucks, there were various other factors for that, but I do know they made Ginga and Ginga S to stabilize profits then, which is definitely something they want to achieve during these experimental era

Been watching Nexus and it's awesome. Perfect balance between episodic action and continuous story. I'm glad I found it.
>>23860788Imagine actually enjoying things
>>23873831I think it's my favourite. Strong OP, too.
>>23873835Eiyuu is one of the top tiers, alongside Dyna and Tiga's OPs
TLDR>Tokyo District Court deemed 1976 contract as invalid>Tsuburaya can now use 6 Ultra Brothers again in Mainland China without UMC interference
>>23873994Oh hell yeah.
>>23873994now is your time to smile. you deserve it
>>23873994WOOOOO
>>23873994You know, I feel the production crew for Project Ultraman deserved better. They put some real effort into it, and Ultraman Millennium and Elite are superb designs. Shame they had to work for Chaiyo
>>23873994Things are looking up.
>>23873994thank god. This should help Tsupro's money issues some.
>>23873994UGF is coming back then?
This is just each Ultraman ranked by their theme songs for me.None of them are bad at all, this is just ranked by what I like best
>>23873994>Tokyo District Court deemed 1976 contract as invalidBut what about 1967's contract? Joke
>>23873994how much would this affect their plans for the next 3 years?
>>23873994>no mention about Guang Dong court's 2013 acknowledgement of the contractidk if this changes anything.

>>23874470Yeah they are going to keep trolling the IP
>>23865581Zero's popular in China? I didn't know that
>>23874470they still think they have a fucking chance lmao. even China fans knows they would much rather buy official shit than whatever UM shits out. I have to wonder, who actually does business with bootleg Ultra in China? Broke ass dying malls? Some poor rural village? Or people who genuinely have no clue about this whole dispute?
>>23874754>they still think they have a fucking chanceThey don't "think", they KNOW it doesn't matter what the fans think as long as the Guangdong court doesn't overturn that 2013 verdict.UMC's statement is also feeding on that anti-Japan drama from last year, framing this as Japan insulting China again. I doubt it will have any effect on Ultra fans but it may attract the braindead China nationalist mob on social media.
>>23874769Chink Ultra fans already hate UMC. But also, some were theorizing that while this ongoing, there's a chance that UMC gonna transfer 6 Ultra Brothers rights to Ultra Mega. Though I don't know how that legally works or even possible.
>>23874727Zero is THE most popular Ultra in China.
Nobody gives a fuck about China and Korea and Japan have you beat on soft power lmfao. Korea and their soft power dominance in the past 20 years has been INSANE.
>>23874813what's ultra mega?
>>23874877Ultra Mega Chicken
>>23874813>>23874877They are saying that UMC Japan may transfer the rights fully to UMC China, currently it's just a license.
>>23874889but whyyyy
>>23874897Dude scroll up >>23873994The Tokyo Court has revoked UMC's rights so their Japan HQ essentially has zero value right now. Meanwhile China's business as usual.
>>23874902sorry I mean like if they transfer the rights fully to UMC China, wouldn't that just make the lawsuit go on again? or am i getting that wrong.
>>23874944Yes but it's been the status quo in China for the past 3~4 years, with SCLA suing UMC's licensees in Shanghai, and UMC doing the same to SCLA's licensees but in Guangdong where their win in 2013 is still standing. Basically nothing has changed over in China like I said.
>>23874849Isn't he the most popular everywhere?
All these dramas is probably why TsuPro is working hard to not rely on nostalgiabucks.
>>23874889well they cant do shit anymore because all their rights on it is void. they cant transfer what they dont own.
>>23875193No shit. We've been discussing this since last year.>>23875375Are you still misunderstanding something? It's only UMC's Japan side that is impacted which doesn't matter since they haven't been doing anything in Japan in the first place.>>23874470 are acting so bold exactly because they know their local court won't recognize the Japanese judgement and their hold on the rights in China is still solid.
The one positive thing about UMC's statement >>23874470 is that they've carefully avoided the use of the official "奥特曼“ name which means the rumor about them losing that is probably real. So they are still stuck in this awkward situation where they can use the Ultra 6 bros likenesses but have to call them "ultra bros", "ultra hero" or even "salted egg superman", etc less common names.
>>23875387Is UMC not wholly Japanese? If Ultra Mega is merely a licensee, there's no point attempting to shift anything from UMC to Ultra Mega because UMC doesn't own jack shit
>>23875465They are transferring ownership from the lost Japanese HQ to their protected Chinese branch. Is that really that hard to understand? You got to be intentionally dense at this point.
>>23875478Stop giving them free advertising unless you plan on snitching so that Teo is blocked from airing in China
>>23875478Tbf anon, like I said from beginning, currently that's just a speculation. >>23875537UMC don't own Heisei to Reiwa series. They can't do shit with it.
>>23875478again, how THE FUCK are they gonna do that if their rights to distribute outside of japan is voided retard? do you understand this concept? they lost. there is nothing to transfer. that speculation is retarded, anon. it's RETARDED
>>23875641Omg, for the last time, that is the Tokyo Court's ruling which the Chinese courts do not need to acknowledge. Are you the same mentally deficient anon who couldn't understand Blazar's dumbed-down ADULTS BAD ending despite 5 anons explaining it to you?
To this day I wonder why Z’s beam has a little whistle.Who’s idea was that? It’s a good sound but i wonder what the thought process behind it was
>>23875556That wouldn't stop them from trying
>>23876031P cool
>>23876032>>23876031It would be pretty cool to see these concepts revisited
>>23875672and I asked if UMC was wholly Japanese right? if they are, THEN THEY CAN'T DO SHIT RETARD. THEY ARE IN JAPAN. THEY CANNOT TRASNFER ANYTHING. THIS IS RETARDED SPECULATIONUltra Mega are better off continuing their operations regardless of UMC. there is absolutely 0 need to transfer anything because the initial Chinese ruling never changed and they dont care anyway so transferring is POINTLESS AND THEY CAN'T EVEN DO THAT IF THEY WANTED TO RETARD
I know the logo invokes 60th anniversary so homage to the OG, but why can't they make Ultraman Teo's logo in blue?
>>23876462teo's gonna be read by the end of the show anyway
Should I watch more of 66 Ultraman, or start Trigger+Decker?
>>23876644I mean, what are you looking for anon? The people here is definitely going to tell you to watch the OG series, but if that doesn't hit it off with you, just try Trigger and Decker
It's still crazy to me how the best Ultraman model kits aren't from Bandai or SCLA but from Blokees. They just straight up use the typical SHF articulation cuts while Bandai's FRS line that we get is terribly engineered with retarded seam placement and articulation cuts.
Leo, 80, Tiga and Gaia all have lead actors under 175cm. why cant ultraman go back to haveing short ptotagonists?
Sooo how many monster subgroups are there?>Choju>Super Ability Monsters>Saucer Beasts>Minus Energy Kaiju>Maga kaiju?>Space Beasts, I think? What else is there?
>>23876828Sphere kaiju?
>>23876801Geed is supposedly 174cm according to IMDB. I thought Yuma would be short but hes 178cm
>>23876843Those are more assimilated Kaiju. Although stuff like the Spheresaurus counts. We’d have to count variants if we did
Hype for Teo is unexistant. This will be the final Ultra show
don't give him any (you) unless he posts beef
>>23877340we're just waiting for it to air so there is more to talk about. I'm super hyped.
So I have 3 choices in front of me:>Watch OG Ultraman, save the rest of mebius for after this>Continue Mebius and save OG Ultraman for when I have a few more behind my belt>Watch Trigger and Decker cause they seem like the best new series of the last few years.Which should I go with? If I'm being honest OG Ultraman isn't really doing it for me yet.
>>23878183you could watch mebius and ultraman simultaneously. trigger and decker after. just so you know the writing in trigger is not the best in recent ultra but will be good context for decker
>>23878221Was decker a better sequel to trigger compared to Dyna to tiga?
>>23878234I felt both Dyna and Decker were better than their predecessors at how their human cast are more grounded and likeable. Daigo and MANAKA KENGO were too perfect Jesus-like.
>>23878269Kengo was honestly better written in Decker.
https://x.com/moegi_noko/status/2058557345987457063
>>23878269>>23878234Should I watch Dyna before getting to Decker? This will help me decide which to rip and add to my media server first.
>>23878269Dyna's attack team is so much less competant then Tiga's though
