I asked in the last thread but no one seemed that interested so I'll just post the ideon design anyways.
>>23861903i'll give one bump
at least post them all
These are only new to you OP.
It always surprises me that there isn't a proper mecha "early concept art and pre-production" collection book out there, afaik. You have to weed through all these artbooks and most of the time you get at best a small image and blurb here and there.
>>23862871Why would there be?
>>23862871These look like they are meant for a horror show
Changed up quite a bit. I wonder what some of the mecha that changed the most from initial concept to final design are.
>>23862861Bottom right vaguely reminds me of Fire II from Tetsujin 28
>>23863334If you really think about it, Ideon was a horror show>>23862871All of these could’ve fit the series well enough already
>>23863344Why IS he called Fire II anyway?
>>23863383I really don’t know and I wish I did, his main gimmick is that he can fire electricity from his fingertips and he’s followed around by six robotic birds. Mitsuteru Yokoyama sucks with English names, one of the major villains from the manga is a mob boss literally named Thrill Suspense with one of his henchmen being named Rocken Roll. Pic rel is named fucking Robby like the other autonomous self reliant robot from Forbidden Planet.
>>23862871It depends on what they saved, or what they think is worth publishing.Tatsunoko threw out a lot of their original materials, and you're lucky that as far as Sunrise goes that they bother to cover things like Gundam's pre-production history while other shows get ignored.
