>theatrical prequel
Why?
>>
>>23865028
Because SEED sells and Bandai wants to milk the SEEDfans for all they got.
>>
>>23865028
>>23865058
Fukuda also wanted to make this movie since it was part of the initial story idea made while his wife was still alive.
>>
I thought it was advertised before as a prequel series to Seed Freedom? Was I hallucinating?
>>
>>23865117
It is which makes it especially redundant as a story but Seedfags aren't known for having good taste or sense
>>
>>23865028
It is weird, I remember scratching my head when it got announced too. Usually this type of stuff is suppose to be a short OVA that happens to get people hyped for a movie so it's pretty backwards.
>>
I liked Freedom but I really don't think this is a gap that needs to be bridged.
>>
>>23865281
I want to see rising freedom Vs strike freedom
>>
>>23865028
Will SEED ever getting CCA-esque finale or that was SEED Freedom?
>>
So are Kira and Lacus just going to be emotionally burnt out wet blankets the whole time? Cause Freedom made it looked like they had been that way for a bit.
>>
>>23865289
SEED Freedom is a CE reimagining of F91, SFZ will have elements of F90 in its story
>>
>>23865147
Apparently it was part of the story outline but they had to chop like half of it to fit one movie
Basically its an excuse to shill some more kits like NT
>>
>>23865418
>Immortal Justice [Early Type]
>Prototype Shi-ve.A
>Murasame Kai [Andrew Waltdfeld Use]
>Strike Freedom Refit
>Rising Freedom [Early Type]

Lots of easy re-colors. Except Strike Freedom, whose chest cannon is now in a slightly different place again.
>>
>>23865028
Because SEED freedom made more money that Gqux and Hathaway at the theaters, thats why
You think they are gonna miss out on free money?
>>
>>23865457
I was going to guess a Freedom Impulse as a suit, designed to test the MSF's loadout before integrating it into the Freedom line
>>
>>23865117
>series
If you mean the word "series", auto-translators often fuck up something that's meant to be a generic "work" or "entry", without specifying the format, into "series".
>>
>>23865418
It's still weird as shit to get a prequel movie of a small event where barely anything happens. I was expecting a OVA not a full on movie again. What's the point we already know what's going to happen. Then again I thought Doan's Island was also a what the fuck
>>
>>23865058
>SEED sells
I thought Wing was the big hit with Japanese audiences?
>>
>>23865133
X sucks.
>>
They need a good reason Athrun doesn't shut Leonard down instantly because he never loses.
>>
>>23865087
>loved his wife
What a Faggot
>>
>>23866045
Does it?
>>
>>23865028
Its going to make a shit ton of money. People fucking love Gundam Seed.
>>
>>23866028
Seed has always been king in JP.
>>
>did you... did you do a side quest?
are they going to do the story that's in Eternal? i kind of hate prequels because it doesn't move the story forward quite literally and i want to see where CE goes from here.
zoomers are most likely going to see Kira grow up in extended real time for the next 30 years until he gets amuro'd
>>
>>23866028
Wing was the biggest '90s success, SEED was the biggest commercial success since the original
>>
>>23866775
No because the side story in eternal was between seed and destiny, while this is meant to lead from destiny into freedom.
>>
>>23865418
What kits? Based on the previews almost everything in the movie is stuff that's already got kits. SF, IJ Murasame kai, Gelgoog and Gyan. And if they're consistant with the Freedom flashback of the Foundation taking out the stolen SF then it's just their standard Black Knight unit
>>
>>23866047
He's going to do just that and that's gonna be the justification as to why Leonard is so easily manipulated into stealing Strike Freedom because "He only crushed me because of his powerful Gundam"
>>
>>23866022
Doan's island at least was a modern remake of one of the crappiest animated episodes of the original show which had since been buried by Tomino so there was the novelty of that. Here there's basically nothing. I guess we get to see the original SF and IJ again and more of the AA before it gets blown up in Freedom but was that really worth making a whole movie over?
>>
>>23865462
>Because SEED freedom made more money that Gqux
But you guys said Gqux saved the franchise...
>>
>>23866775
I don't mind prequels at all, I just hate it when stories get jammed in a specific place in a timeline where there's no real freedom for anything.
>>
>>23866775
I don't think they have any plans for CE past Freedom to begin with which is why they're doing a prequel. Freedom was expected to have a meh turnout that they mostly made as a favor to Fukuda. It being one of the most sucessful Gundam films of all time and showing that only will Seed oldfags still turn out despite them not following Gundam since then otherwise but that younger fans also like Seed just as much kind of threw them for a loop
>>
>>23867499
They will add more. This takes place after Destiny so a chance to add more gunpla. Kira custom murasame, things like that
>>
>>23867512
So, like Unicorn?
>>
>>23868419
It's probably not gonna happen but I want to see Shinn interact with other characters like Cagalli and Mu so him suddenly being cool with everyone, but Athrun feels natural.
>>
>>23865028
It will be one hour of Kira dealing with cholesterol after way too many Lacus deep fried
>>
>>23868479
It might. All we know so far is he's being put to work scrubbing the AA
>>
>>23866775
>zoomers are most likely going to see Kira grow up in extended real time for the next 30 years until he gets amuro'd

It's funny because despite being the self insert of the creator, he's tried to kill Kira at least twice in the series only for Bandai execs to step in and stop it. It's why he's Jesus Yamato now.
>>
>>23868585
psh as if the director didn't have final say
>>
>>23866022
It's highly likely that there's going to more going on that just the Accord's shooting down Freedom.

They are probably going to expand on the EA civil war and the rise of blue cosmos again. The Michael character was never seen in the Seed Freedom but he's supposed to be an important leader during the civil war.
>>
>>23866028
>I thought Wing was the big hit with Japanese audiences?
Wing was good success with Japan.

Wing was a MASSIVE success with Western countries. Especially in America.
>>
>>23868585
He changed his own mind on Kira's death at the end of SEED and never had any intention of killing him during Destiny. The execs had no say in any of that.
>>
>>23868586
The suits have the highest call, even Tomino couldn't defy them until he basically became a Japanese national treasure. But in this case Fukuda never intended to kill Kira beyond toying with the idea to kill him in SEED's finale that he long changed his mind on
>>
>>23868603
I wouldn't expect much on EA's front. In Freedom they were just a plot device to set up the big Foundation trap and then to show how powerful the Accords are. It's clear Fukuda and co have zero intention to do anything with them. They couldn't even give Michael a last name or make him not look like a generic military guy, I wouldn't count on much. If anything it is gonna focus more on the Accords scheming and confirm that they were the ones that set up the Freedom theft as part of their plan which would mean everything including the EA was just dancing to their tune in the movie
>>
>>23868616
Not that anon. But are we absolutely certain Freedom get stolen by the Accords?

Or does it just get briefly "hijacked" and then shot down in order to show off the Accord Black Knight suits. With the added bonus of making the world governments afraid of nuclear powered suits and demanding Compass battery powered from now on.

Because I genuinely don't think the Accords need to steal Strike Freedom to build Shiv.A or Cal-re.A. They seem to be smart enough to make their own suits. Or just secretly ask Zaft for data and information.
>>
>>23868620
In the novel, which is dubious canon it's heavily implied they're involved because Agnes's boyfriend just goes nuts out of nowhere and steals and rampages with SF and then Foundation just happens to be in the area to help stop them. However regardless it pretty much makes too much sense for the Accords to have been involved with it because it basically makes everything go right for their plan. Compass has to shelve SF and downgrade Kira (Athrun just takes IJ and fucks off), it puts Compass in a negative light and it makes them owe Foundation a favor which is how they invite them to lure them into their trap. Otherwise they just got stupidly lucky that their master plan they'd been working on for years got a last minute stroke of good luck to make it work better that was completely unrelated.
>>
>>23868627
Why not steal Infinite Justice or Destiny Gundam?
>>
>>23868616
Didn't they say that the Earth Alliance tried to invade Foundation but failed? It would be pretty cool to get scenes of Destroy Gundams and new Earth Alliance Gundams fighting the Accords.
>>
>>23868629
It was one guy, he picked Freedom
>>
>>23868620
>With the added bonus of making the world governments afraid of nuclear powered suits and demanding Compass battery powered from now on.
Why would they be afraid of nuclear MS if it got OHKO by a battery MS?
>>
>>23868634
They didn't want nuclear powered suits in the hands of an autonomous force when one of the first things to happen is one of them being ganked by a terrorist

Because Freedom made a fuckton of money, more than they expected. So why not make more?
I'm not excited. Freedom was excellent, but I don't think they can make lightning strike twice, and we already had a Freedom prequel. It was called Destiny and it sucked.
>>
>Wing anniversary video last year
>gets an insane amount of traction, bandai sees it and goes MONEY
>Seed Freedom movie
>makes an insane amount of money, bandai sees it and goes MONEY
>Gundam oldfags are still buying Zakus, time to remake the OG Gundam and make a whole new generation of Zaku buyers MONEY

MONEY
>>
>>23868634
Mass destruction wise Strike Freedom can do way more collateral damage than any Foundation suit other than Orphee's which didn't exist at the time. Just because it could be stopped by a small handful of suits that only one nation has doesn't stop SF from being a massive danger especially if Compass allows it to get stolen
>>
>>23868644
so why isn't ZAFT getting raked over the coals for losing the freedom and justice? is SF still considered a ZAFT-developed MS so that's literally 3 nuclear powered MS that they lost? four if they count destiny astray story?
>>
>>23868646
Because Freedom and Justice were both destroyed and SF and IJ were in the hands of people that used them responsibly. It wasn't until Agnes's boyfriend took SF on a terror joyride that people noticed the danger. It's like how in capeshit nobody cares about the danger heroes cause until they screw up first, which is an apt comparison because Kira/Freedom was basically treated like an in universe superhero up until the Hijack
>>
>>23866022
If I had to guess, Zero was Morosawa's original script while Seed Freedom was him adding Cross Ange and other self aware humor into it.
