true.

Zero was the one who ordered the refusal to back him up. not Cockface. and officially, while he is indeed part of the Top Brass, Zero is supposed to be HIS superior. Cockface must have tried to convince Zero to go with the order, not the other way around.

the ONLY way this could work, is if it is revealed Cockface used a voice changer module to make NOX believe Zero was the one who refused to help him.

We are nearing episode 40 and Baku has yet to permanently stop a single major threat
>The Lady
>Nox
>Sieg
>Three
>Arguably Zero depending on where they go with him from this point on
And soon, we’ll have the Gore Nightmares to deal with, leading to even more major bad guys. He may not be beefing with Lady and Nox that much currently, but they’re still not part of his team or “redeemed” in any way. Not a good track record for him.
>>
>>23868377
The reset really messed up with the progression of the story, other shows usually have already killed off 2 or 3 major villains by this point. Though I don't think Three is gonna live for much longer since his final form is debuting next week.

I thought this episode was just meh until about the halfway point, then it got straight up bad, it's definitely one of the weakest episodes in the show so far.

The good guys having a cozy BBQ dream is nice and all, but weren't they supposed to stay awake because CODE was planning to assassinate them all in their dreams? It feels like the show just forgot about that plot point in favor of the Code: Somnia shenanigans. At least we got to see Nasuka being nice for a bit.

The effects of Code: Somnia are disturbing on paper, but the way they got played off for laughs during the first half was just flat out jarring. Also, didn't CODE want to capture Nem in order to study her? Why do they want her killed on sight now?

Seeing this whole incident unfold while Nem once again blamed herself for everything just undermines the impact of the previous 2-parter, which was all about Baku telling Nem that she's not at fault for any of the suffering the Nightmares cause and that she'll have good dreams from now on. Also, I guess Exdream's powers can't do shit about Code: Somnia since Baku didn't try to undo any of the shit that went down at the end. It's been an issue this show has been having for a while now, they just keep undermining the character and story developments because they feel the need to introduce a new big problem by the very next 2-parter.

(1/?)
>>
>>23868560
Lord Six jobbed like always, I don't know why CODE keeps sending her out when they know their enemies are way out of her league. Also, the fact that this episode started out with Nasuka's dream and involved her former best friend, yet it's Baku who interacts with Kureha the most and is the one who gives her the redemption speech just speaks volumes about how worthless the cops are even from a narrative standpoint. The subplot about the Paranormal Division's return also got stalled because of this episode's events, and I have a feeling that the public won't remember the Nightmares from the last 2-parter even after this situation gets fixed.

Kureha's death just fell completely flat, she was barely in the show (they really had to give her that forced scene at the start of the episode because she barely interacted with the heroes, and even then she barely did or say anything during the BBQ) and the fact that they killed her off after they just had benched her twice in a row is just fucking ridiculous. As a journalist who investigated Black Cases, a sympathetic Agent of CODE and Nasuka's best friend, she had a lot of potential as a character, but they just wasted all of it. I know that her actress might've been too busy to work on the show for long periods of time, but if that was really the case, they should've had the foresight to hire someone else for the role so we wouldn't have to deal with this shitshow.

Five barely batting an eye over Six's death just feels wrong, I hope we get to see him grieve in the next episode because I'd hate to see him be completely character assassinated in this shitty arc. I'll give Three some credit here though, he managed to take out a traitorous Agent before she became a problem for CODE, unlike every other fucking traitor that has defected from the organization. Also, how does Three know what went down in Baku's premonition?

Fight scene was meh outside of the moment where Baku had Six get hit by her own attack.

>>23868564
I don't like the fact that Sieg is coming back so soon, but at least Nox is finally going to do something next week. Still, he and The Lady suck at protecting Nem from their enemies, they really didn't bother showing up at all during the entirety of this episode.

I didn’t mind the dream assassination plotline being dropped as it was really a lie set by Zero to force Baku into getting into his mind so he could show him the full truth. With code somnia they don’t really need to target civilians individually.
Everything else you say is on point. Why does Three know about the premonition? Why does he want Nem dead when he wanted her for experiments before? I guess you could say Three has changed priorities since the premonition and now, but clearly whatever Nem is has to be so important that just killing her would be a huge change to their plans. But it’s more proof that they just make up shit as they go along and they don’t have any of this planned.

>>23868074
Surprised they moved into this bit of the story so quickly. Really doesn't seem like they're setting up CODE to be the final bosses and are instead angling at solving the underlying issue of nightmares being a thing at all. I'm thinking this is just a setup episode so they can finally show for sure that Baku's premonitions work by pushing back in time to a critical point before he dies.

It's really inconsistent from one show to another. Master Logos in Saber didn't get flowers even though he just made a few flashback appearances after his death.

On the other hand, Graphite did get flowers for his big death early in Ex-Aid and yet appeared still in quite a few later episodes even if he wasn't around every week.

>I'm thinking this is just a setup episode so they can finally show for sure that Baku's premonitions work by pushing back in time to a critical point before he dies.
I don't think there's gonna be another reset next week, Kureha's actress finished all her scenes as a regular cast member.

Zero works under unseen higher-ups that are clearly closer in morality to Three than him. He does care about Baku, but he had to follow protocol and let him get executed, and even then it's clear he wasn't happy about it.

I'm not even sure Three is under Zero in the chain in command, it seems like they're both of equal rank, and the reason why Three had to dispose of Zero was to remain as the sole Commander in order to prevent Zero from making any more orders that stalled CODE's operations for Baku's sake.

When? They only showed up after the recap segment ended, CODE didn't bother targeting Nem at all until this week, and both Nox and The Lady acknowledged the danger of her finally going to sleep to help her daughter as if CODE didn't know who and where Nem was already, and CODE wasn't nowhere to be seen in that dream either.

>>23869717
Are you even paying attention to the show? They didn't know Nem was The Lady's daughter because The Lady secretly sent her away to an orphanage as a baby and decided to not sleep for 20 years so they wouldn't know where her daughter was. They would've kidnapped her years ago if they had known it was Nem the fucking national idol all along, they only learned it in the previous loop because Nem was repeatedly following The Lady and calling her mom at the CODE HQ raid.

ZA LEDI not sleeping because CODE can peek into dreams implies that they can do the same to Baku. Five and Six didn't need to be in the room for CODE to snoop into Seven's dreams

They weren't aware Nox was pestering Baku until Baku told Zero about him, Zero wasn't aware of Nem until Baku brought her to the Zeztz Room, they didn't realize Nox took the Knight Invoker during the national secret case, Nox told Nem that she was the source of the Nightmares INSIDE SIX'S DREAM but they still completely ignored her existence until the end of the first half when it became more than obvious that she was The Lady's daughter, they didn't witness Baku's premonitory dream when it happened even though it took place at some point after they gave him the Zeztz Driver so he could test it out against the Gun Nightmare. Everything points towards them not having the same ability as The Lady and Sieg to watch over dreams, they need to travel inside the dream to know what's going on in it, which doesn't invalidate The Lady's concerns since they can still travel to her dreams and try to gather intel from there.

>I didn’t mind the dream assassination plotline being dropped as it was really a lie set by Zero to force Baku into getting into his mind so he could show him the full truth
Was it really a lie? The episode starts with a CODE higher-up telling Three that they can no longer overlook "his" (either Zero's or Baku's, but probably Zero's) actions, then Zero comes in to essentially warn Baku about CODE's plan to assassinate him and his friends and then straight up tells him to meet him one last time in his dreams, and after Zero wakes up he gets arrested by Three for "failing to uphold CODE's security protocols" and "not dealing with the problem", which makes it sound like Zero was in charge of the assassination but he ultimately didn't carry it out when he was supposed to in order to spare Baku and friends, which lines up with Minami's comment that Zero would've gotten her killed already if that's what he really wanted.
