Recently getting into gunpla brought back some long buried memories of my early childhoodI somehow got a MG Zaku II for a (birthday?) present. Unfortunately, I neither knew what a Zaku was nor how to build gunpla. So my dad made my brother (who was into gunpla) build it. Unfortunately I tried to be helpful and clipped out all the parts before my brother was called in to help. He somehow completed it anyway, and then refused to give it back to me since he did all the work.I don't blame him. I was a spoiled kid and he was an angry teen back then. I have half a mind to buy an mg zaku II (the original) to see what building it would have been like, but it's so darn expensive.

Not to mention the plastic is getting softer, the gate is getting less prominent and less of a toll on the nipper. You can technically build alot of modern HGs with minimal nipper usage, cut one gate and rip the part out using your hand.

Just got my airbrush yesterday, how long can i left paint inside it before drying or clogging? Sometimes i want to take a poop or short break.Also if i use acrylic paint are water and alcohol enough to clean the airbrush?

do you ever feel like some parts are just busywork? like "I just put these two grey parts together... these could have been just one grey part". Obviously building is part of the fun, but I figure they'd usually be for movement/color separation/structural integrity reasons. Or is there a reason for it usually?
>>23890198If you are going to take a break, it is recommended to flush out paint, sometimes add some water/cleaner to the cup after that. Flushing takes just few seconds anyway so it's okay but you don't want to let any paint to dry inside as it will only make it harder to remove. If by alcohol you mean IPA, then yes, I would recommend mixing it with water (50/50), still cleans but is not as strong. Yet, now most airbrush models use teflon seals so it won't be a problem to run typical 80% IPA. There are also dedicated cleaning solutions in handy bottles.H&S have good videos on airbrush handle subject, including cleaning. It uses the standard TR-6 wrist joint, which already struggles with the CSB that it comes with, so when you add a giant barrel to it the issue is exacerbated further.I fixed it by reinforcing joints of the entire arm. Now it handles it just fine. It's been holding this pose for a few months and nothing is drooping.

Remember that anywhere there is a void inside a part there has to be metal when it is getting shot and the metal has to have a path out of the part.
