Wasn't super in love with the suit design in the past but seeing how they have to accommodate the color change gimmick (is that color correction or do they actually have a different one for each color of each member?) I definitely immediately like the suits more.I've spoiled myself on the mystery but hopefully it'll still be enjoyable going through. Do the robot scenes include things like the CG extending punch that the first episode had? That was neat.

My theory on the decline of Sentai is that Rider overlapped with the concept of "gattai".Before W, combining things was reserved for Sentai only. But since W introduced proper key items that combines with the belt, as well as forms that feel like a combined robot.

So what went wrong? Why did Gavan Infinity fail?
>>23903942Saleswise toys have the same issue Sentai toys had, the suit and henshin gun / mecha design don't stand out and a lesser note they didn't make a figure line with a light up feature like Wizard. With the show the biggest problem is how the cases of the week are executed, they don't feel like cop cases at all but instead like a "generic toku villain" case and this is in spite of the show having criminals instead of kaijin, it just makes this show blend in with other toku, the show usually only stands out when Yamaguchi is writing or when it's a plot-focused episode. The whole taking turns between Gavans gimmick means they're barely going to make any actual use of the dimension hopping gimmick, specially due to the show's half-year length. The producer of the show Kuji claims the show doesn't have budget limitations but that feels like a bold faced lie considering how the show barely makes any proper use of the cotw being aliens and the show having a single motw suit, him lying really stands out when last year Takebe was very upfront about budget limitations with Gavv as early as Q2, Gozyuger's producer being really public about why the GozyuUnicorn edits were so bad even going as far that he's disappointed in himself that there wasn't anything else they could do and because his previous show Boonboomger avoided acknowledging the issues with the Cannonborg arc which really makes it him that it's him lying and not Toei forcing him to lie. The pilot director despite being involved with toku for a very long time he has only been a director for 3 years, his lack of experience has given the show a bland visual direction. The mecha doesn't stand out much but in that case I'm not sure what they could have done with the way they wanted to implement it aside from giving it a more standoff design.
Billgoldy going from giggling lunatic co-villain to legitimate dead serious threat and straight up the final boss of the whole show was a really weird character shift.
