If you don't give a fuck about the characters, then there's not much reason to like it. It's not like 7 where the characters are just a vehicle for the over the top spectacle and absurdity of the setting.

The 1st hypes him up as being to basically "dance" with a Valkyrie while fighting, but afterwards most of his action is very generic.
