>>24003484In the lineup of things it's a little too detailed I feel like. Not by a lot, but you could trim out some of the panel lines and some of the excessive geometry changes and make it ever so slightly simpler and it'd feel more proper. Love the kit anyways though I'm sad it can't wear the Jacket.
>>24003502Do you have a display picture of all your kits?
Why hasn't Bandai used the Labo injection tech for anything else? You'd think they could make Mastergrade Girlpla with it.
>>24003502Something like kill tallies, an insignia, a pinstripe - all cool ideas that I think would add a bit more pop to the head. I think part of it might be the form of the head was just kinda lost in the lighting of the first shot more than anything for me. Looks plenty good in the last, though it is just the sort of surface I feel like should have some detail to catch the eye more maybe. Thinking and looking more yeah, I think some small decal would really tie it in. You've got great decal placement everywhere else, excellent balance without it being overdone, but the head's barren.
>>24003491That looks cool

>>24003534at least im getting there by scratchbuilding and weathering instead of jerking myself off to the 1000th clean mg ex
>>24003540It's a lot of "Fuck it, we will do it live". Basically thin your paint until it is like skim milk when you put it up the side of your mixing cup. Then adjust your PSI until it is as low as possible while still evenly atomizing. Usually it's consistent inside brands of paint, but if you switch types I always end up needing to adjust something.
>>24003517>Some sand on the surface>PoopIt literally looks cleaner than your kitchen after a family reunion.
>>24003540Ideal PSI varies by paint type and how you have thinned the paint, as well as your specific brush, needle size and how far you are pulling back (on a dual action trigger). It entirely depends on your setup. If you aren't willing to experiment for 15-30 minutes to dial things in yourself, I don't think you are going to enjoy airbrushing much.

>>24003571chink marking
>>24003571the fingerprints on the back and the messy white putty on the gun.gun can be fixed with mild sanding. fingerprints will require a lot more effort. otherwise it's pretty decent.
>>24003575I knew it was a joke, I'm playing into it as I don't mind good weathering.
>>24003578I don't think this one is too bad either, but I feel like it would have been better to have masked the yellow lines to get a straighter initial shape, and then chipped/weathered the edges with paint. the pilot figure is a little rough, as the this thicker paint stylization doesn't translate as well to recognizable humans.
>>24003578Looks dogshit you should kill yourself nig...Just kidding. Probably just need panel liner to make the small tubes pop up abit. I would make the MK44 head to look brighter but that's just my taste, you decide.
>>24003591There is a human there? I don't know this series/line so I just figured that was robot arms. To add onto what you said, to me the main problem is where the weathering is coming from. It look like you were going for it go hit by some energy weapon/explosion from the other side/left from the angle of the picture. This left the spot/burnt off paint that is all the black. But for some reason the balls are singed also. Along with some of the white existing on the other side. It would look better if you visualized what happened to cause the weathering, and then consistently apply what happened over the whole surface. Also it looks like the whole thing is covered in Zimmerit, and it was known this didn't really do anything even in WW2. Unless this takes place before/during, I would expect the base metal to be smoother (unless it was like made in a cave or something.
>>24003443Truly a beautiful duwang
>>24003596NTA, the upper body is MK44 Black Knight power armor. It is either the resin kit or he sculpted addtional details on Ammoknight. The tank part is Nutrocker.
>>24003596i think he was refering to this picture i had uploaded but deleted because it was sideways. if with the uneven metal youre refering to the upper part of the vehicle, the resin parts came with a „cast iron“ look, so thats where the texture comes from. as for storytelling with weathering i agree, but its something thats difficult to get good at. generally i appreciate the rather genuine feedback in comparison to the last days.
>>24003599almost correct, except the lower body is the new sturmvogel kit (oskar would work too).
>>24003596>his left the spot/burnt off paint that is all the black. >But for some reason the balls are singed also. Along with some of the white existing on the other sideI think you are misinterpreting what he's trying to go for with the white itself and the dark spots. He looks like he's trying to do winter whitewash paint like they used in WWII, which by design had shitty adhesion so it could be scrubbed clean in spring. The dark grey, rather than being scorch marks is just the underlying color wearing through the whitewash.
>>24003606(2/2)That being said, the wear is a little bit too uniform, and in places that might not always get removed by mechanical disturbances (usually from driving through brush, heavy rain or people physically climbing on the vehicle).
>>24003605Sturmvogel is definitely a kitbash between 1/35 Nutrocker and 1/20 Neu Spotter. Either that or Yokoyama made the prototype using the same bleach bottle that he cut in half lol.
>>24003596i now just understand what you said due to the other anon (i believe). the story of the camo is basically its all grey, then someone painted black on parts because its a night unit (similar to ww2 german nightfighters). the grey spots on the bulbous protrusions are abrasive effects because i imagine they would be more exposed to flying rocks kicked up etc.
>>24003474thinning paints is not a world class technique. it's the very first thing a hand painter learns

>>24003615Camo as a concept is basically human trying mimic chameleon. You paint your military arsenals into the environment's color to hide from the enemy's sight. Most of middle east tanks are painted in desert yellow for example.
>>24003628>Camo as a concept is basically human trying mimic chameleon.what the fuck is this ESL chat GPT babble?vehicle camo is usually meant to break up recognizable shapes to prevent people from immediately seeing or knowing what the specific parts or even directional orientation of a vehicle are.

Have a pretty budget airbrush setup coming soon but undecided on what colors to paint.Think I'm gonna use my Hambrabi GQ as a test but do (You) think painting it the darker blues it's meant to be, red or green would look the nicest? I think green could be nice but not sure
>>24003655Green is greatMore green MS need to be in the world
>>24003656That's what I'm leaning to, a grunt Hambrabi could be cool in my head. I just find it fucked up it was dark blue in the promo images then it turned out light blue but I had already preordered. What do you think the red torso should be when green? Only thing I can think would be black but then it's very Kshatryia-y and I still have an Osiris Dominators in my backlog
>>24003659You could go with the Hizack/Zaku Kai scheme and keep the redI would just remove it as a highlight though because I kinda don't like it, personal taste, but if you went with a two-tone green scheme you could highlight it with one of the shades
>>24003659>What do you think the red torso should be when green?orange
>>24003643That's what happens when shitposting eats up 200 of the posts.
>>24003661True, I guess if grunt suit is my idea then the highlight seems a little out of place but then again it does look good on the Zaku Kai. Definitely going to two tone it, likely just in the same way it already is. Think it'd look pretty boring all the same shade>>24003663That could also be nice tbf! Guess I'll see closer to the time!
>>24003634>recognizable shapes to prevent people from immediately seeing or knowing what the specific parts or even directional orientation of a vehicle are.You are acting like your enemies give a shit when they blast your ship with the cannons.
>>24003665I think it might be cool to do a camo scheme on it too. It has nice surfaces to work with for it. I've always personally kinda wanted to try traditional aviation camo schemes on a transformable MS - light underbelly to blend with the sky and a scheme to blend more with the land on top. Maybe a more on the earlier flight schemes, modern ones are a little more understated, whatever. The way the two divided schemes might break each other up in MS mode is an appealing concept to me, I dunno.
>>24003669>You are acting like your enemies give a shit when they blast your ship with the cannons.before radar rangefinders and laser rangefinders were reliable (or existed), an inaccurate gauge of distance and orientation was often significant enough to increase the time required for your opponent to straddle your ship with ranging shots. most ship engagements took place at pretty significant distances where they had to slowly dial in parabolic trajectories to actually land shots.

>>24003634That's a Dazzle, not real camo. Military stopped using it because it was trash.
>>24003675Dazzle didn't work.
>>24003701I'm assuming you read the post you just attached as a screenshot, but it's weird because if you did you'd read that it did work just fine just not against the enemy it ended up being used against
>>24003705I know what that professor said, however as he said, if it only work for such a niche purpose and alot of reports even said it didn't even work for the intended purpose. About camouflage as a concept, it came from the animals. You hide your shit. I don't get why you suddenly bring up dazzle when the earliest practice of camo was for the soldiers to blend themselves into the evironment.
I'm willing to try a girlpla kit. What line should I try for my first. From my understanding Bandai is behind in this area. Not looking for a specific kit really, just want to make sure I'm getting a good example.
>>24003719Can't go wrong with modern megami device.
>>24003719Try Sousai Shoujo line if you want a good first impression. Or try HG Fumina if you want something that's actually really bad and traumatic.
This kit is really stacked, you can build several different variants by swapping out parts.
>>24003718I'm not the anon who started any of this and my only other post in this exchange was to wonder why an anon was treating someone like an actual child and tryin to explain the basics of camo. It's just extremely weird to see someone try to say something with a post basically contradicting their overly simplistic statement even just within the context of itself. It's like watching people play telephone and you get to see when someone totally fucks up transmitting the info in real time in the chain, cus that's an awful shorthand of the post linked.Ignoring the context of that post though I personally know dazzle camo was more complex than working or not working, it had its uses and at least a couple german sailors considered it effective against them. Navies are still experimenting with it to this day because even outside of exact rangefinding it is very disorienting and does mask details for human eyes.Frankly it just kinda reads like you literally just found out about dazzle camo and are pretending to be an expert about it after googling "why didn't dazzle camo work" but idk that's my unnecessary and perhaps provocative 2 cents but it's my genuine read of the situation I'm seeing
>>24003719Kotobukiya is the current king of girlpla. Megami Device, Frame Arms Girl, Sousai Shoujo Teien, Megalomaria. They tend to be on the expensive side though (not to mention constantly out of print/stock), and their girls are 1/10 scale so they're a bit out of scale versus the "standard" 1/12.Bandai's 30 Minutes and Figurise Standard are starting to catch up, but still not quite there yet. The advantage they have is that since it's Bandai it's cheap and plentiful, so it's usually really easy to grab one. They also make name brand kits because they're Bandai and thus the biggest name in plastic toys in southeast Asia, so if you want Fate or Bocchi or Gundam girls, that's where you go (Koto also has some licensed stuff, but not nearly as much as Bandai).Otherwise, you might want to start looking into Chinese kits. They're actually doing really good work in this area, lots of originals at good prices and quality, I would even venture to say their stuff can be better than Bandai's (only for girlpla though, their Gundam knockoffs still tend to suck). MS General is the biggest name here, not only do they actually do licensed stuff and collaborations (one of their most recent ones is the Mecha Break Panther), but they have several very well-made original lines like Seven Deadly Sins and Raider of Shadow. Other Chinese manufacturers you might want to look into include Nuke Matrix's Cyber Forest line and Eastern Model (sometimes shortened to E-Model).
Looking into airbrushes, does anyone have a siphon fed airbrush like this one? How does it perform? Reviews say it's good for coverage of one color which is basically exactly what you need for gunpla so don't see that as a downside and it looks like it would be easier to maintain/clean but maybe I'm wrong there?
>>24003727Hell yeah it is. Comes in the absolutely freshest green too. I love that guy so much.
>>24003732His original post is literally copypasted from wiki so i'm just playing the same trick. What irks me is how he argued about what is "true camo" which he claims to be Dazzle, which is absolutely not. Camo will always meant to conceal the presence of something. The ghilie suit is obviously not meant to confuse your enemies that your head is on your crotch or you are Bigfoot, it is such a simple thing to understand and i have no idea why he had to sperg about it.

It fits perfectly and the head ball joint that would be going there would 110% make it even more secure. >>24003883It is gonna be glorious. I hope there are gonna be crazier stuff like Dijeh SE-R and Solomon Express.
>>24003848Yes, I gave up on ever getting it to stay on, and it just looks like a metallic silver frame bit where it attached anyway so it looks fine without. I will say my chest LEDs don't work unless I actively push on the battery cage. I tried wedging but it was always too much/too little pressure.
Talk about Solomon Express, is the HG Rx78-2 strong enough to handle the giant tanks? I want to do a build based on this.
Didn't know Bandai still make those swirly ass plastic
>>24003896You might need to tighten the joints and it all depends how heavy whatever you use for the tanks are but it's by no means impossible to get one to stand like that with similar stuff going on.Personally I'd affix it to a stand at the base of the backpack though and not sweat the balance too much overall for something like that.
>>24003898Those go away if you put a clearcoat over the plastic
>>24003901I still don't understand how it does that.
>>24003869I hope so too. I've done the MG of it and I'll post WIP and stuff here. The Zeta family are my favorite mobile suits.
>>24003903The swirls aren't color variation. They're gloss variation. If you normalize the gloss they go away.
>>24003740cleaning out the jars on a siphon feed brush was always way more annoying that cleaning out the cup on a gravity feed brush. plus if you want additional jars they aint cheap. they're better than a spraycan cos you can easily mix colors but that's about it. its not like keeping a gravity feed brush clean and maintained is some difficult task, don't let that be your deciding factor.
>>24003484Its face is split in half...
>>24003552If you're using mr hobby line, their website provide some basic guides like thinner ratio, basic info about airbrushing etc. But you have to select the japanese language toggle (and run it through google tl if you can't read moon). They basically never bothered to mirror the info into english. But yeah, just practice on a few spoons or something before actually painting on the gunpla.
>>24003484its a gay quasi gundam face, not a kino visor
>>24003913I always find Gunraid to look stupid as hell. The big baby head, visor that pretends to be Gundam eyes and greebles are all so fucking ugly. And yes, the split face thingy too.
anyone have a side feed gaahleri airbrush and know what kind of stand it would fit in?
>>24003527fuck it, I'm doing the Crossbone Vanguard Dagger because Titans versions of mobile suits have been done to death and late UC deserves more love (an actual Crossbone anime instead of more SNEED)
>>24003719Consider chinkpla. Their mecha may be a greebled mess, but their girlplas have been great. Depending on the kit, their also cheaper than the likes of koto while also having shit ton of accessories.
>>24003899>it all depends how heavy whatever you use for the tanksThey will be scratch built for sure. But i'm just afraid that they will end up heavy due to additional details i add later on. How's the EG joints compares to the HG?
>>24003917I wonder what went through Yanase's head when he designed that visor. Hell just give it Jegan face and the design will look better by tenfold.
>>24003578the yellow looks like melted cheese slices
>>24003924I don't own the EG, my only experience is with the ancient HGUC as 1/144 78-2s go (outside of the original RG). In cases like this if you really want you might benefit from putting some weight up front in the torso. Just glue something lead in there and it'll help redistribute the centre of mass. Lotsa stuff will do the trick. Fishing weights are easy. You can even (potentially) just leave a glob of blutack in there, that stuff compresses pretty well and ends up fairly heavy.
>>24003571kek I thought you said you're done with this place? Already came crawling back in less than a day. Pathetic.
>>24003571I thought you were leaving forever faggot
>>24003931Thanks, i will keep that in mind.
>>24003443lol I definitely overloaded my brush in some places and then on the thigh I accidentally smeared Tamiya putty on there so that's just always going to look weird.
>>24003571What's wrong with the paint?
>>24003578This one was my favorite of your builds. Love the Roomba Hund.
>>24003940What isn't?
>>24003939Pour type panel liner and matte coat will probably make it look better, might achieve the rough, worn out machine looks.
>>24003939Matte clearcoat hides so many more flaws than you could ever imagine. It's a cheat code to make paint look good.I suggest thinning your paint a bit more. It's okay if the coverage isn't good on the first coat. It's not supposed to be.
>>24003886Nice, I can sell my resin Neo Geo I have had in my backlog for 10 years.
>>24003964It is also a cheat to kill orangepeel and plastic shine. This build >>24003896Is actually partially snapshit according to Kobayashi, but the gundam looks painted because he might have used matte coat on it. It is such a huge real life cheatcode that almost feel like god has to patch it at some point.
>>24003970I mean, high quality resin kit has much sharper sculpt compares to plastic. But if it is some dogshit recast with molten details then yeah, you should just get rid of it once the Vakit is out.
Tell me about the Leo. Why is it so beloved?
>>24003979Mainline grunt in Wing. Designed by Katoki. You know why.
>>24003927Yanase just sucks. Hasn't designed anything worthwhile since his time in 00 however many years ago.
>>24003979Unironically the most noble, civilized grunt design. All Zaku variants and derivatives are inherently brutal in design, a little bestial even. The spikes, the glowing red monoeye, it leads to a silhouette that is inherently villainous. But the LEO...It's noble. It's vaguely evocative of Romanesque design elements. There's even something patrician to it. It looks more like the suit a poor, conscripted soldier would pilot, instead of a barbarian and his axe. The first time we see it, an ace pilot is using a Leo to overpower a near godlike existence, a Gundam, through nothing more than willpower and ingenuity. The Leo is, bar none, the greatest of all Gundam grunt suits.
>>24003981I was wondering why Yanase doesn't design more UC until i saw Gunraid. He better stay away from it as long as he can.
>>24003982It always gave me 1980s American military vibe. Something that you'd see in an action hero movie. I love it. Most Mobile suits are derived from Eastern Asethics but the Leo feels Western. Double so for the Tallgeese. The later is almost Knight like.
>>24003979It fought and died for your gun rights.
>>24003982Zaku looks barraric because the name is a slightly distorted word of "Zako" ( pleb, not important ). Meanwhile Leo is "Lion". There is an obvious difference between the two.
>tfw I haven't built or painted gunpla in almost a year and still have a sizeable backlog of PG and MGs
>>24003578the decal on the cylinder is slightly misaligned
>>24003984>Most Mobile suits are derived from Eastern AsethicsReally? Beside the Gundams, most of them look pretty western to me. Guncannon reminds me of Starship Troopers, Baund Doc looks like something that could belong to Robocop. Most of Zaku and their successors resemble WW2 soldiers.
>>24004014traditional gundams draw a lot from samurai motiffs but that's about as far as it really goesthat is a lot of popular designs howeverbeitbut in sheer number zeon and badguy designs are much more numerous and that varies from work to work, UC loves its vaguely german inspired bad guys from zakus to gearas to den'ans, but it also inserts some weirdos in there too like space gorilla barzam and bugGOD zoloat
>>24003429Considering using my HG zgok for this groupbuild. Decided to try and mock up my general idea for it, please ignore my awful shopping job, graphic design is my passion. This would be my first time painting non-canon colors so I wanted to get a idea for how it would look.>yellow vents>white abdomen, arms, legs>gun metal upper legs/arms claws>red feet/upper torso>lil gundam V on the crotch>green mono eye>ight buy some generic feddie decals for itYou guys think that would be good for a feddie zgok?
>>24004021>nigga ass gundam color schemejust paint it up like a zgok E with fed decals for GROONTING
>>24003484>>24003918I don't mind the Gunraid, but I still wonder who sucked who off to get a MG kit of a non-Gundam grunt kit almost immediately after it was introduced in the manga when there's a small army of different designs that have been waiting since the early 1990's to get anything new.
>>24004021Here's something I mocked up using GM colors. It would require some easy masking though.
>>24004021My suggestionA Z'Gok is an astounding bit of hardware to capture, any Feddie that got their hands on that in the OYW would be god of Earth so it's a really cool choice. I feel like it has tons of potential. t. Gihren's Greed enjoyer
>>24004037it'd be cooler if I posted the image
>>24004019Barzam's head definitely took inspiration from Spartan helmet. Zoloat is a roman in armor with a gasmask, even the colorscheme screams Roman. UC has the biggest amount of western influence, AUs like 00 or AGE look consistently Eastern but they don't run as long as UC does.
>>24004032>>24004021Aqua GM colors
>>24004039Bonus round, this takes very little scratchbuilding knowhow and I think it's neato.
>>24004021What in the world is going on in this image?
I'm losing my mind thinking about a better way to handpaint white.I usually do grey primer>acrysion IJN mitsubishi gray>acrysion off white. The results are fine but the off-white requires a lot of coats to cover the already light grey. Can anyone recommend me a good, light acrylic base color to paint off-white onto?
>>24004048Try pink. Soft pinks are great for coverage and can fade easily into white. Makes them a little warmer though. You can go with some kinda mauve or whatever the fuck if you want it cooler. I'm not a shade autist sorry if it's the wrong name.
>>24004042>>24004032>>24004021Ultimately I do not think zgok looks good with contrasting colors. I think it would look good kinda froggy looking. The feddies loved their minty shades of green and white so I think it'd look something like this.>>24004046He photoshopped it to try and get a visualization of the colors he wanted.>>24004048Vallejo dead white has pretty good coverage over gray primer.
>>24004044I think these colors would look much better on Z'Gok E, regular Z'Gok doesn't have the lines for it.
>>24003491All the childhood action figures I have in my basement look like this after collecting dust for 20 years
Hey, z'gok anon here. Surprised my dumpy post got so much attention. I dont want to reply to all of you because I dont like tagging so many people. But I want to say I appreciate all the feedback and thoughts. Also I forgot those 2d renders existed. Lol. I just ripped a image off google and colorized it it photoshop.>>24004039I really like this mock up though. The white on the head part of the body really completes it. The white arms/legs look better than I thought too. I had the GM in mind when I was coloring. I think I will probably attempt this but with some gunmetal for the claws, like the GMs hands.>>24004050While I agree the z'gok doesnt look good in contrasting colors, that is kind of why I wanted to do it like that. Make it look a bit weird and anachronistic. Explicitly wrong looking.
>>24004049I have actually tried off-white over a light flesh tone and the coverage is great but does seem quite warm.>mauveLike a dull pink? I have some stynylrez primer like that>>24004050>Vallejo dead whitePure whites, even the good ones like AK, are too bright for my liking
>>24004062People love an excuse to use the bucket tool>>24004064You can also just use it as a base and mix in a bit of color to exploit the good coverage. You don't have to use the color as is.
>>24004064basically just a light shade of purple - more on the blue than the red instead of more red than blue. lavender and other faint purples.
>>24003307Based on my experience so far, the paintjob is fine. Really, the main 'challenge' is just getting the paint to thinner ratio right. At the very least, I've posted my builds here and I haven't got any autists jumping on the paint job so I guess it's fine.
>>24004062Glad you liked it. I think the arms and legs will look even better on the kit because you'll actually get some of the darker contrast from the underlying joint structure the lineart doesn't. Should look really cool. Looking forward to seeing your work on it.

anyone know if there's any other bottles that work with the dspaie wash free airbrush?
>>24003740Don't know about the one in your pic, but the 'standard' cup on top version isn't hard to clean at all. I typically just our thinner into the cup when I'm done painting, give it a swirl for a while to wash off all the paint inside and then just spray.
>>24004083I don't like that her skirt is rubber. It's impossible to paint the details on it or anything. Really wish it was plastic like Nyaans. Makes it pretty much impossible to display the other outfit for me.
>>24004105You only use that as an excuse to display her skirtless.
>>24004111I was planning on doing that but I would still like to paint the skirt to look right.
>>24004031> I still wonder who sucked who off to get a MG kit of a non-Gundam grunt kit almost immediately after it was introduced in the manga when there's a small army of different designs that have been waiting since the early 1990's to get anything new.Gunraid is especially created as a kit first then manga exclusive mech later to promote said kit.
Why the fuck are bare Arm/Leg Option parts that's Color A/B for 30ms so goddamn hard to find. All I find is Color C. Only Sister that gets mileage out of that is Sestieh. >Just paint them broWhy the fuck are FAG/30ms girlpla flesh paints so goddamn hard to find.>Just mix other brand paints and experiment to find the right color proportions broI am this goddamn close to reaching this point.
>>24004126If you're gonna paint the flesh tones you might as well just get the lascivious skin paints. They're way nicer looking.
>>24004126So reach that point and stop being a fucking slave to reprints to get a colour
>>24004126>Just mix other brand paints and experiment to find the right color proportions broAnd then you reach the point where you waste a good chunk of the paint with experimenting but STILL you don't get the colors right. So you decide fuck it, you'll just repaint the entire fucking thing your way. But then you realize you don't have enough paint to do the full repaint you want or are lacking other colors. The path to becoming a complete paintfag is riddled with hardships.
>>24004126Because 90% optional parts bandai has been selling are just the torsos without limbs so everyone has to fight for that 10% of limbs parts, to the point they have to buy those Idolmaster kits just to loot the limbs.
>>24003778The green parts are glow in the dark.
>>24004143>they have to buy those Idolmaster kits just to loot the limbs.Still no bare feet though. As far as I know, you can only get those out of the Limb Option parts set specifically.
>>24004148Wow, that's cool.>>24004143>>24004149sounds like a missed opportunity for bandai
>>2400371930 Minute Sisters are perfectly fine if you think any of them are cute, though some are less worth the money than others, still a good entry point for the price though. Better if on sale of course.

How does /gpg/ paint HG heads, they're always a slog because of all the masking I have to do
>>24003719starflower lily, a LOT of value for $50
>>24004152Just ignore their older ones and pick anything from Yufia onward, which is when they started having more improvement in kit designs. The upgrade versions of the starter trio is a good starting point since they are less prone to scalping.
>>24004172paint the parts individually why are you needing to mask
>>24004177This and the cyborg zombie girl Jiu Lian are worth getting.
>>24004180I try to remove the seamline that connects the two halves of the head so that usually means I paint the inner stuff first (the eyes/mouthpiece-thing), wait for it to dry, then build it all up, then masking the painted stuff so I can hit it with my airbrush.Whole thing usually takes me like 2 days since I use acrylics and I want to make sure the pieces are cured. I was wondering if there's a more efficient way of doing this.
>>24004181I've been considering the Mecha Break Panther girl, but I heard the plastic quality isn't amazing.
>>24003979>GM-coded Zaku clone>puts up an admirable fight when the Gundam pilots step aboard one>even has a few notable feats when piloted by other named characters >one of the best Real Robot designs, ironically in a show with donut steel mecha which border on Super Robot at points there's a lot to like about the Leo, but the HG is flimsy as fuck
>>24004184simple just embrace the seams and spare your sanity
>>24004189I see, thank you anon.
>>24003719Falcon and Panther from Moshow
>>24004187That's kinda the case for chinkpla in general.
>>24004187>>24004203Don't know about the mecha break one, but hemoxian's starflower and jiu lian are fine imo. There are some tight fits so you'll want to sand them a bit, but other than that all parts work fine.
>>24004206>all parts work fine.and no swirls/ flush or what not. The color of the plastic is fine etc.Poor quality flimsy plastic tend to be the issue for those cheap bootlegs. Higher end chink OCs are generally fine, at least no worse than most bandai/ koto kit.
>>24004178>muh scalpingFucking what gets scalped. You tards told me the school outfit was going to be scalped but I can still buy it at msrp a week later.
Where can I watch the original series subbed?
The average highend chinkpla has better plastic quality than SMP for quarter the price

Machu is done. Got my pilots done for the group build. They're mostly for moral support.Next, I need to acquire and customize their mobile suits.>>24003719Bandai is behind but their girlpla is really easy to build and they're catching up fast. They just keep doing dumb shit like making rubber skirts that need color correction you can't paint on.Anyways, get Nyaan and Machu. My real suggestion is avoiding anything with too much going on for a first girl. It's really easy to burn out when you've got a hundred accessories to build after finishing the girl.
>>24004188>show with donut steel mecha which border on Super Robot at pointsNone of Gundam in Wing summoned dead people like Zeta and ZZ.
>>24004188Wing is probably one of the least super robot gundam timelines
>>24004226lol we're ignoring the timeskip now and all the nanomachine bullshit
>>24004228I don't think that is really comparable to talking to dead people and using their power to defeat your enemies.
>>24004219>My real suggestion is avoiding anything with too much going on for a first girl. That is a fair point, though I'm assuming that anon is just new to girlpla rather than plamo in general.
>>24004232Girlpla burnout just feels different. I've built some koto girlpla where I didn't even want to finish all the accessories since it was so monotonous and there was so many of them. The only similar experience I've had with gunpla was the full armor unicorn ver.ka
>>24004247Yeah, but you don't HAVE to do all the accessories, I just do the ones that I actually want to equip. Then build again when I want to swap parts.
>>24004252It's a pretty solid reason to suggest someones first girly kit is a more simple one though
>>24004256Yeah, that is true
Funny how handpainting doesn't burn you out thoroughly compared to all the setup you must do during airbrushing sessions
>>24004232I always feel more pressured to do girlpla since I want to make sure everything is as clean as possible, while I could always chalk up some shoddy parts on normal plamo as battle damage.
>>24004031A significant chunk of the Gunraid is just the F90 underneath.
>>24004219I already ordered the Buster Doll Paladin. Luckily (?) I'm liking her most in the 3rd partially armored form. That said, I did crank out the MG FA Unicorn in like a week and that was finagling a chunk metal frame into it that had terrible fitment.
>>24004293I didn't have any issues with the plastic frame on mine, personally.Anyways, all the buster dolls are very good. Good choice.
>>24004303Oh the plastic one would probably have worked fine. I was wanting to try a metal frame and also figured it would help support the crap on the arms. It made it worse,I basically glued the elbows at 90 degrees.
Hey guys? Wanna ride? Finally finished the FAG Wilber Nine. Specifically the Beryl Armor Custom variant. Color-wise, I prefer the vanilla variant, but for some reason the shop was selling this kit at JP MSRP while the vanilla version had like 20 bucks added on top. This version came with a sick Variable Gun-Broadsword thing that you can attach to the bike so this was an easy sell for me on top of being cheaper.
>>24004327Cute
>>24004327The Armed Mode variant. I'm honestly a sucker for those Girlpla kits that can fuse with their Vehicle/Battle Familiars to become even more Mecha Musume-like. For this specific kit though, I'm a bit torn between leaving her in a pose in Arned Mode or just leave her on the motorcycle with the Blades deployed to do some silly Advent Children motorcycle shit. Either way, gotta get on to painting that giant sword.
>>24004327>>24004329Some really nice belly molding in this kit.
>>24003979We need Aries HG and a 2.0 RG Wing Zero/EW Zero
>>24004327>>24004329i dunno the base girplas cuter. The combined bike mode looks so halfassed and the translucent bits makes it look too toyetic.

>>24004391>What makes gaia notes so specialYou can thin them a lot while keeping great coverage. >>24004596Honestly MG is a good beginner kit if you don't want to deal with tiny parts and bad nubs placement. Or just go for EG if you want something that is both cheap, easy to build and high quality.
>>24004596Buy whatever kit you think you like the look of and follow the instructions.
>>24004596Any kit can be tackled by a beginner, but RG will be the more intricate and complicated for the three. HG would typically be easiest next to entry grade (EG). MG is in between because they're usually a bit larger but have more parts and usually inner frames.
>>24004553>>24004558Then who the fuck love clear kits?!
>>24004535EXACTLY
>>24004443I intentionally frosted it because I didn't like that it looked like clear plastic. There's no way to make it look like actual glass because it's not actually glass.Mind you, that part already needed masking to paint the white.
>>24004596Newbies that aren't literal children should always start with HG kits. They're cheap, plentiful and beginner-friendly. Very easy to get into the basics, and if you fuck up and break something, you aren't out a $50 kit. RG kits are more intricate with very small parts that are easy to lose, while MG kits have a huge number of parts that make building a slog if you don't have the patience to stick with it.
>>24004415I'll order some next time I order paints. Looks like exactly what I need. Thanks.
>>24003659It's actually a lot darker in person tbfthe left promo pic just blew out the lighting to show detail (right is a cg render)
Seeing that one anon's ZZ display makes me curious about everyone else's displays and collection.Show off your displays, anons so it can help me get some ideas on how I should display my kits too
>>24004606>>24004606>I didn't like how it looked like clear plastic so I made it look like a clear black 2DS instead Lmao>There's no way to make it look like glassWhy would you want to do that when real aircraft especially fighters use almost entirely plastic for that? >I mean glass like thickScratch build a frame? Add clear plastic inside using elmers glue? You have multiple options that are better than making it look like a cheap electronic from eBay. >Okay I actually meant that weird rainbow look you see in photosBuy a polarised lens since they don't look like that in person
>>24004632It doesn't come with a completely clear canopy, it's tinted by default.
building a mechanical base for my figures
>>24004066>mix in a bit of color to exploit the good coverage.Tried mixing AK intense white 3:1 with vallejo Ice yellow and the results are great.
>>24004625After I dust I will
>>24004632It's tinted gray. You have a special kind of autism and don't even know the kit.
>>24004656Yeah but anon did you consider scratchbuilding a whole new canopy out of clear plastic? Huh? Did you think about doing tons of work for a build you just wanted to not do a ton of custom work to just because that's the way a random anon would have totally built his own which is why he's mad about about a pure stylistic choice in how you made yours?
I enjoy assembling small plastic models based off of my favorite mobile suits and historical mechanized infantry.
>>24004661I could get clear plastic and put it together with elmers glue lmao
>>24004664I don't think that's possible because that'd require cutting into your food supplies
>>24004665Yeah I can afford a 60 dollar core fighter kit and paints but not some clear plastic and elmers glue to do what some autistic guy is demanding I do.
>>24004625I have an AoZ display, a Delta line display and a Hathaway's Flash display. Everything else is just random.
>>24004667I think your wires got crossed somewhere bro.
>>24004669>that fucking ufonice
>>24004671The autistic guy was right. I should have scratchbuilt a whole new core fighter to appease him.
>>24004669god damn that is HOTwhat's that big gold one in the middle? the bootleg full armor?
>>24004674Scratchbuilding a gigantic 08th MS Team Corebooster from one would be really cool if someone was so inclined
>>24004625here's my Gundam Team and 0080 displaysI could show a bunch more but some are being reoganized and I'd rather not spam anyway
>>24004683Show more anon, the thread is slow right now
>>24004683>GMs, ass and titties, one Gundam, and a goblinThat shelf though
>>24004684you sound like a little slut
>>24004683I dread to imagine that that Roux figure has seen and touched
>>24004691Give it to me daddy
