The biggest problem with this show is that the tone is all over the place, it's simultaneously way edgier and way more wacky than the original. You can't be killing popular characters and making dumb jokes in the very next episode.

I suspect this was written as a 3 cour, and pretty quickly in they rewrote it to a 2 cour and that's why it's so messy.cour 1 had good pacing at the start, but by the end it was way too rushed.cour 2 was pretty much rushed every step.It seems like the original plan was to do an actual arc relating to gai finding out about ramaga's real self, and the past of the 10 braves, and the 5 survivors adapting to the true identity, likely culminating in Ramaga taking them all, and THEN cour 3 being about the divine realm entering.But when the ratings were so bad early in cour 1, they shifted gears and pressed it into 2.Even this ending feels like an "the adventure continues" endingWhich makes me think they planned another cour, likely about each character getting divine armor upgrades and having to fight the other gods that imprisoned yatogojin.In the end, it's such a shame. It's one of those things that have all the right elements, but it was just put together so poorly it was mostly unenjoyable.
