And the plot progresses, having the hero encounter the main villain early and lost, and best of all Ival and ZetsuEnkaku turned out to be really good and effective antagonists: Ival for being charismatic and doesn't just do things for evuls, and Zetsu for being more than a twink because when he's being evil, he's an actual psychopath.

Early on in the show, there's this focus of the Godzyuger being different from the other ring warriors and in the Sentai archeologist episode they even talk how they're the only ring warriors that are still a multi color team like Sentai should be.But afterwards they retconned the entire origin and the Gozyuger and ring warriors just always existed in this universe rather than the ring warriors being created by the Universe War like said in episode 1. So, they're like this.... because that's just how the world is and always was. There's no further reason.
