-=READ THE GUIDES=-

Welcome to the Gunpla/Plamo General!

For those new, please read our guides. We have many resources available to help you in many different aspects of the hobby. They're here for you!

For the unclear, "plamo" is short for "plastic model". "Gunpla" is thus short for "Gundam plastic model". Many different kinds of models are built here, ranging from mecha to planes, cars, musume, you name it! If you're new, you're gonna screw up. Don't worry! If you're seasoned, don't make the newbies worry!

And don't forget to report shitposting and spam. The mods don't browse /m/ too often, so it's up to YOU to help keep our general clean and civil!

>Why won't anyone answer my question?
Be more specific, and try to provide clear images if you can.

>Why are my pictures sideways?
4chan strips EXIF data when images are uploaded, including the orientation tag if it's from your phone. To fix it save out your images separately, or use an app that will rotate and save the images for you.

== STOLEN GROUPBUILD ==

Build a Mecha or vehicle built by one faction, but change its aesthetics and style to its rival faction! Examples include but are not limited to
>Canon examples of mechs being stolen and used by another group (ie: Casval's Gundam, Feddie Zakus, Ashura Mazinger, etc)
>Designs intended for one faction that were repurposed into a design for another faction (ie: Gerbera Tetra)
>What-if scenarios (ie: A Titans color Zeta Gundam)
>Stylistic interpretation (ie: What would a EFF version of the Z'gok look like?)
When it comes to your build, really make it clear that your mecha is being used by the other side!

That wanzer is called the Tiran, Yokoyama made that very early in the Front Mission franchise, so the Tiran has changed significantly over the Front Mission game releases over the years. The Front Mission Structure Arts kit series was the only time the Tiran was made into a plastic kit, but its the current version of the Tiran, which is pretty different than the Yokoyama design. There is another wanzer called the Schakal (on the right) that has a similar vibe.
>>
>>24066410
A few squads of front mission wanzers vs mechwarrior squads how does it pan out?

Are the dry transfers that come with the ball ver. Ka any good or should I grab some chinese waterslides?

I like the Gyan but its hands fucking suck. The Gelgoog looks cool.

The zaku. The gyan or gelgoog are good options too.

They're fine, but applying them on curved surfaces may be a bit tricky

whats with the jimgoog love? It wasn't downright ugly but it was pretty unremarkable, besides being an offense to googfags of the world. Hambrabi was probably the best gcucks redesign

It's a neat budget kit that manages to do a lot with a low parts count. That said, I fucking hate that it's called a Gelgoog.

Only been in the hobby for 2 years and already feel like the current year is a dark age compared to the first, there's like barely any actual releases between all brands

Why do you guys think it is so hard to do a good interpetetion of RX-78's design beyond just reproducing it one-to-one? It feels like other iconic ms designs such as the Zaku don't have this issue. Meanwhile we have four modern 1/144 renditions of it and the three stylized ones (beyond global, origin, rg 2.0) look off or outright bad.
>inb4 that's just your opinion

I personally only ever used vallejo, ionic and AK, they're all pretty similar and easily sourceable in europe
AK and ionic are slightly cheaper and have a mixing ball inside so I've been making the shift
Dunno what to say they do the job and have their quirks and their problem colors, bit of a learning curve to mix these with the right amount of water
>>
>>24066771
To be honest, any major brand is largely fine. It mostly comes down to availability and pricing in your region. Occasionally a specific pigment might be shit but most ranges have one or two like that.

Much more symmetrical looking today. Need a third pass on the original shoulder though. I had a much better process for the second shoulder, as things tend to go. Clearance for the gun isn't as bad as I anticipated so I can minimize the modifications to it. I'm going to call it the Hermes, from Silver Bullet > Quicksilver > Mercury > Hermes, plus it's a bit tangentially related to the Icarus unit so it all works pretty well I think.
