She makes her children look after their siblings like any mother with a few (thousand) children would do, but she occasionally decides to show the young ones some affection. I've got some artwork and a planned story in the pipeline about just that, but I can't share the sketch with you because of her big bug tiddies. She's got to be careful that she doesn't sit on any of them when she visits the nursery.

I checked out and imagined the place was run by Discord; explaining why it was such a mess. My favorite fantasy was that Chrysalis was being punished for her deeds by being forced to work retail in the store. I figured since she's a queen and all she'd have experience running things so she'd work her way up, somehow get Discord fired, and become manger of the store. People would start to love their job and she'd feed off it. Ironically, I ended up buying a Chrysalis toy with one of my pay checks so it was worth it.

You get a sudden rush of adrenaline for instinctive reasons, the bug is jumpy because it also instinctively expects you to swat it and wants to finish the hug before it happens, the hug feels a little awkward because the bug's legs bend in wrong ways, but mostly it's just tingly. Do I even have a soul? I can always go monk, genuinely forfeit my desire to survive and then seek out love anyway. Then, hopefully, it'll be sufficiently selfless and irrational to be legit. But can it be the best way to play my cards? It's a lot of extra work just to get where an average human or pony begins.It's frustrating.
