Never gonna understand people unable to watch the entirely of a cartoon show of 20 minutes every episode, enjoying most of it and the using it as a part of their own identity. It's so bizarre and nonsensical to me.

This slowed down over time too, probably most notably from S6 on wards in my case. Often I'd rather watch an earlier episode I liked than continue with the "next" episode. By S9 I very infrequently watched further episodes, then I found Mermicorno Starfall and that took over continuing S9, then a few episodes further into S9 that show got a second season which again took over continuing S9.As of yesterday I watched S9E14, I'll finish the show at some point, but most of the time I'll just rather watch an earlier episode then continue S9, plus watching episodes is no longer a daily habit and just something I do from time to time when I feel like it.

It stops being recreational and turns into a study exercise. I can still sort-of enjoy later episodes solely through baseline mare appreciation, but it becomes something you have to set time aside for and persist through, rather than something you might do to relax and unwind. Sucks, because I still love these characters and the world they live in, but if they aren't being done justice by what I'm watching, then what's the point?

>>42525041I almost dropped the show during S4, it was pretty bad, but then out of nowhere the quality suddenly shot up during S5-7, easily becoming my favorite seasons of the show. I'm so glad I decided to press on, I probably would have never discovered the fandom and become so addicted to ponies otherwise because if a show doesn't keep my interest until the end I don't care enough to see what others think of it.
