On males, these chevrons are pointing in opposite directions. However, there are some kirins with only one chevron that is pointing down, and these appear to be females. The lashes seem to be a reliable cue, but who's to say a male kirin can't have long lashes?In any case, your best bet to be totally sure whether or not a kirin is a male or female is to lift their tail and look.
