You ever think about how most of the original pony homeland is buried under ice year round because of the wendigos and ponies have only inhabited Equestria for at most 2,000 years given that Celestia knew the founders of Equestria as a child and that their history likely extends back much longer ("paleo-pony period" and the kingdoms that sent their expeditions). And that the Crystal Empire is probably the only survivor of the old kingdoms

Even early on in the fandom Hearth's Warming was established fact but 99% of the time when a fanfic refers to a date it uses Before Luna's Banishment or After Luna's Banishment or something like that. You'd think something like Before/After Exile would be more significant since they lost their entire homeland.

Humanity rose in a glacial period and the cradles became hotter and drier as the glacial period began to end (we're still in it, technically)Ponies seem to have went the other route, they emerged in an interglacial period, the encroaching ice destroying those that did not adapt and embrace friendship, leaving Equestria in what Im going to call a "managed ice age" where weather teams keep snow clear and prevent glacial expansion (or melting)Expect cooler weather in Equestria and lots of comfy heat-conserving snuggles
