Looking into opening a camping pony convention in the USA.Camping is such a fun experience that I know so many of you are a fan of as well. Its time for us to have a camp con. You know, bring a tent and can'o'beans.Where would (You) like to visit the great outdoors?Right now the poll is for just states but hopefully it gets enough traction here for us to chose a state park or another location.Vote now. https://strawpoll.com/XOgOVb2Yan3
>>42571990camping is fucking gay
>>42571992fat
>>42571990actually sounds comfyword of adviceif u ever wanna have an easy big meal while camping, get a friggin 5lb bag of potatoes, cut em up at camp, put em on a aluminum foil sheet, then cover it in those DIRT CHEAP taco seasoning packets u can get fuckin ANYWHEREthen just wrap it up and put into the fire, make sure it's wrapped well u don't want any steam leaking out or for a bunch of heat to escapeafter an indeterminant amount of time pull it out with two sticks by just pinching it between em and open it upobviously without a solid time frame for cooking i would always get a little bit of burnt potato on the edges and bottom but litterally everything else, which was 95% of it was completley cooked through, soft, and a god tier meal to have when camping and hella cheap too with nothing complicated or any hard barriers like needing to cook it X amount of minutes so you could just fuck off and come back with a solid meal ezpzgood thread anon, you pulled the camping 'tism outta me
>>42571990That's a great idea!
>>42572024Yeah, we gonna eat potatoes and maybe if we're on a lake we can fish and catch enough to feed ourselves at least once. Plans arent in stone at all, but feeding a few anons (hopefully at least 30) wont be too hard. We're gonna need camping 'tism. The ideas are all welcome.
>>42571990I voted Colorado and North Dakota because I've wanted to try one of those winter survival trips(and maybe ice climbing) for a while nowI originally just came to /mlp/ for shitposting but that's been at least a year ago now. I'd be okay with kicking it with some ponyfuckers on a camping trip if I can make it.
>>42572055Not sure it would be a "survival" trip. Thats too extreme kek.Looking for a comfy simple camping type of thing. I was thinking Colorado as well. Lots of natural beauty there. Hopefully during autumn. Maybe on the cusp of snow time, but dont want any anons freezing.
Need mascots as well, park ranger mare, maresquach, maybe something else. Location based one.
>>42572101Cocaine Mare
>>42572101not a park ranger, more like a girl scout mare
>>42572120Could be funny>>42572138cute
>>42571990will go unless it's east coast like every other fucking con
>>42572192At this rate its going to be central.
>>42572195Yay
Might as well ask if any anons live in Colorado and if they know of a good spot where we could camp comfy.
>>42572101I may have some ideas in mind. Let me see what I can do this week.
>>42572222excellent digits, Cant wait to see what youve got in mind
>>42571990this sounds like an easy way to get raped
>>42572233just wear a condom
Id be able to bring a bunch of tents and a few cots for transient anons. I have enough space in my tents to fit maybe 8 anons.
My family used to do a "tent city". it was like 4 tents covered by an pavilion tent. It was comfy and fun. It might be cool if we did something similar.
Really hope something actually happens from this!
>>42572226Just a quick sketch before bed. She's Bivouac and loves heading into the /out/doors to relax. She also enjoys bringing those that have never camped before with her and teaching them how to camp. Absolutely nothing else is done for her (may give her a hat, no color ideas yet, hair open to change). Going to work on her more during the week.
>>42572377ah cute, i like her already
>>42572040>Plans arent in stone at all, but feeding a few anons (hopefully at least 30) wont be too hard.Have you ever cooked 3 meals a day for 30 people?
>>42572300absolute comfy
>>42571990Holy shit, this is peak. The best state to do it in is one where conceal or open carry is legal. There can be a contest based on best shelter, maybe. I'd be willing to fly out somewhere for this. Being a Mare Fair only guy, this has to be the only other thing to spark my autism.
>>42572040are we not going to be roasting hot dogs around a fire?
>>42571990Georgia for Cumberland Island horsesOr Colorado
>>42572040I plan on cooking for myself wherever, I just want an excuse to hang out with friends
>>42572583If there is a river or creek I would go for a small raft and have cutouts of the mascots racing on the rafts.
>>42572539Ive cooked for myself thousands of times so I just scale it. Id like to provide at least one meal for everyone. Even if its just potatos and hot dogs.
>>42572583Contest based on most epic camp... Might make people pack way more than they need. I do like the idea. Will need parameters for it. Or just let it go wild and we all walk around as a group judging (harshly) the state of our camp sites.
Time for a pot of cowboy coffee for you all. Got to get the coffee pot seasoned and make Cowboy Kent proud
>>42572654what is cowboy cofee
>>42572638People should probably be encouraged to bring their own food too. If anything backfires and you can't make enough food for whatever reason, but you promised everyone that meals would be provided, you might have some grumpy anons. Even a potluck thing where everyone agrees to bring something would probably work.
>>42572973That would be for the best.
>>42572973>People should probably be encouraged to bring their own food too.>"What do you mean I can't roast hot pockets over a fire?"
>>42572881no-filter brewing method that involves boiling coarse coffee grounds in water in a tin pot over a fire or stove, similar to a French press but without a plunger
>>42571990This will result in at least 2 rapes and 1 attempted murder man
>>42571990This sounds fun but how do you get campfire smoke out of a plushie?
>>42573394good call. I'll probably be too scared to bring mine then
>>42573394Yeah ploosh wont be recommended to bring.Unless we have a dedicated pluysh tent or something.
>>42573394>>42573576Working out some logistics like this early on is crucial. Maybe just bring a /mpp/ or something small that you would be okay with getting a smoked Snowpity?
>>42573948Could just be bringing whatever at your own risk. Fires and drunk anons doesnt sound healthy for plushies.
>>42574124Sounds like one plush will have to be sacrificed in the campfire.
>>42574142Furry troon detected
>>42573026I'm pretty sure roasting hot pockets would actually work
>>42574262Wrap it up in foil and stuff it in coals. will work out fine
What if we camped at a trailer park or a KOA location instead of risking braving the mosquitoes and ticks? A campground my high school friend went to every year has a trailer park that they rented trailers at.
I ran Camp Equestria in the UK last september, 18+ pretty fun goof around, would like to see something like that in the US.
>>42574344>what if we chose a location most convenient to ME
>>42574344That would kinda miss the point of it being camping. A little bit of roughing it and bug spray wont be so bad. >>42574356Any advice would be well taken. Ive never even ran an event before.
>>42574634There's lots of advice I could probably give, will lurk and see how things develop
>>42572040Having everyone be responsible for their own food is probably the best way to go about it. Much safer that way. Maybe a potluck for dinner with the heavy disclaimer that no one should expect it to be a full meal
>>42574832It tends to work out better that way, At camp Equestria all the seperate little camps sorta made their own food, some people shared, there was a central campfire some people made food on, it all works out
Are we concerned about bathroom and shower facilities?
>>42574982Most places will have a bath house. if not i have some camp showers and shitters.
>>42574982Get digging anon and don't forget the bucket of sawdust
>>42574982We wash ourselves in rivers/lakes
>california>coloradoah 2 liberal wastelands.
keep thissun bumped i want to go camping and possibly be raped then killed by a sadistic troonanon
>>42571992He's right. There's no internet out innawoods so there's not much else to do but get fucked in the ass by another guy.
>>42575484We can talk about pony. Also couldn't we just get a projector and a laptop with the show and some other stuff downloaded to play for some cozy nights?
>>42575394duh libtards aren't hiding out in the woods anon, it's ok to appreciate nature regardless of state
>>42575500>other stuffYou mean gay pornos? I'm sorry anon but everyone I know who goes out to camp just goes to have gay sex. It is a pony con so I assume a lot of furries would probably come too so that would just guarantee it would get really gay.
>>42574982diaperfags... this is your chance to shine...
>>42575527>He doesn't diapermax>He wastes time going to the bathroom instead of shitting in diapers so he doesn't miss a minute of the convention.
Oh wow! I thought about this alot myself, living in rural Colorado backpacking and camping trips are part and parcel of the living. Colorado has some advantages in way of a massice tourist industry catered towards the outdoors and the massive flight hub of DIA. Gun laws are kinda a shit though. I personally voted Wyoming and Colorado.>>42575394Colorado is kinda becoming a shithole, but I dont get any noise out here myself. I wouldnt sweat it. Long as this stays a /mlp/ event and you dont get a wave of insufferable faggots from Denver.Anyways. Im concerned about the logistics of a event like this. Would it just be a glamping site with preestablished facillities and actually built up roads in? Or is it gonna be proper innawoods where Anons have to physically exit their vehicle and hike X amount of distance to a camping site? If the ladder, I can forsee waste cleanup being a major issue. Even just 40 people produce ALOT of waste and need alot of food/water. What are plans for the inevitable injuries and retards not bringing good gear/enough food? It can obviously all be accounted for, not saying its impossible, just a worry. What were your thoughts OP? You're obviously not past even the drawing board yet, but Im fascinated.
I'm not from Burgerland and I won't be able to go, but wouldn't it be better to do something like the Euro Horsefucker Meetup?Rent some cabins in a secluded area and, if everything goes well, maybe do a full camping trip next time?I feel like camping would be too rushed, considering that most anons won't have much experience + there will probably be twice as many people as at the Euro meetup + I doubt that all the anons have camping equipment and buying everything you need can be daunting, and what if someone's tent breaks or something? Anons who have never camped before will underestimate the equipment they need and will always find themselves missing something, implying that what they buy is either the right thing or not super cheap.Cabins guarantee beds, comfort against the weather and mosquitoes, bathrooms and showers, a limit on attendees, and even the most autistic person will be a little more careful with the stuff around them if they know it belongs to someone else and that breaking it could affect the organizer in some way
>>42575638And although I know it sounds like a totally different experience, it still serves as a good first step to eventually doing a camping meetup: outdoor activities, and therefore spending less time on the internet or with electronic devices (without jumping straight to no Wi-Fi/shitty signal), you still have to take care of food, and you still get to experience close cohabitation with lots of other guys.
>>42575549Damn, I'm another Coloradofag and I voted for the same exact two states. I'd imagine the camping place we go to will be one of those drive-in places, with the major issue being car logistics as well as waste-management. I will unironically bring a spade or two with me if anyone needs it
>>425755082nding this
Uh, whatever happened with the Gatlinburg meetup? Did I miss it?
>>42575549It wont be a full on innawoods. I know that for sure. We will need infrastructure. Showers and bathrooms along with easy access to water are must haves. We would be pretty strict for picking up after yourself. Only the most shitty of anons wont clean up after themselves. First aid kit? Im sure we'll be near at least a doctors office if anything big happens. Maybe a few of us can bring an extra tent. I can bring 3 tents, 2 of them can hold 5 faggots with ease. its probably because im pretty naive but im not worried about a lot of it. I am looking for input. Also to make it clear. No hippies. You fuckers are so fucking annoying. An event like this will draw out the most retarded of hippies.
>>42575638Cabins would cost a lot. Im wanting to keep it a super low cost. And I bet this wont be big at all. Maybe 30 people max. Especially if its in colorado, most here on the board in the usa live on the coasts. And then they dont have cars or are unwilling to drive for more than an hour.
>>42576629You're just putting stupid restrictions on the event, disregarding the profile of a typical anon. Most people do not have real camping experience. And if someone can't afford a cabin, they sure as fuck don't have all the camping gear.
>>42576703If an anon wants to rent a cabin, they can. Its just really expensive. Maybe we could get one and just load all the ones unprepared into it. Theyd still have to bring a sleeping bag and proper clothes.
>>42571990Bro, the outdoors suck.Fish and wildlife are worse than regular cops.
>>42576722
bump
Seems unlikely currently, but this shit will be DOA if it's in California
>>42577308So far, its gonna be in colorado.Im gonna close the poll after the anni. since itll have a bit more traffic during that. after that itll be checking out some of the eligible location candidates and going from there.
>>42577316If its west coast, im more than likely going to make the trip- mare fair was a special exception for traveling. Probably going to bring a plush regardless of campfire smoke. Definitely some snacks and cookables and water- no doubt other anons will bring booze
>>42577308California is best for me and has the most beautiful nature besides, but CO is probably better for getting more anons out there>t. Califag
>>42577432Colorado nature mogs Cali naturet. Not salty colofag
>>42576629>>42576620I'm sure it's the same in parks in the States as it is here. There are campsites specifically designated as "group sites". They are normal campsites but bigger so that they can accommodate a large group of people/tents. They have water taps, toilets' and showers would be nearby. Something like that would probably be the best option for the first time. Unless only like 6-8 people can go then a normal site would be enough.
