I think illiteracy would be somewhat common in Equestria because most ponies won't need to use advanced technology due to magic being available and among those who are literate a large part can only read very simple texts and write short notes or their name. So if Twi saw that you can read a whole book and then talk with her about it that would immediately make her think of you as a potential partner.

>>42573111Pegasi and unicorns are the elite in Equestria so they would probably be more literate but most ponies are earth ponies and I think earth ponies probably get less education unless they need it for work or they are just naturally more intellectually interested.
>>42573091I think being lame would be somewhat common in Equestria because most ponies won't need to do advanced stunts due to magic being available and among the pegasi who are rad a large part can only do very simple tricks and fly short distances, maybe to and from work. So if Rainbow saw that you can do a sick kickflip on your skateboard that would immediately make her think of you as a potential partner.
>>42573119 Ponyville Confidential shows that most ponies can both read and write, including foals and earth ponies. Granny Smith can read, so there isn't a generational problem either. I'm sorry, but just being able to read won't make Twilight wet.
