That's another thing, Starlight saw magic as an extension of friendship, a boon to the world. Her joy in magic started with Sunburst, together she was able to do awesome feats because of their friendship. Our Town was only possible because of her magic, she likes learning practical spells that are useful like instant cakes. There is a connection between her love for magic and friendship. Twilight has NONE of this, she's as one-dimensional as it gets, a nepobaby with no personality coasting through life. Twilight only has one episode in the early seasons that makes her feel like a real person, Winter Wrap Up and it barely feels genuine because she didn't even care about fitting before seeing as she never attended the Gala.
