Fangs, a paw, wolfskin cloak... You get the idea. Shamares attune themselves to the things they seek to summon/control/banish, becoming closer to those things, and therefore being granted a measure of power over them. But what if it goes too far? What if a shamare finds a pair of discarded antlers, sticks them on her head, and... After performing some powerful magic, discovers that they're now stuck to her head?The stigma associated with having antlers could be due to ponies like that being perceived as going too far, either in the pursuit of power and seeking to claim the powers of others, or due to disbalance. Being a bridge between the spirits of the world and nature means having balance: one hoof in the spirit world, one hoof with your tribe and people, and your interests still must ultimately lie in assisting your people, though not at the cost of turning nature against them. Having antlers might signify that the shamare went off the deep end, becoming a beastly thing of the wilds, caring little for other ponies and perhaps even being hostile to them. A radical extremist druid/hippy sort of deal.
