Do trees in Equestria shed their leaves at all on their own, or does it require ponies to make it happen?

The trees will shed leaves on their own for a year or two, and only then, if ponies won't get back to work, reality will begin to fail apart.

>>42587618I think some of the leaves fall on their own but ponies need to help finish debulking the trees by the end of autumn so that rhey can properly start beginning Winter. Similar to Winter Wrap Up, most of Equestria does this with magic, but Ponyville does it traditionally.
