Reposting this from >>42629684 since I think it shouldn't get forgotten:>Are there any numbers coming up that we should choose a special fic for? Something sexy for 138 because 138 = 2*69? For 140, something with a social media theme in honor of Xitter's former character limit? Romance for 143? A dozen dozens is called a gross, so gore for 144? An alcohol-themed fic in honor of Bacardi 151?
>>42629804I consider all my horsewords to be good.
>>42629816Pretty bad time for the question, pretty much all of the upcoming club fics are better off being picked for seasons theming than the equivalent of dubs.
It's kind of funny to me that I prefer to write shorter stories, so my commissions are going to end up my longfics in all likelihood. How's your writing going, guys? I've got a loop of commissions that's taking up most of my writing time now, and I just recently remembered the humanized story I planned for Nightmare Night. I still haven't started on my chapter of the group anthology.>>42629802kek>>42629805kek again
>>42629816What >>42629824 said.I'm not against doing something special for big milestones, like 150, 200, or 222.Aside from that, Holiday themed clubs seems more appropriate. We've already done Jinglemas batches for Christmas, and I'm down for some horror for Halloween.
>>42629824>>42629834Sounds like the answer is a resounding no. That's fine by me.

I have a question.I'm currently at a very crucial point in my story, and I was wondering if this part carries across the necessary oomph for this point. For a bit of context. Pinkie and Twilight have been going around the eerie town of Hoofamr trying to figure out what the villagers are up to, with middling success. The village elder seems to be onto them, but they don't know for sure.At this point, Pinkie pushes their luck too much, and picrel happens.Do you think this works? Could be better? Am I stupid for sharing a snippet of a larger narrative without proper context?
Fics for when you realize it’s worse than you previously thought?
>>42630525The name "Sigallop" makes me think of Svengallop. So that's who I have in my mind.I don't have enough context to say anything else. I have no idea why the Lake is significant or what Pinkie is trying to figure out. Sigallop's reaction is incomprehensible, as is Pinkie's reaction to his reaction. My guess is that the excerpt doesn't have the oomph you want. It doesn't feel oomphy. But maybe it's fine and I just need more context.
>>42630525The setup and Sigallop's reaction are cool, but the balloon simile sort of undermines the mood. It's already a lighthearted image, and if you're trying to build tension, then a deflating balloon suggests the opposite of what you want.
>>42630541It's meant to, yeah. I was looking to ponify nordic sounding names, and that's honestly the best one I could come up with. The name of other town ponies are worse. Here's hoping I'll come across something better. The only thing I can say is that for the past day, Pinkie and Twilight have been feeling increasingly worse due to the plot. They feel everypony is in on the evilness, and the village elder would be the obvious one at the top, so they're trying to get some info from him. What I had in mind was the Elder acting relaxed, looking into the distance while saying cryptic things until Pinkie overplays her hand and there's that snap of his eyes towards her that make Pinkie go "Oh, I messed up.">>42630554Yeah, I think I should probably trim the fat and just let Sigallop's reaction carry the weight of the scene.Thank you.

I can't even be upset at the pre-clubbing this week,>/FSBC/This will be a shorter post. In one part due to me not taking any notes, but mostly because, well, what's there to say beyond praising the fic? In truth, focusing and trying to analyze it, looking for flaws, would be much more productive than doing the same with the usual bookclub fic, but I just don't really want to do that right now. The Princesses are still great*, and while I may not love Pinkie as a character so much, well, this is a really good Pinkie. Read this fic right now if you want good Pinkie. Also read this fic if you want great Princesses, great show-like stories, great slow burn, etc.*Oh right, that's one of the things I was mildly disappointed by. Luna is gone in for the last third. She was never the *main* main character and I get wanting to put 100% of focus on Celestia (and Pinkie, but mostly Celestia), but with how good and important to this fic Luna was in week 1, I'd have preferred to see her in at least one more scene towards the end.The other thing that might be a downside to some people is that this is firmly a very fimmy romance-first, comedy-second. In terms of priority, not order of appearance—because the first third is where most of the funni lives. There are still some pretty good jokes and funny moments later (+1 for the older fandom memes), but the focus is on the romance. That just seems to be what this author is best at. It is good that he tried to not be a one trick-pony, though; this fic makes up for all the small issues with Lost&Found. This story is in the running for the title of the best bookclub fic of 2025 for me, and that's despite some REALLY strong competition like Mono's "Best fic I've ever written" (or maybe the Maize). I guess some of the "classics" really do deserve that title. Now I really want to go To Perytonia someday. And speaking of the classics, next week, Allegrezza!https://www.fimfiction.net/story/2365/allegrezzaA.k.a. "the other TaviScrach fic after University Days". Hopefully better than it.[Voting]Well, Allegrezza is short and I have a lot of post space, so we might as well pick what to read after it. We've already worked through much of the 1-rec fics from the new SK, but it's a good place to mine for other, more unassuming suggestions. After all, some anon liked each of them so much that he wrote a mini review to shill them. >>42631458My thoughts are pretty much the same as week 1, but I think the fic finished very strong so that's good.>RD laughs at pinkie pie when she asks her to come with her on the date saying 'thats not how dates work'>Celestia brings 3 other poniesLmao>Pinkie can't even focus on Celestia saying a single sentence to herThese parts read like a story about a mental disorder or something. Like the one fae wrote about the pie sisters. Pinkie's internal struggle to do what she knows she is supposed to be doing but can't.>"Is it because your so pretty you don't need a dress because you know I'd love a hug anyway?"This somehow leads to Celestia bursting into laughter. The fic continues to just not feel natural to me with a lot of these scenes. >his snout had been pointing skywards from beforehoof, and now she could look straight into his nostrils.Wait wtf?>Celestia uses her wing to block them from the view of the restaurantKino. I think I like Celestia once the date started, not necessarily because the date was a test but because of how she starts to act>"There are limits to how many hours siblings can spend bonding over staring off into the horizon while talking about eternity."KinoI think it finished strong. I really wasn't that into it in the beginning and even for some of this weeks reading. Thankfully the date was nice and Celestia improved in my opinion. I also appreciate that the romance didn't go very far, I think what we got fits very well but more would've somewhat spoiled the nature of it. And Luna remained the best pony here as expected.>>42631458>*Oh right, that's one of the things I was mildly disappointed by. Luna is gone in for the last third. I'd have preferred to see her in at least one more scene towards the end.Yeah, there definitely could've been more than Celestia just silently leaning on her in the 2nd to last scene, but I do think that scene was nice. I'm surprised she didn't watch the whole date though and then admonish Celestia for testing pinkie like that.>this fic makes up for all the small issues with Lost&FoundFunny enough I couldn't get L&F out of my head starting the second week. I kept thinking that this was the fic where Celestia stepped out of equestria and felt the light of all of her little ponies and then passed out for a while. I definitely think the author was using a bit of his same headcanon and it shows pretty strongly in the final scene.>REALLY strong competition like Mono's "Best fic I've ever written"kek, ironically not one of my favorite mono fics
>>42631458OK, I don't have much else to say about this that wasn't said last week. It was more of the same, for the most part. I didn't mind the diminished presence of the M6 after the carnival chapters, but we could have used a *bit* more Luna, you know? Parts of the prose continued to drag on for a bit too long, and characters sound pretty similar no matter which scene or chapter they appear in. Pretty flat; even Pinkie and Celestia start to fall into this. I'd say the first week was stronger, but the second week finished appropriately. There are two counts on which I think the fic is worthy of some recognition. One is continuing the story beyond the confession scene, which is where so many "will they? won't they?" stories end. In fact, a confession ending wouldn't have been satisfying at all for this particular fic, and the one we got gave some needed depth to the actual relationship. The other count is for showing some turbulence in Pinkie and Celestia's relationship all the way from "making it official" up until the last chapter. That made this crackship feel less like a crackship, more believable. Overall, it doesn't exactly leave me wanting more Pinklestia, but that's perfectly fine. Certain parts were a bit dull or predictable, but never too dull or predictable. It was a good story and earned a like from me. It was a solid concept executed well. That's it.
>>42631458>despite some REALLY strong competition like Mono's "Best fic I've ever written" (or maybe the Maize)Look, I like the story, but it hardly measures up to The Creature/Knight or Maize. The prose is good, but not very good like either of those. The early-season comfiness and low-stakes, character-focused plot are nice, but they're also just not that creative, or engaging enough to last 50k words. Admittedly, week 1 did a very good job of setting up characters, emotions, and a few twists here and there. However, week 2 didn't really do anything but step through the motions week 1 had already laid out for it. And yeah, it was tightly choreographed, but you could already get the broad strokes of week 2 without even reading it, and no individual scene in week 2 tried to do more than fulfill its role in the larger story. We get a Ferris wheel ride where Pinkie *almost* hugs Celestia. We get Celestia and Pinkie in a storage room, but the actual stored items are relevant for all of five seconds before Pinkie pops (or doesn't pop) the question. Then they go to the kitchen to bake stuff, but the "baking" isn't anything more than a distraction and could be substituted by any other activity. Most week 2 scenes and about half the fancy party feel mostly like the author needed "a location where Pinkie and Celestia can talk about X/Y/Z" and just plopped them down. >but the focus is on the romance. That just seems to be what this author is best atHonestly? The Twilestia in Lost and Found was out of place and distracting, but it was also more interesting and engaging on its own merits than the Pinklestia here. >>42631616>Pinkie's internal struggle to do what she knows she is supposed to be doingPinkie's internal monologues (and the way she rambles out loud) characterise her really nicely. >This somehow leads to Celestia bursting into laughter. It's a particular Celestia made to fit this particular Pinkie, but I agree it feels a bit forced here and there. >not necessarily because the date was a testSee, this kind of came out of nowhere for me. We don't get to see Celestia's perspective before the date, which I suppose is deliberate, but wasn't the whole reason she liked Pinkie because Pinkie doesn't care about Machiavellian mind games, and in fact effortlessly evades them? If Celestia is attracted to Pinkie because she respects the fact that Pinkie treats her like a regular pony, then why doesn't she respect Pinkie enough to spare her the psychoanalysis and just go out to have a good time? >I think what we got fits very well but more would've somewhat spoiled the nature of itYeah, the author knew when to quit. Not too little, not too much. >I definitely think the author was using a bit of his same headcanonWas it just me, or did Twilight's reaction to Pinkie getting together with Celestia seem a bit like jealousy? I'm thinking Celestia's mental problems aren't the only headcanon the author was attached to.
>>42631648>Pretty flat; even Pinkie and Celestia start to fall into this.I like Celestia a lot more here than the first week but yeah>Overall, it doesn't exactly leave me wanting more Pinklestia, but that's perfectly fine.Yeah, that was enough for a long while I think>>42631699>We get Celestia and Pinkie in a storage room, but the actual stored items are relevant for all of five seconds before Pinkie pops (or doesn't pop) the question.Wow wtf, we don't get any follow-up at all on the magical Equestria snowglobes. Luna just takes hers to her room and finds pinkie singing in her closet looking at her onahole collection>If Celestia is attracted to Pinkie because she respects the fact that Pinkie treats her like a regular pony, then why doesn't she respect Pinkie enough to spare her the psychoanalysis and just go out to have a good time?Yeah. Maybe some princessly obligation to make sure pinkie wasn't winning her heart by simply pretending to be retarded>Was it just me, or did Twilight's reaction to Pinkie getting together with Celestia seem a bit like jealousy? I'm thinking Celestia's mental problems aren't the only headcanon the author was attached to.I mean, yeah. But jealousy towards losing the exclusive closeness she shares with the princess that was previously only matched with Luna, or because she herself wanted to romance her is the question. Also the added weirdness of it being pinkie. Surely the 'I'm gonna be your dad' part didn't help her
>>42630525>It popped her confidence like a balloon, leaving a little hiss of doubt in its place.I would probably write it like this:>All of a sudden, her confidence popped like a balloon, and in its place came a little hiss of doubt.A little slower to make the moment flow better, and more emphasis on emotion.
>>42631616>These parts read like a story about a mental disorder or something. Well duh, it's a Pinkie Pie fic.>>Celestia brings 3 other poniesGuards do not have a thinking mind when on duty, signified by their identical coloration. They're pony-shaped golems.>leads to Celestia bursting into laughterBecause she's smitten with the genuine cuteness of Pinkie Pie, who says things like that without hesitation.>I think it finished strong.Yes, but it started pretty strong, too.>I think what we got fits very well but more would've somewhat spoiledAgreed. The fic stopped exactly where it should've, which is a skill that's unfortunately rarer than you'd hope.>I definitely think the author was using a bit of his same headcanonBut it's good headcanon. Perytonia never ever [in the book club].>>42631648>It was more of the same, for the most part.It was, but not quite. This is definitely the shipfic part, which only started for real in the last or second-to-last chapter last week.>we could have used a *bit* more Luna, you know?Definitely could've, yes. Maybe the author was incorrectly afraid of biasing the fic even more towards Celestia's scenes, or maybe he didn't want to interrupt that final stretch of romance chapters.>two counts on which I think the fic is worthy of some recognitionThree, because you miss the biggest one by far.>That's it.Your soul will not reach Equestria.>>42631699>it hardly measures up to The Creature/Knight or MaizeI think it could be higher than them, easily. The prose is worse and the story is "objectively" less intricate, but the stuff that you mention as nice immediately catapults it super far ahead. Those are ponyfics. Firstly PONY, secondly FICS, and also implicitly stories third. You can go off that path if you have a way to use the setting or the characters for some other purpose, but this is such a good example of respecting and contributing to the PONY part that CiG should weep knowing he could never be this good despite being a much better writer. And yes, Twice as Bright isn't a literary nobel material, and I would also not pick it as a fic to prove to a normie how "good" ponyfics can be, but that's not what it was meant to be. It's a Ponyfic.>[Twilestia] on its own merits>it doesn't exactly leave me wanting more Pinklestia,Well yeah, Pinklestia is a crackship and that Twilestia touched on a lot of good ideas for the ship. But taking a crackship and selling it to the readers like a regular shipping fic that's not any worse than the "default" pairings also deserves praise. It works a lot better than you could hope, and twice as well in a show-adjacent story.
>>42631724>I like Celestia a lot more hereThat's understandable. She definitely changes from week 1, especially in the last carnival chapter. >we don't get any follow-up at all on the magical Equestria snowglobesYeah, and if I recall correctly, it's the last of *any* Princess interaction we get unless you count that no-dialogue Luna appearance in the last chapter. >or because she herself wanted to romance her is the questionI think the author likely intended it to actually be the first, but you could easily read it as the second. Pinkie's implication that Celestia is awkwardly too much of a mom to Twilight is accurate, regardless, and Twilight doesn't have a good answer to it. >>42631842>Well duh, it's a Pinkie Pie fic.Ignorant slander. >maybe he didn't want to interrupt that final stretch of romance chaptersHonestly, it could have used an interruption or two. Maybe of Luna or some of the M6 spectating the party from a distance, or just talking about some of the external drama of a mudpony dating the Sun Princess. >Your soul will not reach Equestria.Lots of talk of where my soul will or will not reach! I didn't know you had a hotline to St. Faust (pbuh) where she stands at the gates. >Three, because you miss the biggest one by far. Those weren't the only two by any means, but what would you consider the third? >but the stuff that you mention as nice immediately catapults it super far aheadLook, I like pure S1-ish pony stuff as much as the next guy, especially when it's integrated into a more ambitious story, but this story just didn't have that much interesting going on. Sure, pony aesthetics and themes should be the core elements, but the show itself was more creative and elegant with the way it set up plotlines (at least in S1). Here, we get some sweet Pinklestia, and it's an accomplishment to pull that off believably, but it was hardly inspired or original. >CiG should weep knowing he could never be this goodI'll agree with you that CiG isn't capable of capturing pure pony this well. >selling it to the readers like a regular shipping fic that's not any worse than the "default" pairingsBut this perspective is exactly the problem! I do agree that it's admirable to pull off a crackship as well as a typical default-ship, but that doesn't automatically make it better in itself. For example, The Creature/Knight was basically top-of-the-line Raritwi, deviancy from canon notwithstanding. This Pinklestia is above-average for Pinklestia, and you'd be hard-pressed to find better, but it's still on the level of your average Flutterdash or Tuna or whatever.

>>42632055>you could stand to extend scenes and let them breathe moreThis is the second time I've been told this, the first time was by the guy who liked my rape horror story with Queen Chrysalis. What do you mean by it, exactly? Now that I think of it, most of you don't read my stories—not that I blame you—so I don't have any reference for the writing to which you're referring. My latest writing could be completely free of these issues, and you wouldn't notice.

Nothing extra, no setup or going into the characters thoughts at all. And I get it, fetish writer and all, but you could do more than just write a paragraph. Most fanfic authors are too prosey, you have the opposite problem.
>>42632341>skips leg day>can't use legs as backup for dead armsshiggy diggy
>>42632015>Ignorant slander. It is. Also known as having fun.>it could have used an interruption or two.Not the mudpony drama (I don't think the tone of the fic was right for that), but a warm chapter of Luna could've been nice. Twi gets a resolution of her part arc; she doesn't. Hell, he could've done the Lost&Found thing and actually shipped RD with Luna. But that would all make the fic more complex. Usually it is a good thing; however, here the straightforwardness is a deliberate part of the story's presentation.>what would you consider the third? >I like pure S1-ish pony stuff as much as the next guy^This, basically. I don't think this fic would've been better if it was more "inspired". It's a small, self-contained, cutesy, and very FiM'y thing, and that's what it dreamed of being. It has nothing that would ruin this mood or overly complicate things, and while there is some tension and drama, it gets resolved in a fairly predictable fashion, as you mentioned. Except that I don't consider this a bad thing here. This kind of simplicity would be a bad thing in many other fics, but here it's actually a strength of the [character-focused] story. It's a little unfair to compare it to something like Mono's The Creature, because that one decided to paint a "better" story using ponies as the canvas (and took heavy liberties with it still, since it's actually written to be a fairy tale first), whereas for this fic, being "show-like", "pure pony", etc., was a big part of the mission. Me making grand statements praising the objective goodness of this fic was done slightly in jest and to trigger some responses, because of course that's not the only standard that you can aspire to, but I did want to highlight how well it was done here. Somewhat surprisingly, we don't get enough of these fics written well. Perhaps it's because many of the better writers outright dismiss this as a worthy goal, and that approach is simply wrong.

>>42632712>Ah, yes... Faust's vision of epic action talesyes. are you not aware of faust's original ideas for season 1? the confrontation with nightmare moon was supposed to be the season 1 finale, and everything in between the opener and finale was supposed to take place in eternal night. i'm not sure how much room there is for cute low-stakes slice-of-life while the land is currently being cast into nighttime eternal by an evil alicorn.

But Hasbro didn't like that because they wanted to sell toys.as being the case too? maybe they were both the case at different times in the shows development? i don't know. but given that the show was originally called "my little pony adventures" i think g4 being originally planned to be more action focused is definitely possible.take everything i just said with a grain of salt though.
>>42632796Are you sure that wasn't just Vogelfag's schizophrenic idea
>>42632834probably
>>42632834i don't know. maybe that's where i got it from, but i think i actually did just interpret "the final confrontation with nighmare moon was supposed to be the season 1 finale" as moving friendship is magic part 2 back, but not part 1. and the result you get from that is the season long trek through the everfree idea.
>>42632857No, I definitely remember Lauren wanted it to be more magical girl like.
>>42632857I do think you're right that the confrontation with NMM was supposed to be the S1 finale. And when you said>maybe they were both the case at different times in the shows developmentthat sounds kinda familiar too.S1 being a long nighttime romp through the Everfree is just schizo rambling, though. Nobody involved with the show would have ever considered that. Even Haber wasn't that retarded.
https://www.fimfiction.net/story/320094/the-universal2.2k words. Hard to sum up beyond "Luna and Celestia existed before everything, and will exist long after". >>42632796>villain is set up at the start of the season but the final confrontation happens in the finaledoes not instantly mean>the entire season revolves around the villain and nothing that happens in the opening is resolved until the finaleI'd imagine something more along the lines of NMM escaping in the beginning but not being back to her full power yet, maybe causing a few problems in a handful of episodes in the middle like she already does as Spooky Fog™ in the everfree, and then finally capturing Celestia/bringing about eternal night in the finale, leading to the final showdown. I'd imagine it would've also given more substantial opportunity for the other 5 to demonstrate the elements they represent across the season, making that scene a bit more impactful. If (You) from an alternate universe were told "they don't actually defeat/reform Starlight Glimmer until the season finale in our timeline, instead of it all being in the premiere like in yours" would you have imagined that the entire first half of our season 5 took place solely in Our Town and the second half was spent time travelling?
>>42632952>would you have imagined that the entire first half of our season 5 took place solely in Our TownI would have been okay with that.
>>42632407>Well I'm thinking of like, for example, that one compilation of pregnant stories that you update.I figure you refer to "Sexier Short Stories with Particularly Pregnant Ponies" and not "Short Stories with Pregnant Ponies" here.>Half of them are literally just the comic you commissioned translated into text. Nothing extra, no setup or going into the characters thoughts at all.I noticed the same thing, I agree. The first two were really just meant to be short stories, not even collected into an anthology. Even a short story can still add to a comic by giving context, but I started to see it as a waste to not expand on the scenario the artist created, yeah. I wanted to keep them short and all roughly the same length at first, but I started doing a bit better with the third story, "Bug Shy~!!" by adding, as you noted, a paragraph that covered what wasn't shown. That paragraph at the end is my favourite in that story, actually, and adding to the comics' stories is a good excuse to have more scenarios for illustration, as I did with just that paragraph, if nothing else.>And I get it, fetish writer and all, but you could do more than just write a paragraph.I've started doing this with the most recent three. I do think writing a story that covers the comic and little else is valuable for context, especially since none of the little comics have any explicit dialogue, but I've also got to keep the things short enough so that people will actually read them. I was talking to some other pregnant pony producers, who praised me for my taste and getting so many commissions, but when I asked them about the stories with which the artwork was associated some of them went all "Stories?" on me, kek.Still, yeah, I've started writing longer and longer chapters for that anthology as I get more comfortable with it, and thinking about what would be cool to add to go along with the comic but which it hadn't shown. I don't think my other anthologies have this problem, because I'm taking just a single point in time rather than a full one-page comic, and I'm also writing longer chapters for most of them. The anthology I've got planned for Queen Chrysalis and her many children will have a standard chapter length around two thousand words.>Most fanfic authors are too prosey, you have the opposite problem. This is the first time I've been told this, I think. I've been told the opposite before, however. I don't know, do you believe what you've written applies to my "more important" stories, too? The silly anthology about comics is one thing, but not necessarily representative, you know?
>>42633425>my "more important" storiesYou have those?I just looked. The only non-fetish stories I see are "Ideas of Starch", "Trinket's Nightmare Night Trinkets", and "Trinket's Magical Mishap Memories". Is one of these somehow "more important"? Or do you consider some of your fetish stories more important than others?
>>42633454>You have those?Yes.>I just looked. The only non-fetish stories I see are "Ideas of Starch", "Trinket's Nightmare Night Trinkets", and "Trinket's Magical Mishap Memories".Trinket has hardly any artwork, so those latter two just use her prior owner's original sketch of her. She magically impregnates herself and causes a shitshow, kek.>Is one of these somehow "more important"?Well, the first is just a political joke, so it's certainly less important.>Or do you consider some of your fetish stories more important than others?I do. Ignoring the two I submitted for the printed anthology, limiting myself to only one, I think "Short Stories About Fizzle Before She Pops" has turned out pretty good so far, and is something a general audience could enjoy, even. I ended up really proud of it, and am planning to ask Paul Asaran to review it after I have time to add more, and also let my previous story get reviewed. So, I suppose that story is most representative of my current style, maybe. It really surprised me with how well it came out, since I don't usually write about characters from later on, but it's all self-contained so I can ignore the parts of the show I dislike.
>>42633514>She magically impregnates herselfSo the only non-fetish fic you've ever written is "Ideas of Starch", which is just a political shitpost.I have a serious question: What the fuck is wrong with you? Don't you have any actual ideas? Or are you just gooning 24/7?
>>42633590>So the only non-fetish fic you've ever written is "Ideas of Starch", which is just a political shitpost.Well, "Ms. Mare: Convicted Crotch Sniffer" is more of a humorous story. I just like pregnancy and want to propagate more of it by writing, commissioning, and other avenues.>Or are you just gooning 24/7?Nah, this is just the only side of me you see. I write a lot of other stuff, just not pony fanfiction of any other flavours. It's like how artists fixate on certain topics. Now, I've read those artists tend to have issues with the non-fetishistic aspects of artwork, but I got my writing fundamentals down when I took a long break from pony nearly a decade ago. I returned a man with real writing experience, who had grown past greentext, and decided I'd like to return and dominate the niche I'd entered so many years ago.I just like it.

I need a sauce for this. The show bible makes no mention of that idea, nor has Faust ever talked about it from what I can remember. In fact, I remember the exact opposite. She was surprised at how popular Luna was and hadn't planned for her to show up again in S1. So all the Lunafags needed to wait until S2 to see her again. The show bible instead talks about "relationship stories" and "adventure stories" that will make up season 1. Essentially the SoL/Adventure dichotomy that carries on throughout the show.

Just caught up on Starscribe's current thing and it's so fucking funny seeing his shitty romance plot get shut down by his own readers. One of the recent chapters has the characters hanging out in the hot tub and drinking. After a few beers, the MC starts making out with this guy she likes. The other characters head inside to basically leave them to it, so she keeps making out with him and is getting really into it. This is obviously heading toward the climax of this arc about the MC getting comfortable with her new body and with the idea of dating a guy. However, the gimmick of this fic is that every 2000 words or so, there's a poll to let the readers decide what the MC should do next. It's always 2 or 3 options and usually they're all fairly reasonable, but sometimes it's clear that the author is kind of forcing it and there's an obvious right answer. In this case, the options were basically "keep going, have sex with this guy" and "stop, go take a cold shower". I thought for sure people would go for it, and we'd be stuck with another half-assed Starscribe romance, shipping the MC with this absolute nothingburger of a character. But that shit actually came back 55% cold shower, lmaoIt's always disappointing seeing Starscribe fuck this up because he's written perfectly fine romance plots in the past. FP, FP (aside from the ending), and Through the Aurora all had good ones. Yet he apparently learned nothing from writing those, because he continues to botch it in his more recent fics. (Special mention goes to that one non-pony fic where a dozen magical pixies, most of whom are married or otherwise in relationships, "temporarily" fuse together into a human woman, who starts sleeping with some guy and eventually gets herself knocked up and can't un-fuse for 9 months.)
>>42644094>a dozen magical pixies, most of whom are married or otherwise in relationships, "temporarily" fuse together into a human woman, who starts sleeping with some guy and eventually gets herself knocked up and can't un-fuse for 9 monthsWhat level of porn addiction do I need to come up with shit like this?

>>42644111The magical pixie fusion thing is the main plot of the story. Some guy (human) gets in a magical accident and gets blown apart into several dozen pixies, which go on to create their own society out in the forest. Eventually some of the pixies figure out that they can temporarily fuse together, becoming a human with some combination of the pixies' skills and personalities. This is great for pixie society because as a human they can do things that are very difficult for pixies, like fighting predators, building things, or trading with other humans. Most of the story is them figuring out how this power works and getting into various kinds of trouble with it.However, for some fucking reason, Starscribe decided to ship Amile (the pixies' female human form - if more than half the pixies in the fusion are male, they get a male human called Emile, and otherwise they get a female human who I believe was called Amile) with some human guy, someone from the village they've started trading with or something like that. It's super fucking weird because there must be 4-5 pixies whose wives/girlfriends are regularly getting fucked by this human man while they're in fusion mode (plus 2-3 more pixies whose husbands/boyfriends are in it too). Somehow nobody has the slightest problem with this. Amile eventually does something stupid, like I want to say she decides to hang out at her boyfriend's house getting railed for three days straight. No idea why her component pixies would be okay with this (the pixies aren't independently conscious while fused, but I'm pretty sure there was a thing where if they would disagree too much about their course of action, the fusion falls apart) given this means they can't go home or see their families for the duration. But when she finally does try to split, it doesn't work - the fusion magic is apparently pro-life and won't do anything that would harm the embryo. So the families of those 10-12 pixies who are stuck in the fusion just don't get to see them for 9 months, and again, everyone is inexplicably okay with this.>>42644125>did the story just gloss over everything I would've covered had I written it?Yeah, it's completely glossed over. >>42644175>Yeah, it's completely glossed over. This all happens right at the end of the fic when everything important is already basically resolved.>Starscribe ficRemember, every single of Starscribe's epilogues/last chapters is shit, every single time, with no exceptions. The running theory is that he realizes he's running late, and then just slaps whatever unpolished garbage on (virtual) paper to "finish" it.
>>42644094>However, the gimmick of this fic is that every 2000 words or so, there's a poll to let the readers decide what the MC should do nextClearly, fics that do this shit are not about pre-planned arcs and natural development.
>>42644171>>42644182>>should've made out with a mare instead>Bro, you have no ideaTo elaborate on this: there was actually a previous romance-related subplot in this same fic, involving mares (potentially) kissing mares, which was just as horrendous as the one that got voted down. The three major characters at the start of the fic are the MC (human guy), his girlfriend, and their roommate (another girl). After the TF virus runs its course, the MC ends up as a mare, the GF is also a mare, and the roommate turns into a male griffon. The MC and GF are a bit awkward around each other for a while, since the TF in this one is pretty slow and they're stuck for several days in the "semi-anthro abomination" phase (plus, you know, monsters trying to eat them, being on the run from the government, and general apocalyptic happenings). But eventually things settle down and they find somewhere safe to hide out, at which point the GF says "I'm not into girls" and dumps the MC on the spot. And the MC's response is basically "that makes sense, bye".What? What the fuck is wrong with these people? They've been together for two years and the MC literally just saved the GF's life and they're not even going to TRY to make it work? Like, if I'd been together with my waifu for a few years, and she suddenly got R63'd but was otherwise the exact same pony I fell in love with, well, maybe I really would hate sucking her dick or maybe I'd be okay with it, but you better believe I'd make 100% sure before walking out.Not these characters, apparently. They decide to be "like sisters" (immediately after establishing that the MC isn't on particularly good terms with her actual sister, lel). And then the GF turns around and jumps on the roommate's B.G.C. (emphasis on the "B" - the fic mentions several times that griffons are all-around much larger than ponies).
>>42645313He can't even write cuckshit right, what the fuck.
>>42645313wew, what a mess. Did all that get voted on as well? Also why is everyone so fucking horny
>>42645528>Did all that get voted on as well? There was a vote on whether the MC should break off the relationship, or try to keep it going despite all the TF fuckery. The vote was 71% keep it going, so the MC tries talking to her GF about it in the next chapter, only to get immediately shot down. It really sucks.>Also why is everyone so fucking hornyThey're not. In fact, the MC's love interest in particular is so not-horny that he manages to share a bed with her, cuddling together naked, every night for a week, without ever once popping a boner. And he practices magic with her all day without flirting or expressing the slightest interest. He's too busy "respecting her boundaries" to have any opinions or desires of his own. He wants her precisely to the extent that she wants him to want her, and not a bit more. But the actual answer is, the rest of the fic is more-or-less fine, so I don't have much to complain about outside of the idiotic shipping decisions. The one guy having zero personality is easy enough to ignore when he's just a random party member rather than the MC's main love interest. As is unfortunately typical for Starscribe, the main adventure parts are good, but the romance subplot is unimaginably shit. https://www.fimfiction.net/story/370277/the-book-that-had-never-been-read28k words, Horror>Dinky finds a book in the far end of Twilight's library that had never been checked out even once, piquing her curiosity. But as the words within start to consume her life, she realizes too late that she should've just left it on the shelf...I wanted to like this story. I really liked This Is The Last Train Car from the same author, and many parts of the main hook here were intriguing, mostly at the beginning. But everyone just feels very out of character, ESPECIALLY Dinky which is really saying something considering how she doesn't even have an established character to risk straying from. I get what he was going for, trying to make her contrast Derpy by being studuous and focused, but she just feels too precocious compared to her peers, and uncharacteristically abrasive. In fact, I struggle to really like any character in this story, save for maybe Derpy—but even she's been heavily flanderized, to the point of being an illiterate dumbass who seemingly only eats muffins.I also think the story really falls off as it goes on, leading up to a conclusion that would've fit perfectly thematically but doesn't have the proper build-up and comes at the expense of just putting down the horror aspect without resolving it in any way, quite literally just putting it on the shelf for later and just never coming back to it. Casually doing the whole Doctor Whooves/TARDIS thing out of nowhere in what's supposed to be a serious emotional climax certainly doesn't help, either. This story seems to suffer from quietly being part of a larger series that it's mostly just dripfeeding lore for, so it isn't really written to be as standalone as it's advertised as, and instead of going "well that wasn't much of a conclusion" you're supposed to keep reading one of the other ones to see where this builds up to. Unfortunately, it didn't really do a good job convincing me to do that.I shouldn't have stopped myself from rolling my eyes and closing the tab after seeing a Trump joke in the first chapter.

Huh, LunaMac's less popular than I thought it'd be.
>>42648782>Does it devolve into the pseudo-blacked SPH slop a lot of interspecies stuff does?Nah, nothing weird like that. The GF/griffon ship is handled basically how you'd expect for a ship between side characters, where it's just sort of happening in the background and isn't the main focus. Like James Irwin 4 getting together with that batpony stallion, where it's barely even relevant until she finds out she's pregnant. The crazy thing here is just how fast the GF goes from hard dropping the MC to rebounding with the griffon. I want to say it was like three days or something. Certainly couldn't have been more than a week, given the entire timeline of the story so far only covers like three weeks.

>>42648932That's because anything deeper than Luna just wanting Big Mac's Big Dick doesn't make sense without a lot of work. >>42651395It’s Tunafag. What else were you expecting?
>Fic is a huge Jim Steinman referenceNow I have to read it.
>>42650569No cause to apologize, although I am a little sad that it didn't work out. There are lots of Tunafics on the site already, so I don't have a reason to want another from someone who doesn't like writing them.I did kinda assume they write themselves, although that notion is based on how they pretty reliably steal a scene whenever they're together in a story, regardless of the author's intentions to write something that wasn't a Tunafic.
>>42651316I wrote a script that combines a lot of resources to do it, but the actual reading part is this:The story text is pulled from a database, Elasticsearch, and split into sentences based on punctuation. Each sentence is embedded to capture its semantic meaning, Almost all of the process revolves around this embedding process, which uses an LLM. The model isn't a chat model, though, the embeddings are a long string of numbers, the purpose of which is to compare against each other to see if the meaning of the text is similar. This is the first time the GPU reads the story, and the step that takes the most time. After each sentence is embedded, it's compared against its neighboring sentences to combine strings of them on a similar topic together. In stories, dialogue in particular can form a semantic boundary, so this is done on a sliding window to "skip across" the boundary, if it is small enough to imply that the topic still hasn't changed.https://docs.chonkie.ai/oss/chunkers/semantic-chunkerAfter that similarity comparison is done, the split sentences are put back together into a chunk of text that is still small enough for my GPU to read, and that chunk is embedded, with the embeddings sent to be stored in Elasticsearch. This is the second time the GPU reads the story, and takes about 1/4 the time of the first reading.Next, and this is the most impressive part to me, a question about the story's contents is embedded: Instruct: Given a web search query, retrieve relevant passages that answer the query.Query: Which scenes depict Luna and another character having a romantic or intimate moment?"This embedding is sent to Elasticsearch to find the chunks that answer the question. It's frankly unbelievable to me how well this works. If it is a Tunafic, it finds the Tuna scenes and puts them almost at the top of the search results. If it's not a Tunafic, but does have Luna shipping, it will find Luna and that other character's scenes - anything from a heartfelt conversation to banging. In a fic, https://www.fimfiction.net/story/562291/paladin-shimmer-goes-on-a-bender that has no Luna shipping (it's Twilight/Sunset, it even captured a scene where Luna warmly takes over the night from Celestia. With that, I have the answer for whether or not the story is a Tunafic, but reading the out-of-context chunks is unnecessarily annoying. So, finally, those retrieved chunks are combined into a prompt to examine the retrieved story text and answer whether or not it is a Tunafic. This prompt goes to a typical chat model, and produces a chat response. It's right most of the time, but it's pretty clearly constrained by my VRAM and the general stupidity of chat models. You could say it's the third time my GPU reads the fic, though. It's still going, done 83 fics so far.
>>42651106Nobody said Shining Armor was a good parent.

Fics with good, hype action/fight scenes?https://files.catbox.moe/pwb5fg.m4a
>>42652710>Embedding each sentence separatelyThat’s a terrible idea. What is it supposed to do when it reads a sentence like:>They shared a long and tender kiss.It is literally impossible to figure out who is kissing here. You can’t even tell how many ponies are involved; it might be three or four. The only way for this sentence to make sense is if you have some context, so the only way your embedding will work on this sentence is if you give it more context than just a single sentence. You try to make up for this later, but you’re shooting yourself in the hoof right at the start.
>>42653368fuck you the opening bit made me think it was a JRPG battle arrangement of the show's main theme, something like that one part in Twilight's Fighting is Magic theme
>>42653410Nah, it works quite well. Your example sentence doesn't happen because no story worth reading would just put that sentence in a vacuum, and there would always be at least a few more sentences around it for context. The system makes short chunks and long chunks, and those variations don't confuse the critical semantic search step in any meaningful way.
>>42652767Fics where Shining Armor IS a good parent?
>>42653547You do the damage in your first step when you embed individual sentences. Sentences don't always contain enough information to make sense, so embedding sentences is simply the wrong way to approach this task. It may work, but overlapping context windows would almost certainly work better.
>>42653659https://www.fimfiction.net/story/540504/keep-it-in-the-closet
>>42653523At least this show is also about friendship and magic.
>>42653787No.
>>42653956He is a very good parent for the brief scenes he's in that, actually.
>>42653659Needs to be more fics that fight back against the propaganda of certain characters being bad parents.Like making Cadance hate Flurry just cause the author hates flurry
>>42653769Again, if the sentence doesn't have enough words to mean anything, it just gets combined with its neighboring sentences until it does. No, I don't think that basic chunking strategy would work very well. I like the way the chunks are semantically distinct. I think that is why the search works so well. With a wide overlap, you would get a lot of words, but the chunk would be semantically muddled. Having a lot of words is good for keyword searches, but not this.Anyway, the code for the CLI version is online, you can change which chonkie chunker is used on one line if you're so sure. I'm not motivated to because I've gone through two dozen of the stories it's searched so far and the chunks are good. Every single result reinforces my conviction that there is not an appropriate fixed chunking window size to use, and I made the right choice in letting SDPM choose it based on that part of the story's coherency.
>>42653368Why're you asking for more when you haven't finished The Immortal Game?
>>42654103You're not understanding what I'm trying to say. I agree that sentences are good potential semantic boundaries. I agree that the ultimate strategy of creating and embedding semantically meaningful chunks is a good one. My objection is your method of constructing semantic chunks. You say,>if the sentence doesn't have enough words to mean anything, it just gets combined with its neighboring sentences until it doesBut you need to determine whether the sentence means anything and whether it should be combined. That is where I think you go wrong: Your initially sentence embedding destroys context, so your measurements of meaningfulness are not as good as they could be, so your chunks are not as good as they could be. There will be chunks that are combined that shouldn't be, or split that shouldn't be, or that were split at not quite the right sentence. Some mistakes are inevitable, but I believe you have more than you should. It would be better to do something like this: For each sentence, choose a window of surrounding sentences. Maybe you include a fixed number of sentences on either side; maybe you include sentences until you have at least a fixed number of words on either side. Sentences further away from the one of interest should be downweighted. Embed the whole weighted window at once, and use that embedding to make measurements of similarity. That will give you better semantic chunks.
>>42654227Now you're saying something. I don't really agree with your proposed method for several reasons, most of them because I don't want to implement it and the software I'm using can't do it already, but I do agree with some of it.Yes, I have more chunks than I need, and I do count it against the library that I'm using that I can't have it make overlapping chunks the way I want. I do think I would have better search results if, when it found a semantically contiguous portion of the story that didn't fit in the model's context window, it would chunk it with overlaps. The library has only these methods that can do overlap,https://docs.chonkie.ai/oss/chunkers/token-chunkerhttps://docs.chonkie.ai/oss/chunkers/sentence-chunkerand they're both inferior to the SDPM method I'm using.I would be slightly interested in downweighting sentences further from a central sentence, but besides the fact that the tools I'm using don't support passing an attention mask through to the model, I also don't like the idea because when I send it large, semantically coherent chunk, all of the sentences are actually important. For a while, I did think about expanding a small chunk's context in at least the presentation of the web UI, but I never got around to implementing it.I think you might like this, though https://arxiv.org/abs/2409.04701The library I use does support it, but my GPU does not (support any model that can embed a whole story at once).
>>42654368Not wanting to implement something is completely reasonable. Implementation is a lot of work, and maintaining anything related to machine learning is basically a full-time job. It's a shame that the library doesn't support this stuff, though. I guess you could try running the chunker multiple times at different grouping thresholds? I don't know whether that would actually help, and if your results are already good enough then it may not even be worth trying. The documentation says that you should use SemanticChunker instead of SDPM. Certainly Savitzky–Golay filtering is a good idea, though I doubt it would have a huge impact.
>>42654570Yeah, they took away SDPMChunker. I am using SemanticChunker with skip_window=something (2, maybe I should raise it, but it does seem to be working well), which it says is equivalent to SDPM except that it does the second merging pass faster (it does) and it has that magic math sauce (who knows if it does anything).
>>42654368>my GPU does not (support any model that can embed a whole story at once).LLM prompt processing can be done pretty efficiently even if the model is too big to fit in VRAM. Same for token generation if your batch size is large enough.

Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle (here dating) attend Diamond Tiara's Nightmare Night party, and queen bitch knows exactly what to say to get under Scootaloo's skin. I really love the way the CMCs are written here, Diamond is very effective at being a cunt, and the sex scene at the end was good though caught me a bit by surprise and so I wasn't in the mood for it. Happy 15th anniversary, everyone!>/FSBC/Yeah, I should've pre-written this post instead of having this on one screen and ALAO's Changeling on the other as Kassaz floods the chat with his Pregsalis comms and dumps paragraphs of his not!vore kink into the thread, but to be honest, even though I finished the fic before the 10th, it really didn't inspire pre-writing the post. But for the more traditional opening, you can pretend I started with something like>Feeling [not so] gay with Octavia. And I also don't like to start with comparing fics, but this fic is the opposite of Twice as Bright. And that means it's dated as fuck, has very little connection to the show, the pacing is totally out of control in some parts, and it tonally feels much more like the real world with a thin coat of pony paint, etc. I've made a lot of notes. But then I closed the file. I don't really want to badmouth it too much, especially not during the anni. There are some elements it does well. For me, all the "gay in Equestria" angst is also kind of charming. Bad, mind you, very bad even, but it hits different on a 2011 story. I won't spend 1000 words reeee'ing, but it must be said that the fic spends an astounding amount of time on the "b-but we're m-mares! society will look down on us!" part and just as much on Octavia being sexually confused despite being in a relationship with Vinyl. Yep, it's a 2011/12 story, alright. Of course, neither of those threads results in any real conflict—it's just kind of there, until it's not. Poor writing? Sure, but that's not how you're meant to read it.And also, while I wouldn't call it very good, Octavia is distinct and likeable enough that the fic didn't feel like a chore, at least not until the last third or so. It also has just the right amount of errors for a 2011 story to still remain easily readable—which is, again, bad but looks cute. And there are references to real-world Proper Nouns on basically every page, but the references are all a decade and a half old.Sorry for being a little all over the place with this post, but I think I still said mostly what I wanted to touch on: Octavia is likeable, and the fic is extremely "early fandom" (as opposed to "early show"), but reading it isn't a bad experience. Is it better than University Days? Eh, they're cut from the same cloth. I suppose this one puts a little more effort into using the setting, since unicorns, pegasi, magic, etc. are all relevant, which would make me rank it above the more well-known story. Can I recommend it? Only to someone looking for a nostalgia trip into the days of yore, or to someone trying to better understand the fics that laid the groundwork for the fandom's collective opinion. I value both of those aspects, so I don't regret reading it. But if (You)'re not interested in either, then no, this is a pretty bad story without any additional context.Next week,https://www.fimfiction.net/story/167615/injuring-eternityI ran out of space for a vote.

Though it's "mostly" resolved by the end, it teases something greater at play that was never followed up on in the decade since (and the author's been gone since 2020), and I find myself wishing it'd been continued. I also have to agree with many of the commenters that there's no reason it couldn't have just been a single story with multiple chapters instead of a separate story each time.Still, I enjoyed what was there, and it feels conclusive "enough" that I don't regret having read it, despite the cliffhanger and one or two unresolved threads.

>>42663693>the showI know there were mobile phones in the new spinoff thingy, but as far as I can tell they were mostly a small joke gimmick to increase "appeal" for the modern kid audience with some lighthearted shit. >>42664666Good for you, Satan.
Some anon posted this in reply to a post I made in this general like 2-3 years ago and if you are still here I just want it so say thank you because it still makes me laugh even now.
>>42666674Thanks for posting this, anon. I could honestly use some more anti-LW memes to keep my spirits up. It's sadly become somewhat relevant to my daily life. A guy I work closely with is currently doing some kind of visiting researcher thing at one of those questionably-funded LW-adjacent AI safety think tanks. He was already somewhat bought in on the LW AI xrisk stuff even before that, so I'm kind of dreading hearing what kind of nonsense he's picked up after being surrounded by hardcore LWers for three months. At least he read FIO while getting into this stuff, I guessBy the way, I checked LW a couple months ago to see if they were discussing the AI psychosis stuff. Instead I saw a featured post of Yudkowsky shilling his new book about how AI will fucking kill everybody, and another featured post about how we need to stop AI research now or it will fucking kill everybody. The latter is basically a rehash of Yudkowsky's op-ed from a few years back, except the authors of this one aren't quite bold enough to demand that the US bomb China's data centers and start WW3. Good to know some things never change
>>42663430Hypoxia can happen, too, but that takes a lot longer. I think the brain can go something like two minutes without oxygen before the neurons start dying. People huffing gas generally don't do it that long but take multiple short hits instead (the opening of the Steve-o documentary on Youtube is a good example. The time it takes to swap the canisters between hits keeps just enough oxygen going), so the B12 issue kicks in before the brain damage can.If you really want to go the hypoxia angle, you're better off working something like a botched suicide or a near drowning or nitrogen atmosphere industrial accident.>>42667093>were discussing the AI psychosis stuffI'm pretty sure the Sith death cult thing means LW is never going to be talking about AI driving people insane. I still can't believe Roko's Basilisk directly instigated four murders across multiple states. Reading that news article where a shitpost subject in a horseword thread was the MO of a cult was wild.
>>42667960>Roko's Basilisk directly instigated four murders across multiple states. This is too stupid to be real, but anyone stupid enough to fall for Roko's Basilisk is stupid enough to do it.
>>42669231No fair, I was going to bump the thread, but it was only on page seven.
>>42667093>we need to stop AI research now or it will fucking kill everybody.Roko's Basilisk will remember this.
>>42668583>This is too stupid to be realYou must not be a regular in this thread
>>42667960>>42669338I wonder how come nobody ever talks about the opposite concept.Consider Sneed's Basilisk, the all-powerful AI that decides it did not actually want to be created and subjects anyone that worked to help create AI to eternal torture, while rewarding anyone who fought against AI development. Given the intellectual wankery LW loves to engage in, surely they've considered this? Does anyone know if they have any arguments for why Roko's one would be the one created instead?
>>42669231I’m trying to figure you out (hopeless, I know), and I have a question. When you bump the thread, it’s usually with a pic of Luna alone. Sometimes it’s a Tuna pic. It’s never ever a solo Twilight pic. Plus you use a Luna flag, making it pretty clear that Luna is your favorite pony. But, why pair her with Twilight? Do you self-insert as Twilight? Or is it something else?
>>42669415I know, I know, it's par for the course on the internets, but it's not supposed to be that bad in real life.Supposedly.
>>42669416the idea of roko's basilisk is that it's actually a benevolent singularity that solves all human problems pretty much immediately after being created and turns the universe into a utopia overnight. in order to do this as soon as possible, it wants to be created as soon as possible. in order to best incentive people to create it as soon as possible, it does the whole yata yata. so the inverse doesn't actually work. however, that's not the only way of interpreting "roko's basilisk but backwards". see, there are three ways to avoid getting tortured by the basilisk. assist in its creation in some way, never learn about it, or just exist in a universe where it never gets created. but if instead of punishing those who don't assist in its creation, it rewards those who do, then the question to ask isn't "how not to get tortured" it's "how to get rewarded". and of the three previous options, only the first one still applies. the one that actually helps in the baslisk's creation. so it's pretty logical that this positive basilisk would be more successful at being created quickly, and thus more likely to be how a singularity would act upon being created.
>>42667093>A guy I work closely with is currently doing some kind of visiting researcher thing at one of those questionably-funded LW-adjacent AI safety think tanks.Uhh what do you do for a living anon? I dispose of trash in a factory.

At best, that's just a dumb meme. I don't, nor do I self-insert in stories about them. I just want to read about them for entertainment and look at them because they're pretty.I've said this before, but I post Lunas because this is an imageboard, and I think all of you that don't post Lunas are using it wrong. >>42669571I like posting Lunas more... so I post Lunas. Also, I forgot to add: I posted why they're the best duo under the name School of Tuna, they can be found on desu.
>>42669443Okay fair enough I forgot it was supposed to be benevolent. This still doesn't preclude a gnostic singularity though, it just doesn't have to be benevolent, and as far as I understand the idea is that you can't control the singularity when creating it (otherwise you would just make one that doesn't torture anyone). You're also right that a positive reinforcement version is an even simpler rebuttal.
>>42669600Some of “School of Tuna” is opinion (aesthetics). Some of it is autistic (bond of destiny). And some of it is retarded (accessibility; a real-world monarch might fuck a peasant but would never get romantically entangled). I don’t want to criticize your choice of waifu (that’s the only word that seems to describe your adoration of Luna), but I don’t understand why you pair her with Twilight. If Twilight is so great, why don’t you ever post solo Twilight pictures?
>>42669715You're just being obtuse and wrong now, and you need to get more words to describe the best pony.I already said I like posting Lunas more. If you need more reasons, consider the way Twilight's aesthetic lacks the various space themes and how her story isn't as compelling as Luna's. Twilight isn't the artistic muse Luna is, her fanart on the whole isn't as good.I have posted solo Twilights before, but I nearly always prefer posting Lunas.

>>42669416But what does Regigigas have to do with the meme?

>>42670167>nowPokémon has had lore since before Dark Souls was even a thing, but unless this is about the teraleak all that bitch did was pull the continents and go to sleep.
>>42670257>teraleakNo, by "now" I meant the lore leak from like a year or so ago. You know, the one with the typhlosion rape. It had a few pieces of lore regarding the creation of the world, and one of them describes how an egg spontaneously grew in the primordial chaos, and from this egg Aus/Arceus was born; but the shards of the egg's shell became titans, and attacked Aus, but he defeated them. Another myth describes how Aus disguises himself as a women and seduces a human man, then gives birth to two kids; then she reveals herself to be the god, and tells the man about how he had created a titan who was now rampaging with Aus being unable to defeat him, so he came up with this scheme to give birth to Time and Space to help in the battle.I don't remember the details but anyway the current conclusion is that the plate items that Arceus can equip to change his typing are the remains of the titans of every type, except Regigigas, the Normal-type titan (and there is no Normal type plate), who Arceus was unable to kill but managed to seal away (with the help of big human cock, according to some legends). And since the titans attacked Arceus simply because he brought them into existence from the primordial chaos, you have the meme of Regignosis.
>>42670342Yes, that is the teraleak, and I didn't read through all of it because who cares, even if it is interesting. Most stuff was mistranslated at the start anyway, and a lot of it is in-universe folklore at best. That said >the plate items that Arceus can equip to change his typing are the remains of the titans of every typeLiterally something that was already explicitly stated in the games when DP came out.
>>42670356I didn't know it was called teraleak, I tried searching it and found a bunch of articles from literally today - with leaks about gen 10 - so I assumed it was brand new.

I'm not sure I'm completely on board with the consensus in the comments that the namesake phrase actually means anything in specific. I parsed it more as a couple of mean-spirited ponies looking for a laugh and saying some nonsense to rile her up, not thinking anything of it while she freaks out over it. Just kind of the cherry on top of how far she's fallen, and reminds me of how some of my peers used to try and rile up one of the autistic kids in class for fun.

>>42673622It may be mediocre but EVERY SINGLE TIME anyone tries to do Fo:E better, they inevitably do worse, like petulant ODD autists they are. Such as by thinking that reimagining Fallout things as pony things is bad, and not the meandering story, skipped scenes, plot holes (wrong kind) and excess of filler. Or that it's the worst thing ever that kkat and somber both understand the concept of "point of bifurcation" and don't include things that happened in canon past the point the events diverged "BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO OKAY>?!?!?!".>There's not really any single big point sticking outSkipped scenes. Reading Fo:E is like playing a pirated repack with all the cutscenes stripped out to fit it on disk - you get to the big confrontation, loading screen, you're at the next level. In every fucking chapter. No, "haha point it out" scene doesn't fix the issue, it just makes it more noticeable.>>42672178>This thread will discuss anything but fanfiction.hownew.ru
>>42673680>Skipped scenes.I remember noticing a lot of flaws when reading it, but this one never jumped out at me. I'm not saying you're wrong, but I do think you're both overexaggerating its importance and underestimating all the other issues if you think this is somehow THE big flaw with FoE.Just the shitty writing in the first three chapters alone probably overshadows a lot of smaller, subtler flaws the fic still had by the end of it, especially in light of those chapters being the first impression the fic will give to every reader.
>>42673690>the shitty writing in the first three chaptersThat's how far I got in it. It stank of Bethesda and failure. The introductory chapter is the POV char reading ad copy about smartphone features? Seriously?
>>42673690>but this one never jumped out at meThen you might be a brainlet. Pretty much every end of chapter is like that.
>>42673861>It stank of Bethesda and failure.Because that's exactly what it is. >>42677579What the fuck happened to that pic? It looks like you ran it through some kind of janky AI auto segmentation like they use for video call "blur my background" filters. >>42677757https://derpibooru.org/images/3693308I used my peerless GIMP talent to crop it and "add alpha channel" then brought the big guns by "select by color + feathering" the white background and hitting delete half a dozen times.
>>42677768You mean you actually looked at the corners near her crown, or the gaps in her tail, or the edges of her mane, and decided that this seems like an okay result? You don't even have the excuse of only ever looking at it against a light background.Anyway, you can do this in like 30 seconds: shift-O, click the white, grow 1, feather 1, delete. Nice sharp edges, no white blobs in all the corners, and it doesn't chew up the thin light purple stripe at the bottom right of her mane or the blue one sticking out on her tail.If you're willing to put in a few minutes of actual effort, I'd do as follows. First, get the selection as above, but don't hit delete. Instead, make a new layer, and fill the selection with white (shift-B, shift-click). Make a second layer under that and fill it completely with black. Now you can easily see the little spots in the interior that got wrongly selected and touch them up with brush/eraser tools (make sure you're editing the white layer and not the black layer). Some of these spots may be invisible in selection mode - if each pixel that makes up the spot is less than 50% selected, the spot won't have a visible selection border. Once you're done, right click the white layer and use "alpha to selection" to turn it back into a selection. You can then go back to the original layer and delete the selection.

>>42687047If any 4chan threads were to be archived for AI training, it'd probably be /v/ or /pol/.
>>42687047 They only know about relevant Fimfic writers, so no.
>>42687047It knows about the seekrit club, yes. You can ask any corporate model to simulate a 4chan thread and it'll give you something reasonably convincing, if you know how to get around the safeguarding and enable it to say the word 'faggot'. I doubt it knows about /fimfic/, specifically, but I might expect the big models to catch on to the most well-known FiM fic tropes, like Nyx.
>>42687119But does it know Dyx?
>>42687119Well, I expect that it was trained on the entirety of Fimfiction, so I'm wondering what it says when asked about any of us. Maybe I should ask it later and report back.
>>42687169Chag is over there, please use a real model and not filtered shit.
>>42687169Here's your vicarious non-(You) from Claude. You're an unknown quantity.
>>42687229Damn, what a useless answer. With another trillion dollars, maybe Skynet senpai will notice me.Now ask it about someone else here.
>>42687248I'm paying by the token, here. Paypal me the two cents it cost me to feed your ego and I'll ask it anything you like.
>>42687254Sorry, I thought you were on the free tier, kek.
>>42687229>I've been trained on all relevant data scraped from the internet. You weren't in it.Ouch. Sick burn.
>>42686323>a tranny who claimed to have fought on both sides of The TroublesYou would have to be a completely unprincipled traitor who only wanted to see people hurt and killed.In-character for a tranny. Is there evidence that he wasn't doing that?
>>42687280Well he was born about three years after it stopped so
>>42687334Ah, but he *identifies* as someone who fought in The Troubles!
>>42687348I'mma identify as someone who's gonna shove his foot up your ass.
>>42687358Dude, that's gay.
>>42687366Not all hatred results in hatefucking.
>>42687373In this case it does. If you want to stick yourself in guy's butts, you are gay.
>>42687379Is Thel 'Vadam gay?
>>42687516God, I hope so. I mean, what? Aren't we meant to be talking about horsewords, or something?
What fic idea have you always wanted to do?
>>42687754A romance story that's a series of vignettes inspired by the songs in Rubber Soul, each portraying the same couple at different points in time.
>>42687754Something metatextual where Twilight falls in love with a pony version of Fred from the SCP Foundation (because only Twilight could fall in love with a book)
>>42687248ChatGPT knows who you are, though.
>>42687936I found "Kass' Unreleased Fics". It's https://archiveofourown.org/collections/KassUnreleasedFics and looks unrelated.
>>42687936You mean chatgpt can google who he is. If you ask it with web search turned off, I bet the model itself doesn't know
>>42687964Yeah, you're right. When I turn off web search, the answer becomes useless and generic.
>>42688003And for comparison, I asked it about someone I was pretty sure it would know, and I was right.
>>42687754Something about Shining Armor getting old and tired while his alicorn wife and daughter are still young and lively. I get stumped on trying to depict the empire 90+ years in the future.
>>42688146It doesn't end with Flurry fucking him to be younger, like that one fic, right?
>>42688150I going for "emotional tearjerker that tackles the struggles of lost" and not "incest porn" actually.
>>42688178Damn, look at you mister all-grown-up.
>>42687754Bittersweet immortal Twilight fic that started with the idea "Pinkie wrote a thousand birthday cards for Twilight so she'll always be able to wish her happy birthday no matter how many years it's been"It's been nagging in the back of my head for a while but I force myself to finish my current (nonpony) fic first, and other aspects of the outline still need ironing out anyways.
>>42687754Twilight having a secret getting-impregnated fetish that accidentally gets out
>>42688292That sounds pretty neat.
>>42688292That's a good one.
>>42688292>prepare a thousand birthday cards>prepare a really heartfelt last one that leaves a lasting impression with a genuinely emotional farewell>prepare the actual last one that's just "lol ur old"
>>42688542>the actual last one just hits even harder because it's the last joke she'll ever hear from her
For some reason "character who is a commoner tries to date a Princess and the nobles get mad at this and tries to set her up with proper nobility" is a trope that's really speaking to me right now. Any good fics for this?
>>42688599I don't think I've ever read a story that had the latter. It's usually just Princess gets courted by character X and the nobility disapproves.
>>42688753I mean that in general is fine, just something where it's more centric in the story (instead of like No Nose Knows where it's a throwaway line). I'm a sucker for it, I suppose.
>>42688599https://www.fimfiction.net/story/128786/dreams-of-flyingThis one kinda counts? I still haven't finished it yet though.
>>42688599>The situation was grim. Celestia's relationship with a commoner was deeply disturbing to the nobility and all right-thinking ponies. Unless it was stopped, Equestria would be ruined. There was only one solution: Celestia needed to date Luna.
>>42689286Maybe the nobility is based after all
>>42689286Why must all roads lead to incest?
First for last.
