My Little Pony: The Movie is now eight years oldWhat are your thoughts on it?
>>42633489It's a good movie.
>>42633489Extremely forgettable beyond Tempest Shadow.
I don't like the artstyle.
>>42633489>twitter screencapKill yourself
>>42633489I hate it because it has all the elements of the later seasons. only good thing was fizzlepop
>>42633489It introduced hippogriffs, which are probably the best thing to come out of the late show.
>>426334898 years ago today, a 128 GB copy of 'MY LITTLE PONY: THE MOVIE' was downloaded to my hard drive FOR FREE.
>>42633489sex with tempest
>>42633561did you download 60 copies of the fucking movie where did those 128 gigs come from
>>42633489I'm still megabummed I couldn't catch it in theaters, that would have certainly been an experience
>>42633489Songbird Serenade makes my pp hardSome of the songs were pretty goodTempest ShadowThat's it really
>>42633570>he doesn't know about the 128 GB version
>>42633570how fucking new are you? did you actually unironically come here after 2017?
>was gonna watch it last year anni>internet started to crap out badly and still hasn't recovered then;_;
>>42633605You'll get your chance in a few days anon have hope
>>42633591yes spoonfeed oldfag puh lease
>>42633646a couple days before the theatrical release, someone uploaded the whole 128gb uncompressed theatre version to /mlp/
>>42633652thats pretty interesting
>>42633489On it's own merits, it's a mediocre movie at best, the story is painfully generic, the new characters are bad, the regular characters act OOC, the standout tracks of the movie soundtrack weren't even used, still I find it kind of charming, might be because I managed to watch it in the theater, essentially alone, but I think the movie has it's moments of brilliance. But when you learn about what this movie could have been, about all the delays, all the meddling, everything that went down, and then realize that the movie was pivotal to the beginning of all the S8/S9 creaturequestria bullshit, and you can't help but despise it's existence and everyone involved on it
>>42633570newfag spotted
>>42633489They should've hired Ralph Bakshi and John K for the animation. And Quentin Tarantino to direct along with Lauren Faust as creative producer and consultant.Oh, and John Carpenter for the soundtrack.Could've made for a good train wreck.
I've never bothered to find out who was responsible for making this movie the way it was and how much they got paid, but I'm sure it was too much and I could have done a better job. Then again, quality is never the first or even second consideration when hiring people to make cartoon movies.
>>42633489I liked it. I enjoyed it.
>>42633772And the combined budget would still have been more cost effective than the lame ass music stars they hired instead
>>42633772>john k in the 2010s animating ponyi'd like to see that just to see how it would look
>>42633652Ackshually, someone uploaded Hasbro's FTP login credentials and allowed us all access to their pony related files, including the movie and all associated animation assets.
Excluding the hippogryphs, the movie is a waste of secondary characters.
>>42633489Worst MLP movie that has been made.
>>42633489It was so bad it killed the entire generation
>>42633489Bland and Rushedthe plot is meh, the new characters are not that good (I remember one that didnt bothered acting and just sounds like a nigger) and background characters look amateur, the new animation looks good on background and object but bad on ponies. You have 6 main characters base plus the new ones and its too much, FS and AJ barely have lines of dialogue and pretty much dont do anything.>>42633678>But when you learn about what this movie could have been, about all the delays, all the meddling, everything that went down, and then realize that the movie was pivotal to the beginning of all the S8/S9 creaturequestria bullshit, and you can't help but despise it's existence and everyone involved on it>about all the delays, all the meddlingexplain anon, im curious since I was never interested in the movie for more than just one watch.
>>42633489I used to be quite positive on it when it came out, but as the years went on I started disliking it more and more for ignoring all the show lore. It's always annoying to me when movies just invent their own lore for the normie audiences and never use all the stuff established in the show. This is the reason why I'm not a big fan of the SpongeBob movie either. I know it's inevitable when big studious are involved, because it's the safest option so that casual bandwagoners who never saw the show don't get confused. But you're de-facto NOT making movies for the fans of the show, you're making movies for PEOPLE WHO DON'T WATCH THE SHOW. This will never not be absurd to me.I guess it's alright as a standalone movie though. I still think Tempest is one of the best MLP villains, and the songs are pretty good (except for the pop shit at the beginning and the end). Capper is alright too, it's a shame he never returned for anything outside of a S9 cameo.
>>42634891Oh, but I did watch it in theaters with my friends, with one of whom I'm still in touch. So I'll always have that experience.
>>42633489I was already getting tired of pone at the time, so I didn't watch it. My parents took my son to see it, though.I'm glad I didn't watch it. The only part I liked was Tempest and the first song with all the references and cameos. Everything else was just a generic fantasy kid flick with furries, which is the opposite of what I liked about the later seasons/Equestria Girls show.AJ and Fluttershy were done really dirty.
>>42633561I deleted it because too much space, poorfag problems >.<
>>42633489Bringing daybreaker back to life at the end of the movie is the worst mistake ever
>>42634931Sometimes I forget this board is browsed by real schizophrenics with their own imaginary realities
>>42634938don't forget real psychopaths and genocidal cultists.
Fine. Sort of forgettable.
>>42633489It was beautifully animated, but the story could've been better. Tempest Shadow is an interesting character.>Tempest Shadow works for evil because he promises to give her a new horn>Sentinel Prime steals cogs from unactivated, defenseless Cybertronians to create a weak, slave underclassHasbro movies just keep going with the circumcision metaphors, which is odd for such a Jewish corporation.
>>42633489KINO! ONE SMALL THING DOESN'T SEEM LIKE A LOT!
>>42633489>Twitter screencap gets repliesWhy are "4channers" AKA Redditors like this?I'm looking straight at you, Reddtor user. You REALLY fucking hate 4chan don't you?
>>42635064I just wish there was one small thing. An extra special kind of thing.THAT I'D SUCK ON FOR DAAAAAAAAAAYS!!ONE! SMALL! THING!
Bump, I guess. I'm actually having fun with this conversation.
>>42633489didn't watch it until after last year and after having seen all the memes about open up your eyes and how good it is. it was underwhelming, generic, and to this day it SUCKS
>>42633578iwtciss
>>42636078I think My Little Pony: The Movie SUCKS!
>>42633772>They should've hired Ralph Bakshi and John K for the animation. Now that you've said this, I unironically want to know what a Ralph Bakshi MLP movie would look like.>Rotoscoping of actual ponies>Story about earth ponies being discriminated againstWhat else would it have?
>>42634874>>42634909>FS and AJ barely have lines of dialogue and pretty much dont do anything.>AJ and Fluttershy were done really dirty. It's weird how in these movies and specials, AJ always seems to be disregarded by the writers and the fans as useless and not important, but in the show proper she's one of the most proactive and effective members of the group. In terms of the number of ponies directly saved under their own power, AJ has a pretty good track record, especially considering she has way less powers than the others do.It's a shame. She contributes as pretty disproportionately large amount to the group, but it always gets overlooked because her contributions aren't as flashy as the other characters. Being an Earth Pony is suffering.
>>42634874It was leaked in one of those Hasbro gigaleaks from years ago, the original plan for the movie, all the rewrites, even the fact that Sia somehow had a hand in the final script, if you can find it somewhere, read it, it's prime hasbro management
>>42633489It was worse than if they made it like the smurfs movie
>>42636671If you do find it, link it>>42636275This is the first movie where we see AJ taking the leader role when Twilight is unable/unfit for it, just like it happens in the show. Unlike Equestria Girls, where it's usually Rarity or Rainbow who lead when Princess Twilight/Sunset aren't around.
>>42636671>Sia somehow had a hand in the final scriptThat explains the scene where Songbird called Scootaloo a useless retard cripple.
>>42634931truth nuke
>>42636707All the more reason to bully Siapone
>>42636682Don't worry, we're getting that soon enough.
Why wasn't Fluttershy a pufferfish?
>>42633489I remember when /mlp/ leaked the movie like a month before being released on theaters
>>42634438Bruh.>>42634429I agree I liked Skystar and Captain Celaeno would sex both of them since their are birbos
>42638918>Bruhopinion rightfully discarded
>>42633561I have the same copy and I still have yet to watch the movie (G4 at least).
>>42633489fuckin sucked
>>42636671This is the company that introduces a new character to their show just because daddy CEO's little girl wants her own pony in the show. They have literal sub-zero quality standards.
>>42638936the 2017 movie was better than the G% movie that shit was boring
>>42638938source?
>>42638986Cadance. Her original name by Faust was Ultraviolet, by the way, because Faust was so annoyed by the move.
>>42638977True
>>42639053>>42638977Wrong
>>42638977both sucked, 2017 more
>>42634874>I remember one that didnt bothered acting and just sounds like a niggerThat was the seapony leader I think, and it doesn't help that one of her buddies was named fucking Jamal.
>>42639101Nah. the 2017 movie is still enjoyable
>>4263348910/10 it gave us based Grubber.
>>42639199Nope.
The G4 movie is literally worse than the G5 movie if only for the fact that in their desire to make it more "approachable" for casual fans, they flanderized all the main characters. I couldn't sit through the first 10 minutes of the intro and subsequent invasion by the Storm King without guffawing and rolling my eyes at the ponies' behavior. This didn't happen with the G5 movie for the simple reason that the characters were still blank slates - there was no character to ruin so it was all much more easily digestible: these versions of the characters WERE the characters, for all intents and purposes. So yes, in their braindead corporate suit desire to appeal to normies they utterly destroyed the appeal for non-casual fans.
>>42633489Midtier.
>>42633498Same. I wish it was the same as the show. Especially their eyes.
>>42633489It could been great.
>>42638977You couldn't be more wrong
