Equestria at War is the best pony mod for any game overall
>>
I should play it again. Or is base HOI4 finally "good"?
>>
>>42715920
HOI4 is one of the greatest games ever made unironically.

Is HoI and EaW mod a good pick for a Civilization V player like me? I'm a bit interested on it.
>>
>>42715998
yes
>>
>>42715948
It does have some good features in it sure. For example the production, civ factories and division designer. The aircraft and tank designers are fun too. But I will always miss the OOB levels you can have in HOI3 along with assigning hundreds of real life generals to divisions, corps, armies, army groups, theatres. I also miss province names for every single tile too. Made the map feel more "alive" fighting over a real place rather than just an empty tile.

I wish Victoria 3 was good, even with all of these updates filling in what should of been there at the start it just feels empty.
>>
>>42716015
Oh man, so do I. I love HoI III. I just wish it wasn't as, well, stiff and rigid with regards to modding. BlackICE and August Storm pushed the limits, especially the former, but it was always tough. Still love that game. DH too. That's part of why HoI IV is so good, because it is moddable, in my view, despite its problems.

I would not call hoi4 good, but it certainly is entertaining.

it is shit and lost all soul
>>
>>42716075
Mod-ability definitely helps HOI4. It made EAW possible.
>>42716084
That's the word I'd use too. It's entertaining.
>>

>hoi
>eaw
>good
lol. Play a real video game.
>>
>>42715998
no, if you like civ5, you like simplicity, grand strategy requires mental illness levels of autism and detracts from time spent loving MLP
>>
>>42715476
Have they updated Equestria's focus tree yet or are they still adding more pointless non-pony nations
>>
>>42716504
There's a submod for that.
>>
Most fun nation?
>>
>>42716921
Hippogriffia.
>>
>>42717095
Is it? Maybe I'll try them next.
>>
>>42716089
The left look better, autistic twifag.
>>
>>42717143
I suggest the siren path.
>>
>>42716483
you can like any ganre and get into HOI4
>>
>>42718529
lets not kid ourselves anon, autism is required
>>

You need to be over 18 to post here.

I'm 28.

Now get your ass back in whatever hole ya sat.
>>
Also, wish Starry Night had more cool story stuff.

This.
>>
>>42716089
I'm sorry fellow Twifag, I'm a contrarian motherfucker and even I think that the right look worse than the left. Especially Chrysalis's old portrait. From the first time I ever played the mod I thought it was very out of place.
>>
>>42716089
RIP fluffy ears and soft edges
>>
>>42716921
Lunar/Solar Empire is always fun.
Personal favorite is the Alesia path for Tobuck, or MARESOC route for New Mareland.
>>
>>42719575
I will miss the old ones though.
>>
>>42718982
Is Posada's path actually good?

>Over the green glades of Adelart, the jovial free griffs dream of an unimpeded tomorrow; that a society so conceived in defense of their liberty, against tyrants both foreign and domestic, shall endure! And to this end, Adelart's focus tree will be redone to the standard of its existing graphical work, so that the despots of Aquila and Griffenheim alike know that they can take from us our land, our safety, even our lives - but as long as the merrygriffs ride, they will never take our freedom!
>>
>>42720584
yes
>>
>>42720584
eh, it's irrational.
5/10, good graphics, insufficient cleansing of chiropterra from the face of the planet. Without resulting in the leader wasting even more resorces, at least
>>
>>42721796
I puppeted chirroptera because I couldn't be bothered to guard their coast
>>
>>42720584
I had fun with her path, plus she's just such a cutie.
>>
Honestly, the biggest problem I have with EAW is the severe lack of research slots, like, if I want to stay on top of my land and air game, there is literally no slack to give to the navy whatsoever, or, to a smaller extent, arming my shittier units with better equipment (no time to research better anti-air/anti-tank in SP, artillery in MP)
>>
>>42723299
This is what I like about HOI3. There are more research options and slots even as a minor. Granted you still have to make choices of what you want to focus on.
>>
>>42723322
yea, but HOI3 was annoying to play
