I recently started using Twitter.While it’s been great for finding people and (pony) art that aren't available anywhere else, I feel the format itself is too distracting. Everything moves too fast. It’s just an endless stream of images with barely any text or context. You don’t get a chance to think or appreciate what you're looking at before something else gets thrown at you.There should be other ways to discover art and people. Are there any sites or platforms like that nowadays?

And if it’s not on there then it’s buried in one of the many websites that online artists upload their art to nowdays. I have lost track of them all.

Bluesky is the only decent twitterlike (for consumption) because you can use a pony keyword feed instead of an algorithm. Unfortunately due to ponies like silver spoon and rarity, you still get off-topic stuff in the feed sometimes, but if you combine that with a keyword blacklist it's a pure pipeline of pony. Granted it's still a twitterlike, and it's unfiltered, so you get a lot of tumblresque garbage, but there are diamonds in the rough, and at worst it's kinda funny to laugh at the shit taste of underageb&s and millenial women. I regularly find beautiful stuff from artists I've never seen before.Pone.social is good but it's not used a lot, you don't find hidden gems there, but it's pretty much only used by horsefuckers so it's not offensive either.Twitter is okay for the first 30 or so posts any given day, if you have your algorithm set up right. But it is definitely the most psychologically dangerous platform since you can't escape the profit-maximizing algorithm. I have a minimalist extension that makes the UI less invasive but the inclusion of off topic bullshit and sponsored posts is still awful.These are the three websites I post my art on, but I don't really consoom from any of them. Boorus are too much of a hassle to tag up every image. At this point uploading my backlog of about a year would probably take half a day's work.
