But overall yeah G5 mane5/6 is worst than G4 mane 6 because FIM gave us clear archetypes (that are easy to fill with more personality/head canon about) and give clear flaws but G5 gave us background characters as mane protagonists in terms of design, talents and personality.
G5 mares were done wrong by the G5 artstyle. I dont hate it but it comes across as extremely cheap (I think its the plastic looking hair).From what I've seen in the anni the episodes are alright and the mares themselves are also alright. If they'd kept the G4 animation it would've been a decent watch.They clearly wanted G4-looking ponies instead of G3, why not just do G4 with better backgrounds and better animation?

Fluttershy is the typical entitled school shooter ready to flip out at any moment. She's a boring one-dimensional shy stereotype.Misty's shyness and self esteem issues come from her abusive upbringing, she was literally foalnapped and forced to live in terrible conditions. Watching her muster the courage to escape her captor and find friends that care for her and getting to experience the friendship she missed out as a child is one of the best arcs to ever come out of MLP.
