I totally see a bit of dwarf and human in them though somewhat, I don't think any of the pony races are gonna be 1/1 with fantasy races. Ultimately we're dealing with magic ponies in a fairy tale world and elves are gonna be a good match for multiple things, hence why we see pegasi and unicorns overlapping with elves sometimes.
