In a world of fantasy and magic, all over the land there are ponies skilled in the arts of combat, magic, and everything in between who seek the thrill of adventure. They usually do so by accepting the quests offered by the honest populace that isn't short of issues for aspiring heroes to solve.

You are one of such courageous ponies. You are a plucky earth pony, and a bard whose songs will magically improve the capabilities of your allies. You are a particular one, though, as you've decided to weave your strongest, most lecherous desires in your music. As a result, your powers can only affect mares, and you can reinforce them in more ways than a usual bard can. Unless noted otherwise, all the companions you'll join on your quests are mares as you specifically seek them out.

As for the most recent events of your journey:
With your friends Brass Compass and Chara, you came back to Meadowburg which is your first stop on your trip to the capital, Sky Diamond. You plan to stay a few days in Meadowburg before leaving to Port Sunrise.
Today, you went on a quest with Brighthoof, a mare that you already adventured with in the past. While the quest was a success, Brighthoof was injured during the job in spite of you growing her as much as you could with your magic. You gifted her a potion to heal her once you were back in town, and you now plan to spend the afternoon helping her clean her temple.

As a reminder:

Your mana, coins and experience are displayed at the top left of each posted picture. You recover 1 mana at the end of each quest, regardless of its outcome, and 1 mana whenever you travel. Traveling costs some coins. You also recover ALL your mana whenever you gain a level, in addition to gaining new abilities. How much bigger your abilities grow mare is also increased when you gain a level, and finally you gain 1 maximum mana too. You level up the next time you sleep to the next day after reaching the experience requirement.

You have the following abilities which use mana. You do not need to be prompted to use mana, but some courses of action during quests may require you to use those.
>Basic song. You can spend 1 mana to grow a mare 1' taller
>Ode to perfection for 2 mana. Grows a mare 1' taller. In addition, the mare’s body changes to become prettier and curvier, in a way that pleases the affected mare. Also cures minor injuries, poison, illnesses and magic aliments when used.
>Sforzando for 1 mana. Grows a mare 4' taller. This lasts until the end of the day or until you start a second quest along this mare while under this effect. (you cannot do more than 1 quest with this effect active.)

You have the following passive abilities. Those are triggered automatically.
>Toast to reunited friends: If you've travelled at least once AND completed at least 1 quest without a given companion mare since the last time you met her, the next time you grow her will cost no mana AND be doubled.

You have the following items in your inventory:
>Minor mage's armlet: Whenever you use mana, roll1d20 and add it to the armlet's charge. Whenever the charge reaches 50 or that the current charge ends with 1, the armlet generates 1 mana into its reserve and the charge is reset to 0. The armlet can hold up to 3 mana that you can use in place or in combination with your own. The charge and mana are displayed next to your mana.
>Return spell scroll: A consumable scroll which teleports the party to where they each woke up this day. Usually, this can allow you and your companions to abandon a quest without facing the direst consequences.
>Bead bracelet from Starpoint Keep
>Brass collar from Starpoint Keep
>Some pastries from Starpoint Keep

"Hey, wait!" You call after the huge mare and run after her. While you can't really keep up with the 18-feet-tall giantess, you have an idea to where she's heading since her head peeks over the roofs of most houses at this point.

This leads you to the temple. Like in most small to mid-sized towns, the common divinities share a single place of worship, and from what she told you and her position as a priestess, Brighthoof has been assigned to take care of this one.
"Wait, you're still there?" The mare gives you a quizzical look as she notices you. "I told you I'm alright. You can go on with your day."
"Yes, of course, but I still feel like I should stay around just a little longer." You say. "But I don't plan to bother you of course. Would you accept some extra hooves to clean the temple?"
"Oh, well, if that can help you feel better…" She shrugs before giving you a smile and a nod. "I'm not gonna refuse if you're offering. I can't even go through the door right now so I can use the aid."

The temple is a rather large, octagonal building. Aside from the two entries at opposing sides of it, the 6 others sides are each with a dedicated altar for a different divinity in their respective alcove. You’re not very familiar wish the gods, neither you nor your family being very pious, aside from the occasional prayer to the First Mother or the Winter Watcher at weddings or burials respectively. One of the altars you don't recognize features a small pyre on a pyramid, which reminds you of the big mare's cutie mark.
While Brighthoof cleans the outside like she said she would, you’re first tasked to take care of the inside of the temple. And so you mop the floors while the mare’s shadow occasionally passzs over you through the windows. Brighthoof uses a whole bedsheet as a cloth for that effect, and occasionally a broom to get into corners, like a regular-sized pony would a toothbrush.

Even though cleaning the roof would normally have been a way more daunting task than to take care of the floors inside, the cleric mare is done with her part long before you from the sheer size of her, and so the mare' who's too large to get in the church watches you from the outside while you finish.

"I couldn't help but to notice the altar." You nod toward the burning one. "I know next to nothing about it, but I have a hunch this one is for your deity, right?"
"Indeed. I worship the Guiding Flame." Brighthoof explains, hints of pride and excitement in her voice. "It is the light that fends off the darkness, protecting the world from evil. Its followers are proud warriors that fight for what is right, and many heroes of old hail from the cult of the Guiding Flame. Even today, the paladins of the Flame bring this eternal war to the edge of the known world to destroy evil wherever it may hide."

"These paladins sound like some fearless adventurers in a way." You comment. "Do you plan to embark on such a crusade in the near future?"
"Well… I can't right now." She replies, and you feel some frustration the cleric may be trying to hide. "I've been assigned to this place, so it's my duty to stay here. I'll spare you the details, but it would be bothersome for me to just leave. Somepony has to take care of the temple, and it's not like I'm some top-tier, indispensable holy warrior either."

Shortly after, you've made the temple sparkling clean. You can only hope the gods are pleased, because they do not manifest any reward for the daunting work your performed in their honor.
"All clear!" You state while putting away the mop. "Well, I believe we're done for the day. Would you like to join me at the inn tonight, Brighthoof?"
"Sounds good." And you hear the mare's tummy rumble in approval. "I'm feeling famished right now. That's a side effect from the potion if I recall correctly. Oh, and thanks for the help, Hearty."
"You're welcome. And I recall the potion has another side effect for mares." You point out. "I would love to help you drain that one out too."
"Nice try, smooth guy." The mare gives you a slight frown. "I'll take care of that one myself later, thank you."

Ask Brighthoof what is evil.

Party! If Brighthoof can't join because ponies make their inns too small, we can bring a table outside and dine together under the stars. If it's alright with the inn ponies, of course.

Welcome back Growfag hope you had a fun time visiting and being with your family. A much needed vacation is what everyone needs sometimes when they're overworked, having a creative writer block in their story, or just need to get away from it all by having a break.

For my vote. I say we go do this one on one thing with Brighthoof with the way she smiles at us through the door, as we helped her clean the temple. Brighthoof is happy with our assist and company, plus the rejuvenating potion of plains is about to reach the end of its effect so let's not miss out on the only chance of an opportunity of a lifetime to sucking her milky crotchboobs; it's going to be some time before Hearty will enjoy those puppies again with Brighthoof or another mare.

You and Brighthoof make it to the tavern. You decide to improvise a date with the huge mare, and do not gather the rest of your friends for this once. Hilda decides to go to Ratchel's on her own since she's been meaning to reunite with the witch and that she isn't particularly fond of the cleric mare.

You can bring a table outside since your friend wouldn't be able to fit inside comfortably. To take care of the hunger from the side effect of the potion, Brighthoof first munches through a couple hay bales which she washes down with a whole barrel of water. She then moves on to tastier food and drinks, which she can enjoy in more reasonable quantities.

As she said earlier, Meadowburg is a quiet town, which leaves Brighthoof with few interesting stories to tell. So instead, you recount your own adventures and what you dealt with in Starpoint Keep. The large mare is particularly interested in your tale about facing the giant mushroom mare.
"I wish I'd been here to help, and as large you made me now too." She says. "Now that would have been a proper fight against evil. These kinds of big bullies don't face enough foes of their own size!"
"You think that fae was evil?" You react.
"Well, sure sounds like she was, yeah." Brighthoof nods. "She was a danger to all the ponies around, and she was ready to do some really bad stuff to your companion from what you told me."
"To tell you the truth, we were a little conflicted about going straight to fighting that mare at the moment." You say. "So in a broader sense, what do you think evil is actually?"
"Come on now, you know evil when you see it, Hearty." The mare shrugs. "Well, when it's not fooling everypony under a mask of course. There are beings, pony or not, that just think they can get away with harming others, most of the time because they're stronger. And beyond the common thugs and savage creatures, there ARE powers out there that wish to destroy ponies and all civilization. Demons guided by malevolent deities, practitioners of necromancy and all that. These are thankfully far from places like Meadowburg as much as I'm aware, but they exist, and the Guiding Flame exists to protect ponykind from such threats."

Tempted to discuss how perspective can turn good acts evil and vice-versa, but neither the time nor place. Flirt more. Maybe philosophical discussion would become more well received when we're closer.

I wanna say convince Brighthoof to join our adventures travels, but considering what she told us earlier she not a indispensable strong holy warrior yet and if she leaves on such short notice then it would become a major problem for her and the last thing we want is to ruin her reputation as a priestess, so yeah better to settle for seduce the 18 feet tall fiery yellow mare tonight on our one on one date she will be ours.

Ahh I hated these stupid rolls sometimes getting a low result or landing on the same number but you need to be at least one number higher to succeed. Guess that why you gave us three chances to have a fair chance.

But there's one particular thing I want to point out. Why in the world would you give us a one shot rolling to flirt with Brighthoof? You never did something like this before usually when you give us the option to flirt with somepony there was no d2 dice rolling effect. It's already hard enough to do the once dice roll when we're set off to travel form one location to another. Why make another one that's even harder where we couldn't have three chances to succeed in flirting a mare but you only give us one? Growfag you made us a post that is totally unfair with a very low chance at being successful it almost seems like that you intentionally set this up to make us fail. If we end up not being able to have romantic love scene between Hearty and Brighthoof that night thanks to your actions. You basically ruin the special moment for us. Please next time don't make that challenge again for us to dice roll to flirt with a mare, but if you do give us more than one chance we need three it needs to be fair.
>>
>>42801660
>>42801665
In character we only JUST got a second chance and than we immediately roll for a booty call? Just doesn't make a lick of sense. I get that horny anons don't care, but it was a pipe dream at best
>>
>>42802753
Got to agree that it was a stretch to get anywhere with her so soon, especially after that autistic offer to drain her milk. Regardless of the roll talk, happy to have rolled poorly back there, since a poor outcome feels the most appropriate result for this whole interaction.
>>
>>42802823
No it was not that was terrible idea putting a roll on us like that and only one roll that's it what was he thinking?
>>
>>42802838
If I had to guess, it's most likely trying to balance how a flirtation should go with no valuable input from anons. Anons offered no ideas on how to flirt with the mare, and auto succeeding would be absolutely boring and easy, so this was the compromise. From how the conversation was going with a clearly disinterested mare, the fact we even had a chance to roll a success is more merciful than not.
>>
>>42802878
Except the flirt escalated to trying to get some action tonight without any input. Maybe the third one could be construed as asking for it, but that's still the minority opinion of the ones who responded
>>
>>42803922
Except we already flirted in a way to attempt to bed her tonight with that retarded milk flirt. All context points out that we intend to have sex with her with how anons pushed to spend time with her alone, and I seriously doubt anons wouldn't want to bed her on the first date if we had the option (especially with how hard a certain anon spams about making love).
Also, let's actually wait to see how our character fumbled the flirting, before acting shocked at how far it escalated. For all we know, we only lightly flirted, which just resulted in Brighthoof being disappointed/bored.
>>
>>42801106
"You're such an amazing mare, Brighthoof." You start. "Your will to protect ponies from evil is really inspiring. I would love to hear more about you."
"Nah, I'm nothing special." The mare flicks her hoof at you, apparently oblivious to your intent. "Now, if you wanna hear about inspiring heroes, I'd rather tell you about Hearthdawn the Bright, slayer of a thousand dragons!"

And before you realize it, Brighthoof start to narrates the feats of various heroes that hail from the Guiding Flame. Her eyes glimmer with excitement as she recites stories she visibly knows by heart, and you're surprised to notice her tales aren't too different from the heroic epics you know as a bard, the piousness of Brighthoof's protagonists coming second to their courage, strength and cunning. The saints of the Guiding Flames aren't very different from famous adventurers in fact, traveling to the end of the world to face some fell beast or a great evil after overcoming seemingly impossible challenges, often with the help of other companions, which by the end of the story recognize the Guiding Flame as their patron if they weren't worshiping it at the start.
You never find a good way to pivot into expressing your attraction to Brighthoof, but instead tell her about some heroic tales of your own repertory, which the cleric mare appreciates, even if of course the heroes of your stories aren't as good as those from the Guiding Flame.

All together this didn't go too bad, but after paying the tavern for your drinks and wishing Brighthoof a good night, you end up going to sleep on your own.

You wake up the next day, feeling ready for adventure. Unfortunately, at this point Brighthoof must have shrunk back to being only a little taller than the average pony.

Checking your bag, you find out that Hilda made her way back in there. She's happy to have met her caretaker again.
"It was good catching up with Ratchel and the other rats!" Hilda happily says. "We had lots of stories to tell each other since we've rarely been apart for so long. I told them about our travels, and how I became an actual adventurer! It's a shame you weren't there, bard. I told Ratchel you were too busy trying to get inside the rat-cist mare's pants to join."
"You… That's what you told Ratchel?" You cock an eyebrow.
"It is the truth." Hilda nods. "And I told Ratchel the truth."

Sounds like your rat-friend pulled a little sneaky on you, and from her smirk, the rodent seems very satisfied with herself. You didn't expect to be hit with such a petty shot early in the morning. Though, Ratchel knows Hilda tends to exaggerate things. The rat witch warned you about it herself, so she must have seen through the rat's little game. Probably.

Anyway, nothing forces you to take care of this right away. The town of Meadowburg still has its usual shops and quests to offer.

HERE BE META TALK

>>42802457
>Why in the world would you give us a one shot rolling to flirt with Brighthoof?

>Short answer:
I'm the GM and I decide how things play out.

>Long answer:
To clarify a few points: In this quest, it is possible for you to make it home with most mares rather quickly, even on the first date for some of them. The in-lore reason is that adventurers are, well, adventurous by nature after all. The meta reason is that since I'm showing up to two new mares with each quest, I believe it's more fun that you can reasonably expect to get intimate with them quickly enough without having to court them for days on end, again, for the most of them. For the same reasons, you don't have to worry too much about mares getting jealous over each other unless stated otherwise.
In this particular situation, now, players have decided to try and flirt with Brighthoof, and at least one of them with the clear intend to suck on Brighthoof's giant milky titties, even though the mare said in the previous posts she wasn't (yet) on board with it. Also, like >>42802878 pointed out, I didn't have much input to work on, so it's fully up to me to shape the scene into working out or not. I believe a straight success or failure would be no fun, so that's where the dice roll comes from. Rolls without rerolls like this one are made to represent pure luck like I decide this is the case here, in my quality of arbiter of this quest.
To expend a little on that, while during 'quests' and 'action scenes', I indeed do not leave you much room for personal input beyond the use of spells or items, in dialogues and time off, the options presented are merely suggestions that I would very much like players to expand on. I do these suggestions mostly to remind players of the most obvious courses of actions and to avoid each of the 2 to 5 on average posters to each want different paths which may not be compatible.
This whole 'expand on choices' is in parts my responsibility too, of course. This whole situation might just mean I didn't describe enough of the world for players to think up any informed suggestion beyond random or general stuff. Let me just say, please don't hesitate to be bold in how you try to seduce mares or talk with them in general. In the majority of situations, I'll try to interpret your actions in the most favorable way. I do not expect anybody on this thread/board/website/internet to be a master in girl-talking, so don’t be ashamed to try stuff. You are a fantasy bard after all. The worst that can happen is that your companions will tease you lightly if you're being too cheesy, or gently push you away if you get too gropey too soon.
Look at me just yapping there. Back to the quest.

Okay I appreciate you clearing that up for us and I forgive you for messing up our intimacy with Brighthoof and for not allowing us to enjoy sucking on her leaking milky tits; since you made sure we can still savage that opportunity but it have to be next time with her so until then we may or may not have to find somepony else to do that with. I also want to say I'm sorry if I lash out at you too harshly Growfag it just I was so mad at you for making that one challenge dice roll out of nowhere like that it made everything we did to be in love with Brighthoof seem pointless using almost all our mana, money, and time with her just to end up with nothing because at the end of the day you made her rejected us despite all our hard work to make amends and become close to her.

With all that sorted out this isn't good we're nearly broke , have only one mana, and are only halfway from leveling up again as much I want to go see someone else we know here our priority should be to do some level grinding and money gaining otherwise we're not going to be able to buy things or treat ourselves and our friends for much longer.

I have an idea First we should go to the innkeeper hear about the Runaway hunt and after she gives us the details about what this pony owes her we can let our rat partner Hilda take care of it for us to help us earn more extra coins, while she does that hearty do the Kelpie Sighting mission and replace both the mares with Brass Compass and Wind Chaser we'll going to need brains and aerial recon with aerial assault for this one.

You consider letting Hilda take care of the Runaway Hunt quest while you'll be on your own job, but don't follow through with the idea for now. This quest sound like it could be a little dangerous, even though your rat-friend is willing to try her claws at this task.

You have a bad feeling that Crystalyn might be the target of the quest about a Kelpie, so you decide to accept the task yourself. After asking Brass Compass to accompany you, you go meet Summer Nap who also signed up for this job.
"Well look who it is!" The pegasus mare hails you, giving you a smile. "So you came back around Meadowburg, huh?" And as she looks up at Brass Compass. "Looks like we'll have your powers our side this time, right?"
"Hey there, Summer Nap!" You wave at her in return. "Come on now, I just went on a quest with Brighthoof yesterday and she said the same thing. Are you still thinking about the job we did together a few weeks ago too?"
"Oh? You did a job with Brighthoof already?" The pegasus mare raises an eyebrow. "'Hope it went well. Anyway, don't worry about the witch, I'm fine with her now. She's been keeping to herself mostly, and I heard no complain about her from the townsfolks. But yeah, I don't think I'm spilling a secret if I tell you Brighthoof doesn't like the idea of letting a witch live around town."
"I figured that much." You nod. "But the quest went okay-ish in the end, and we… smoothed things over with Brighthoof."
"Good to hear." Summer Nap smirk. "Now let's make this job a success too, more than an okay-ish one if we can."

After meeting the client and from the directions the old fishermare gives you, it is almost certain the Kelpie she put a bounty on is in fact Crystalyn. It is definitely the same river, and the spot where she saw a kelpie is very close to where you met Crystalyn back then. At the time, you stole back a ring from her that had fallen into the river, along Board and Blueberry. In fact, Brass Compass connects the dots too, and she carefully asks you about it while Summer Nap is busy chatting with the client.

"Say, doesn't it sound like the Kelpie you met during a quest once?" The large unicorn whispers. "I recall that you told me you ended up just talking with her back then. Do you plan to fight her this time even if it's actually the same Kelpie? Or do you want to try to convince her to go away maybe?"
You aren't sure yourself. There is a quest at stake, here, and some coins too. And just not doing the job won't stop other adventurers from taking a crack at it, so it would be best you tried to sort out this situation. While Brass Compass seems ready to endorse your choices, you're not sure that Summer Nap would appreciate if you just said you wanted to leave the Kelpie alone since there's a townspony that put up a quest about her.

Summer nap is going to enjoy a taste of what our powers can do for her. Grow Summer with our passive powers. We want to make amends with her too and we need the advantage must complete two-three quests with lots of exp and money gain without using our last mana to recover our lost bits and mana, get our exp bar up to level up fully charge the next day, and then use up all the leftovers mana we accumulate today to grow a mare we intended to make it home being intimate in bed with.

A is bad idea, B well it's more of a neutral idea considering we do not know whether or not it Crystalyn, C we'll being honest with Summer nap but hard to say if we'll succeed in this roll, D going alone would allow us to find out for sure won't cost a rolling and since we came back maybe out toast to reunited with friends passive powers might work on her too after all we did promise to see her again so we can spend time with her the next time.

I'm picking D.

It cost's two mana. So we'd only be able to do it once by using the freebie.

Here's hoping Summer Nap is a teat kind of growth mare. Would be fun to witness her using her bow by standing on her hindlegs and inadvertently displaying and shaking her teats from drawing and shooting her weapon. That is, if Crystalyn isn't the Kelpie.

I agree there has to be a mare out there who wouldn't mind having milky crotchboobs for Hearty to enjoy smothering with affections, feeling it smoothness and sensitivity by groping them, and sucking on them thoroughly.

"Yeah, I'm almost certain we're talking about the same kelpie." You whisper back to Brass Compass. "I'm going to try talking to her to resolve this. Can you keep Summer Nap busy when I go scouting ahead, please?"
Brass Compass nods at you as a response. For now, you get back to the unsuspecting guardsmare.

"Well, I think we got all the information we need." Summer Nap says as you approach her. "The waters this kelpie inhabits are quite shallow. Those won't protect her from my arrows, ha!"
"Indeed." You force an approving smile on your face. "And even more so if I add a spell of my own to the equation. It sounded to like you weren't against a little more height, right?"
"Hm! Go for it, bard." She nods. "I'll be all the harder to pull underwater!"

You use your magic on the mare who shoots up two feet taller, but her body also changes in several other ways. Her mane gets longer and smoother, the lines of her face get more feminine and her lips grow more defined. Her body marginally gets more muscular, but her waist gets thinner while her hips and buttocks flare up in width. You also think that her teats plumped up by a decent amount under that gambeson.

"Woah, WOAH!" The mare starts frenetically inspecting herself. "Hearty, there isn't just my height that changed, I think! I-is this normal?!"
"Well, of course." You say, a little surprised by the extent of the changes yourself. "This spell makes your body closer to your ideal idea of it, in addition to the height."
"Oh, gee… ahem…" The pegasus mare starts blushing wildly. "Dude, give me a little heads-up next time you wanna expose my inner thoughts to the world. I mean… Oh goodness, I need a mirror…"

"Come on, it'll be alright." Brass Compass steps forward. "You sure changed a lot, but it'll be okay. I got used to it myself. Let's get somewhere private so we can refit these clothes a little, just between mares. Then we can go on that quest, once you're more comfortable with the changes."
As Summer Nap accepts to follow Brass Compass, you have the perfect opportunity to go on your own part of the plan.

You run through the plains around Meadowburg and along the river, towards the spot where you met the kelpie the first time.
"Crystalyn!" You call towards the water once you've reached the place, having little time to spare. "Are you there? I'd like to talk to you!"

Fortunately, quickly enough you start to notice ripples on the surface of the water, and from there the head of the familiar river mare emerges, sporting a smile.
"Well, hello there, Whispering Heart the bard." Crystalyn chimes. "Long time no see. Do come closer so we may… talk."
"Crystalyn, you're here!" You motion to the shore while she does so from her side. "I'm glad to have found you. We must-"
But as you've come to the edge, ropes of water suddenly emerge from the river and catch your front legs and neck.
>>
>>42809380
After glancing at yourself in shock, you look up to Crystalyn who's now showing you a wicked frown.

"You've got some nerve coming back after robbing me of that ring!" the kelpie hisses at you, while her tendrils start pulling you towards the water.
"What?" You blurt. "Wait, no, listen, I-"
"Don't take me for a fool, adventurer!" She cuts you. "Are you going to tell me it was a mere coincidence it disappeared while we were talking, that day? I don't know how you did it exactly, but surely your flattery was merely an act to divert my attention from whatever trick you pulled on me! You pony adventurers are all just greedy conponies after all!"

>A: It's true, the pony who lost the ring tasked you to take it back. But you still find Crystalyn as magnificent as last time, and you may even have brought some presents to make up for the ring.
>DC 90 minus 20 for EACH present you chose to give Crystalyn right now among the bead bracelets, the brass collar, the pastries that you possess, and an additional minus 20 if you grow Crystalyn with your magic.

>B: There's no time for this. Adventurers are on their way to hunt Crystalyn and you've come to warn her about it!

>C: In your position, you have a decent shot at a headbutt at the kelpie to free yourself. You'll have to return to your companions after this, though.

Surprised she actually remembered the ring when it was so tiny, we got to make it up to her quickly before she chokes the life out of us and drown us to death. Also yes thats what I'm talking about the DC roll lowering to 20 instead of 5 or 10 for each item we use including our magic this is what we need to have better chances to win the rollings thank you Growfag really appreciate it and grateful.

I'm voting for A we should give her some pastries, the brass collar, and our passive powers of Toast to Reunited Friends.
>>
>>42809383
A.Tell Crystalyn the truth and Grow her. Offer one of every present the bard has to the Kelpie as an apology and proof that he does like her. Gift the Brass collar and a Pastry. Enjoying a local cuisine from a capital city should perk her up, and since she always in underwater wearing the present around her neck; will keep it in place without risk of losing it in the water.
>>
>>42809383
A. Gift her the Brass Collar, and of course grow her with Toast + Ode. Any more gifts would feel like a huge waste, and we can save the beads for Board and the pastries for Ratchel.
>>
>>42809383
A with the collar, a pastry (doubt she gets to enjoy much backed goods), and ode. I'd also like to point out it was an engagement ring, a ring of promise to be wed. Much more valuable than a nice accessory, and in a non-monetary sense at that.

Would that mean Ratchel is disqualified from the passive working on her? She wasn't a companion, but she was convinced to help save us from wolves for a moment.

The Gm literally just said he'll allow the toast to reunited friends to work on mares we had previously grow in the past who weren't party members and so far it was only three mares we did it to Meadowburg tavern barmaid, Crystalyn, and Ratchel.

"W-wait! You're right, I'm sorry." You call, barely resisting the pull of the water leashes on you. "It was the engagement ring some pony lost and we were tasked to recover it, but I've come to make amends for it. Please listen!"

The traction on your body stops a little, but Crystalyn has yet to free you from her watery grasp, and she eyes you with a raised eyebrow.

"I-I've traveled around a little since last time." You force yourself to smile and reach for your bag. "And I went to another settlement called Starpoint Keep. Look! Their artisans make large neckpieces like these. I though this one would suit you."

"Mmh… It doesn't look so bad I guess." Crystalyn finally lets go of you to focus on the piece of brass jewelry which she takes from your hooves.

"And they also make these honey dipped pastries." You bring in the next present. "I don't think you've ever tasted something like that. Try them! Ooh, this looks really good on you!"

The water mare allows herself to show you a little smirk in response to your compliment after putting on the collar, and takes a pastry form the box you present her.

"Mmh! They're delightful indeed!" She reacts after her first bite, licking her lips to get the traces of honey on them. "Delicacies from the surface are always so nice."
"They are, and it's a pleasure to see you appreciate them, Crystalyn." You nod. "Again, I'd like to apologize about last time. You were on point. While I was talking to you, some accomplices of mine used a spell to lift the ring off your horn. We gave it back the colt that had lost it to the river, so he could propose to the mare that is now his wife. But please, I assure you that I didn't have to lie about your beauty back then, and you're as stunning as that day. In fact, if you don't mind, I'd love to have you as my muse today again. No tricks this time, promised."

"Phine. You mmay." The kelpie replies, the bitter tone she may have wanted to put up being dampened by the tasty confection she munches on.

You start playing and using your magic on Crystalyn, and the already large water mare gets even bigger. It's hard to tell how much with her piscine half, but her head isn't so far from being twice the size of yours, and her tail under the water now looks like it could send a big enough splash to wash you away. The shape of her body doesn't change much however. It appears Crystalyn is up to her own standards, physically speaking at least.
"Well, well, well…" The kelpie contemplate herself, visibly pleased with the changes. "I'm ready to believe you didn't try to fool me this time. Because then making this large would have been excessively careless of you!"

"Does that mean… may I consider this whole 'stolen ring situation' to be behind us?"

"Indeed, Whispering Heart, I forgive you." The large kelpie nods to herself. "Even if you could have just asked for that ring back then. I would have only requested a reasonable compensation, you know? But it's a thing of the past, now."

"I'm glad to hear it." You breathe out a sigh of relief. "Though, while I would have gladly dropped by just to catch up with you, I've got some bad news right now. There's a quest about you, Crystalyn. Some fishermare wants you to leave the river and she's ready to pay other ponies to help her drive you away by any means."
"Really, now?" The kelpie cocks an eyebrow. "You're not about to ask me to leave I hope. Because I've decided to build myself a vacation home for the summers in this river. I've started digging the main hall in the loam already, and the beavers I met upstream are scheduled to arrive next week for the woodworks. I've even planted some of my favorite flowers and algae in the shallows already."
"No, no, of course." You shake your head. "But we still need to settle this."

"Oh, but it's all settled already!" Crystalyn growls. "The land for this fishermare and all you ponies, the river for me. I don't get why it should be any other way. Why do you ponies even have a fishermare anyway?"

"It's… mostly a hobby for elderly ponies." You say. "Though, some fishes are used in alchemy, or for cat or dog food."
"All trifling matters, then! She should get another hobby, period!" Crystalyn harrumphs. "It's preposterous that ponies wish to claim the rivers in addition to the entire land they already have. I'm not even close to the pony town! Maybe I should wreck those stupid bridges if that's how it works…"

"Please don't." You try to calm the kelpie. "Sorry, I know it's not fair, you're right about that. But unfortunately, since a quest has been posted, we need to deal with it or adventurers might just keep coming after you. I'm trying to find a way to make this work without you or anypony else getting hurt."

"Hmf… And how do you plan to pull this off?"
>>
>>42812193
>A: Kelpies have a reputation of being dangerous tricksters, but Crystalyn could pass for a water spirit of a higher order at her size. Maybe she could make a little show to you and your companions, and assert that the fishermare upset the balance of the river and must stop fishing there.
>DC 67
>Crystalyn!

>DC 48 to convince the fishermare
>C: Maybe you could pretend the fishermare saw something else and thought it was a kelpie. Like a big catfish. Could Crystalyn bring such a fish around for that effect? If you can convince Summer Nap of that, as a guardsmare, she might even vouch against the fishermare should she complain about Crystalyn again in the future.

A
>>
>>42812197
Well, A strikes me as the best option, but it does bring the risk of drawing others to her for completely different reasons. It'd depends on how willing she'd be to maintain the ruse.
>>
>>42812197
A would give us a lot of affections with Crystalyn bring hearty closer to her, B Get every one involved and try to negotiate peacefully into sharing the river, and C that won't be much help and will probably be an issue again next time.

To be honest I'm having a hard time deciding to let Crystalyn have the river all to herself or share it with the fisher ponies Choice A and B has it own set of challenge risk with the dice roll B has like a normal balance difficulty but with double the play of 3 rolling for convincing Crystalyn and 3 rolling for convincing the fishermare, while A has almost hard difficulty with only regular play of 3 dice roll. Tempted to go for B although its hard to tell if we can convince both Crystalyn and Fishermare there's a chance we may only convince one of them and not the other cause we pass one, but fail the other which may lead into a stalemate impasse no telling what would happened next. As for A if we fail on this one there's a possibility Summer nap might see through the bluff and attack her leading to complications to whether or not Hearty help Summer or help Crystalyn or perhaps we'll have the option to try to convince Summer nap to stand down and end the quest a different way.

Ahh! You know what I'm placing my bet on Letter A. If we help her Crystalyn would make it a vacation home for both her and Hearty so they can have complete privacy doing naughty lewdness in secret I think we should use our last mana to better increase our chances to win the roll. Use Sforzando on Crystalyn and Growfag shouldn't Sforzando allow the DC roll to go down isn't it odd why you didn't do that for Brighthoof when you gave us the option to use Sforzando twice in order to save her the DC rolling for it was 60, but when we players picked it you didn't even lower the DC rolling at all you kept it the same 60 we're growing her aren't we, so shouldn't it have go down?!

The three adventurers arrive near the river where the width of the water allowed the kelpie to make her lair. Though, only one of them knew the details about that, while another was completely clueless about what they were about to encounter.

"We're close." You say out loud. "This is where the fishermare wanted us to check. I believe we're going to discover soon enough whether she saw a kelpie or something else."

"Mmh… Yeah, stay on your tips." Summer Nap cautiously looks around, her bow and an arrow already in her hooves.
Almost as a response to your dialogue, a small geyser of bubbles starts to appear from the middle of the water, followed by a towering and majestic mare-like creature emerging from it.

"Greetings, ponies." Crystalyn smiles to your group, talking in a calm tone. "I am the guardian of these waters."

The spell you used before leaving Crystalyn made her massive, bigger than even Brass Compass by any metric. With the water robes she conjured and the little crown of colored seaweeds, she definitely looks as regal as you intended. That way, she'll have no issue passing for a-
"Take that you monster!" Your train of thought is interrupted by Summer Nap's battle cry, and the sight of an arrow soaring next to your eyes. The projectile pierces the kelpie's midsection, making her recoil in pain.
"ARG! How DARE you!" Crystalyn roars, furious. While Summer Nap had immediately taken flight to prepare another arrow, the kelpie summons water tendrils which manage to catch your pegasus friend and violently slam her into the ground. Despite the shock, Summer Nap immediately takes out her dagger to attempt to sever the water binding her.
