They have newspaper, movies and music (records and whatever Vinyl Scratch always wear on the head)In the matter of communications only traditional and old school mail and phone but really rarely used or not popular at all.Taking account of what I told so far they should also have in a primitive way TV and radio, but was never shown on screen.

Most of the technological advancement we see were taken from a parallel dimension (mirror portal) that focused more on technological development rather then magic. Equestria just had advanced technology suddenly dumped on them, I assume the somewhat lacking Implementation is due to lack of true knowledge or cultural shock. It's not a perfect explanation but eh, close enough.
