This show is honestly kinda fucked up and touches on a lot of heavy shit. Even omitting the fact that the state is ruled by practically immortal magicians, it is immediately clear that Equestria has a caste system. Equestria is a classic example of the three-class feudal model of priests/warriors/workers:>UnicornsThey make up most of the scientific elite in addition to most of the bureaucracy, with alicorns being at the top of the hierarchy. The capital city, Canterlot, is even majority unicorn. They are also overrepresented in bourgeois frivolities like the fashion industry (see: Rarity).>PegasiThe armed forces are primarily made up of them, though in peacetime the military-industrial complex's ancillary industries (such as meteorology) are also primarily made up of Pegasi. Of course, just like Unicorns, some Pegasi are employed in other bourgeois positions.>EarthphoniesThey are the peasantry, urban working class, and rural landowners. Social mobility does exist, however Earthponies need to work for it, meanwhile there are no known Unicorn or Pegasus peasantry.Ponies' affiliations and career paths are significantly influenced by their caste, as well as their cutie marks. Even Starlight Glimmer, who started her own communist cult, did not envision overthrowing the alicorns but instead believed that they themselves would accept her ideas. The ponies are also crazy racist: there is an episode in season 1 where the gang racially profiles a zebra, and in a later season, Twilight tries to make a school that integrates non-pony races, but is told to make it a non-accredited school because the education ministry in Equestria doesn't want non-ponies learning their secrets. Pony racism is the premise of a huuuuuge percentage of episodes, seriously.

>The ponies are also crazy racist
>>42835989I think you are forgetting the best part: Equestria is a pony ethnostate without a single non-pony holding a government position. Non-ponies are allowed to reside in Equestria and do business, but they are kept away from any and all official affairs. And it has been that way for more than a millennium and outperformed every other country in their world. Creatures are allowed to live only because Equestria doesn't want to genocide them. And the cherry on top: G5 lore says that shortly after Twilight Sparkle introduced diversity everything fell apart and Equestria ceased to exist even without any external threats. So the pony ethnostate was far superior to Creaturequestria and diversity is cancer.
>>42836093>Non-ponies are allowed to reside in Equestria and do business, but they are kept away from any and all official affairs. There's a griffon representative of an Equestrian city in Princess Spike and it's not treated like a big deal in any way shape or form.
>>42835989Also just like on Earth, the Equestrian elite are all pedos
>>42836103What's your case for each of them? Reminder that the elite isn't just Celestia and Luna, you have to argue Cadence, Shining Armor, Twilight, Prince Blue Blood are all diddling fillies too.
>>42835989And people still act surprised that right wing people like this show, because its "about love and friendship". Those are narrowly qualified in Equestria.
>>42835989Don't forget the part where the School of Friendship is basically a colonial enterprise wherein the other races are taught about friendship (re: informed with pony culture) and sent back to their homelands to form a local ruling class friendly to Equestrian interests. Same as what the French were doing in the 19th and 20th centuries.
>>42835989>The ponies are also crazy racistSo are the griffons, dragons, and arguably the yaks. Ponies are probably the least racist out of all of them
>>42836140This show was inherently very perennialist when it started. It's kinda crazy how "feminist" like Faust could come up with something like that.
>>42835989MLP is a relic from an unwoke era where the idea of creatures that are inherently, innocently racist and classist was seen as funny and not bad, because the people who made it grew up with such people as their elders. Now the whole world must answer to the sensibilities of the bottom of the barrel of the human races, so such a thing isn't allowed.
>>42836534>unwoke erait got woke past s4
>>42836884Not S6?
>>42835989I think what a lot of people tend to forget is that all of these things were not put into the show to tell us how good they are but instead to parody and poke fun at the real world things they are based off of, for example Canterlots population being mainly comprised of unicorns who partake in "bourgeois", high-class activities was not done to make us think that that is cool, but instead, the show(at least under Faust) uses every opportunity it can to make fun of the Canterlot elite as a stand in for the high-class, self important elites of the real world, like in The Best Night Ever when Celestia says that the gala is always awful and was hoping twilight and her friends could shake the whole thing up or like in Sweet and Elite where the whole episode is constantly making fun of this whole unicorn hierarchy system and the vapidness/shallowness of the Canterlot elite, I can't say for sure where this recurring deconstruction of social hierarchies would of gone if the show had continued under Faust but it seems to me like the original intent was not to extol the greatness of caste systems, racism or colonialism but instead to make fun of those ideas and instead speak to the importance of not losing sight of simpler inner values like, being a good person, being kind, being loyal, being honest, being generous and making people smile, which when you say it out loud seems pretty obvious right, like i dont think this kids show was trying to secretly dogwhistle how cool racism is.its like when people unironically say the mane 6 are actually racist because of the way they initially react to Zecora, when the message of the episode is simply just about not judging books by their covers, but people look too literally at the situation and sort of miss the woods for the trees.
>>42837848You speak too much and too vaguely but I partly agree with you. You essentially could have just misquoted Aristotle: 'It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to consider an idea without accepting it.' Similarly, media may depict something without approving of it, though how it depicts it of course may be analyzed.
>>42837866yeah i mean i was basically just rambling but i hope my point came across.people like to point at things in media without really thinking about the intent with which they were put into said media, it also gets kind of messy with mlp because it seems like whatever plans/ideas were originally laid out by faust and team were kind of ruined by the later seasons.
>>42835989Sounds awesome.
>>42835989Wasn't it implied Manehattan is an Earth Pony city and Earth Ponies are the backbone of industry (i.e agriculture, manufacturing, etc...) or was that a fanfic I read?
>>42835989So what is the problem?
>>42835989Yea we know anon, why do you think we like it so much?
>>42835989>there are no known Unicorn or Pegasus peasantry
