I wish the board was even deader so that shit didn't get catapulted down the page instantly
>>42841173The board IS dead, it's just that certain people are speeding up the board in a attempt to kill thread(s) they don't like.
>>42841229I know complaining about autism here of all places is pointless but, man...
>>42841244I'd say this board is the most autistic out of the rest, especially with the schizos being the most noticeable like that one schizo attacking this general for whatever reason. I don't check this general much at all but it seems he's gone for good?
>>42841281The one circling this thread, maybe, but god knows what other sorts are circling the waters out there. Most of what kills us is the fact the game's going to be dead forever (even after they finish that Avatar one and come back to TFH) and keeping this going is mostly out of ritual than necessity.

>TNS finals were Texas v. StronghoofWe're in the dark timeline
>>42841947Were fat insomnia and tian 2.0 banned?
>>42841949Nidra was allowed but I have no clue if anyone even used her, Baihe was banned
>>42841947unless they explicitly ban them, those two are always going to be in the top slots.
>>42842317We could fix this by unbanning Baihe, like unleashing stoats to take care of the rabbit population
>pom with fangs
what if pom with butt fangs
>>42841947lmao i told you guys
>>42842354>unbanning the actually broken characterthat would be the last straw before the game landscape is left completely barren and every tourney would be a baihe mirror from top to bottom.
Bump
Hmm... Floof!
>>42841947of course the one time hundreds of people are watching is the one time over the last year or so that a grand finals hasn't had velvet in it
>>42843435>"Foenum, foenuuuuuuum!"
>>42843435the padeeru has breached containment
>>42840875Avatar Legends the Fighting game will SAVE TFH!
>>42841290I hope they just make TFH2 after Avatar.
>>42842792I truly, unironically don't see any reason to ban Baihe BESIDES the crash she has with Pom, if we're allowing the dads to be played in tournaments.
>>42844067I'm sure there's a couple people who could give you an itemized list of problems she has, all I know is she is fucking atrocious to play against as literally everyone.
>>42844067baihe isn't even remotely comparable to anything from prerelease or 1.0, let alone the current game, she's in a completely different league of non-functional
>>42844067trvke
>>42844067is the infinite and random iframe shit even patched on the current public version? I remember something about a bunch of fixes for her getting stuck in the beta branch
>>42844216Her infinites are fixed and at least MOST of her random i-frames are fixed, though I'm not sure if it's all of it
Tell me why I SHOULDN'T buy TFH right now? I feel like making a mistake.
>>42844225there's no one to play with
>>42844225Is a good game to practice fighting games. When you feel comfy, you can move to Blazblue, Guilty Gear, Marvel vs Capcom, or whatever sweaty try-hards are trying to I-frame every moment of their lives.
>>42844225it will make you too aware how inferior every other game feels by comparison (somehow, despite this one not even being finished)
>>42844225I'd buy it for like 5-10$ in its current state and feel satisfied, there's probably like 20 hours of solid entertainment even if you just fuck around in training mode, run through the arcade mode with a few characters a couple times and do the one chapter of story mode, even if you don't find people online, and there are people available to play if you wait around or ask for matches. It's a very easy game to pick up and play if you've got any fighting game experience and probably the easiest anime fighter to learn if you don't. And it really does have the best 1/7th of a story mode in the entire genre.Just know you're getting an unfinished game, there's some vague positive noises being made about the new owners resuming development but I wouldn't base any decisions on that until they start delivering, and even then I really doubt they're going to be going all out and finishing story mode and shit even in the best case scenario, realistically.
would it really cause that many problems if Texas just had a taller crouching hurtbox?
>>42844583yes, it would interfere with the grappler power fantasy
>>42844583That pic is so fucking hilarious.
>>42844583Zoners are already his worst matchups, making him unable to duck fireballs would just make those even worse while not really helping any of the other characters fight him in a meaningful way.I think he'd be in a pretty good spot if they just made it easier to jump over / crouch under the cowbell deadzones and got rid of the invuln frame on Texas Smash that effectively gives him 3-frame abare. And maybe some kind of additional cost for restands. The rest of his kit has decent counterplay that people just don't bother to learn.
>>42844610fucker can reach across the screen and fireballs disappear if the caster gets hit, what's he need to duck for
>>428446106A should whiff on crouchif they want to let him call out jumps he should actually have to call out a jump, not just randomly throw this fucking hitbox into his pressure somewhere and collect random unblockables
>>42844614It's slow as balls and not armored, and has blindspots near the screen edge. It's not actually as free of an anti-zoning tool as you think if the zoner player isn't just braindead autopiloting their patterns, it's basically a free icicle for Velvet or free read magic for Oleander if they block a cowbell.Seriously, try playing him against an actually good Velvet. I'm not saying he's bad by any stretch of the imagination, but the "just press cowbell 2 win lol" idea of Texas people have doesn't actually work.
>>42844314cowe butt
>>42844997Wish we could make it bigger
>>42844610>his worst matchups are in his favorhow is this an argument against a nerf?
>>42845080It's well sized already
>>42845086you're talking to a Texas apologist, they don't make sense.Same as how any other high-tier player will turn a blind eye to the obvious advantages their pet character has and claim that because they can still be beaten with a degree of effort they're not overtuned.
>>42845679With effort, you can beat Texas.Without effort, Texas can beat you.
>>42844714>6A should whiff on crouchIt should both whiff on crouch AND be uncancellable on block. Texas 6A is pulled straight from the bear (except it's much larger), it should have the weaknesses of the bear's 6A. Hitting standing opponents is actually still better than the bear's 6A which whiffs on all grounded opponents full stop
>>42844610>The rest of his kit has decent counterplay that people just don't bother to learnNo it fucking doesn'tThe risk/reward to trying to counterplay most of Texas's kit is horribly skewed in Texas's favor. He has extreme disjoints, everything he does is safe, and he has access to multiple hits of armor on command that the majority of characters in this game cannot break outside SPD range. Texas is a labyrinth of bad design
>>42845086You're either too stupid to read or so ass you have to deliberately misinterpret what I said to make a point, so congrats I guess.>>42845679>any other high-tier player will turn a blind eye to the obvious advantages their pet character hasPeople only care when Texas players do it. Nevermind the early Arizona players who immediately took their ball and went home crying when their character was nerfed from top 1 to just middle of the pack, or the Pom players who insist to this day she's not a fucking absurd premise of a character that's still a menace even after nerfs. It's literally just "old good, new bad" down the board.I don't even think he's NOT really good, but the person acting like he's some kind of Brawl Meta Knight tier monstrosity needs to be clowned on.>>42846177>extreme disjointsThis is every character in the game except like, Paprika. >everything he does is safeAlso like half the characters in the game, if it was even true. Literally all of his kit is unsafe on block except 4 of his normals and Run C. >multiple hits of armor on command that the majority of characters in this game cannot break outside SPD rangeArizona Lasso (works nearly anywhere on screen)Velvet DP or Shatter B (especially easy to do on reaction to any projectile hitting his armor)Oleander has the reach to mashPaprika Cart A / j.CPom j.B or DiggerStronghoof (insert any of the ways he shits on armor)Nidra has like 5 random armor breakers It's basically just Shanty that's mega ass against this character. If you play Shanty you have my apologies for not letting you complain about him in peace.
So does this game have a single-player story mode yet?
>>42841947Man I haven't played this game in so long or come here only to see this. I hate those big fucking faggots so much
>>42846386It has 1 chapter featuring the cow
>>42846455That's it? Shame, really. The game is uninteresting to me to play with other people because the fandom is comprised solely of competitive players, and I'm just a filthy casual. Oh well.So much for the "with enough money we can add a story mode that even has animation", huh?
>>42846468the "now that chapter 1 is done, using the assets to make later chapters will go faster" statement was also a lie.
>>42846542I believed that statement so hard too at the time
>>42846548so did I.
>>42846344>Velvet DP>Oleander has the reach to mash>Paprika Cart A / j.C>Pom j.B or Digger>Stronghoof (insert any of the ways he shits on armor)None of these work at roundstart distance or beyond which is where Rodeo Run goes from strong to uncontestable. Texas outranges most of the cast with his 5C and 2C let alone his bells and stomps, he can't be counterpoked at that range because of the disjoints, and he can't be punished for those pokes, so when you try to poke at him first with your longest-range button and he goes into his resourceless two-hit armored move, you die. If you wait, expecting the armor, and he does it? You still don't get to break the armor at that range because he can either immediately runstop and not move ANYWHERE (and he keeps the armor for the entire recovery!) or he presses his safe-on-block, plus-on-block-if-spaced C followup that also has two hits of armor for its startup. You have to be damn sure he's going to hold his run and not immediately go into a followup if you want to break his armor with any of those options. Some of the options you listed are too slow to react punish Texas run stop even if he does it point blank (which is a very stupid way to use the move in the first place) because he can start and stop it in a total of 40 frames. At any range past point blank you're gambling on a ~30f move hitting him when he could just press 5B or 2C and cancel those into whatever he wants, or not cancel them at all because you're sure as fuck not punishing him for it
>>42846636Why do you need to contest Rodeo Run with an option that can beat it outright when he's at roundstart range or further? He's a complete non-threat at that range unless you can't react to 2D, in which case you probably can't react to any other overhead in the game either.Sure he can reach you with hitboxes from really far away, but it's not a big deal to just block them. The only time it's really an RPS is when he gets close enough for Texas Smash / runstop 2B/6A / runstop nothng / etc. to be actual mixups. Empty runstop beats unsafe armor breakers, but gives up his turn, as does instant Run C if the opponent blocks instead of doing anything else. Beating Texas is mostly a matter of being extremely patient and only acting when he's within range to actually warrant action. His armor exists as a way for him to actually have a chance of getting in that range, since he literally can't move forward without it other than his slow as balls walk speed. You shouldn't be trying to contest it at range unless you're a zoner or special case like Arizona.
>>42846716>Why do you need to contest Rodeo Run with an option that can beat it outright when he's at roundstart range or further?Because he can box you out forever while slowly chipping you with 5D or j.D and using stomp when you try to jump or approach. Texas might not win rounds by chipping you, but the chip damage can make the difference between a won or lost round. Not being able to check Rodeo Run also gives Texas the opportunity to use it to properly get in if he wants to, though I argue he doesn't need to for the above reason. Blocking Texas forever just lets him move you to the corner, and trying to achieve a hypothetical preferred spacing (that doesn't actually exist in most MUs) will just get you clipped by stomp into a fullscreen conversion into 2B/SPD mix that he can even do at fucking max JD because 2DD is the single most broken move in the gameI think we should flip the question on its head: why would it be bad for Texas to zone you out? He locks you down, he can chip you, and all the while you're doing nothing to him. If you work your way in he can use his massive normals OR his armor to stop you in your tracks. If he gets lucky and clips you ONCE while locking you down then he no longer needs to work for anything.Patience works against Velvet (or at least it did pre-5.1, jury's out on whether it works for current Velvet), who doesn't have much to threaten players who do get close enough for her to start poking. Patience works against Stronghoof, whose arsenal moves are all -20 or worse and even when you don't get a punish lets the player gain a ton of ground and/or advance their gameplan. Texas's bell and stomp are both minus eight on block, and the latter has a built-in frametrap that, I must repeatedly emphasize, gives him a full combo into SPD mix from fullscreen with zero starting resources. It's such minor frame advantage that most things a character would want to do in that situation can be PUNISHED if Texas immediately does 5D after, and that 5D can't be punished or taken advantage of on block because it is ALSO MINUS 8 AT ANY RANGE TEXAS WOULD USE IT
