Changelings should've never been given any indication they posess good in them. Maybe neutrality for the sake of the hive but friendship, empathy, understanding. They're glorified termites who have just enough sapience to mimic the superficial elements of other species and enjoy tormenting their prey. Even Chrysalis for all her talk of survival is a sadistic monster who derives pleasure from the mental or physical torture she inflicts on others.
