You need to be experiencing as many new things as possible in order to feed your art. Real-life adventures and experiences are the best thing for it, but failing that, diversifying your media intake will also suffice. Everything new that you take in will intermix with your existing ideas (those being ponies, in this case) and then, just like that, you've got a cool new pony idea to write about. Think of ponies as a foundation, or a catalyst, and of everything else you take in as ingredients and spices.

>>42876771The best way to experience eqg is during the anni, it's idiots in good company. No eqgfag believes the movies are the pinnacle of writing or anything, but they are fun and entertaining. The animators definitely had fun doing it and the music is great to boot. The hardest part of eqg are the designs, they are kind of terrible. I would argue they are a more enjoyable watch than later fim seasons in terms of scenarios and writing, not that that is a high bar.

There's a coworker I'm slowly befriending who used to watch FiM and therefore commented on my Discord button a while back. Turns out that if I were to design an acrylic keychain, she might be able to print one for me for free at her other workplace.
