>>42880506This captcha is very strange. It feels like one of those joke ones you see posted on /g/. I think we really need a guide of what sort of patterns we're looking for here. I have no idea on the final sphere pattern one.
>>42880684>he's getting more than one
>>42880684You're not autistic enough.
>>42880684Honesty it seems like sometimes there is a pattern, but other times it just seems like pure guesswork. Took me 5 attempts for the last post. What is the pattern for the spheres? It is the most difficult one. My best guess for the pattern is that the matching ones are supposed to have at least one sphere overlapping in the pattern from the other ones, but I'm not sure that's right.>>42880691I get 3. The text one is easy enough, but the others are mostly guess work.

>>42880691I'm getting 2, and after finishing them I get "the for some reason banned phrase" a lot of times. Why the hell do you just get 1? USA, I bet, even though most shitposters come from that hellhole.
>>42880696What spheres do you get? Post a screenshot. Whenever I get symbols it's just very easily discernible differences like two circles and one half-circle, and other times it's numbers/letters on a different background than the other. Should all be easy-peasy stuff for anyone.
Why the hell are there SO MANY deleted posts in this thread? Don't tell me it's for off-topic, because this kind of discussion was always allowed especially in a thread like this, faggot mods.

I don't know where else to ask, but I'm looking for a video I saw during the anni where its Tobey McGuire looking at his phone and seeing all this nostalgic pony stuff while Safe and Sound plays and it ends with him crying. I have the NSFW version, I want the SFW one. Does anyone have it?

>ponut.spaceWow, never expected my site would be naturally picked up here, I never chose to advertise it here for fear it may get smutty'd. The funny thing is it did get smutty'd and has been down for about a month because of that, and I'm unsure if I have the will to bring it back online. Cloudflare nuked me without saying anything and when I went snooping the files out of curiosity and found the shit I immediately contacted authorities (as required by law) and hired a lawyer. I had enabled detection for this shit on CF but at some point they disabled it, I believe because they changed how it worked and I needed to check a new box to agree to something.I'm still in the process of handling it, but because of the amount of risk I realized I was putting myself in I may not bring it back online. I've kept quiet about it for quite a while even to friends because I figured there may be an investigation but after speaking with authorities recently it seems there may not be.

>>42880137>Filly (formerly Floorb)now that's what I call based, OP.
>>42884053Shouldn't you be protected by section 230? Or are you based outside of the US?
>>42884143I am in the US and so yes I should be protected, but I got spooked since CF's TOS says they usually contact web hosts over abuse so the content can be taken down, but they didn't. This led me to believe that there was a possibility of there being an ongoing investigation already (because I'm schizo) and because the content has actually been there a while (I do not monitor uploads). If everything blows over and it's not a big deal I may put it back up, but not before making sure the detection on CF side is actually turned on, and possibly adding some of my own protections (range ban India and other retarded nations)
>>42884218If you could, post what happens with your resolution or if you hear anything relevant from your lawyer. Just for reference for other site operators here.

>>42884487Nope: >>42614784
>>42884508I don't see much of a problem with banning Tor exit nodes when publishing content, or at the very least pending any such uploads for approval. What I have a problem with is sites banning Tor from just so much as accessing a site (there's zero need to).
>>42884518>pending any such uploads for approvalThe thing about premoderation is that it just doesn't work. Ponybooru is the recent example, the uploads will hang for too long making the service useless. An ancient problem all kinds of forums had and still have.>sites banning Tor from just so much as accessing a site (there's zero need to)True.
>>42884347I'm not too upset by it, flattered more than anything desu, but it makes sense now why it potentially happened. I heard there was a raid on a lot of sites associated with 4chan around the same time the majority of the content was uploaded to my site. >>42884469>>42884508I only get CF IPs since I proxy through them. When I said range ban india I will have to figure out doing that through CF since I use them as a barrier between me and the open internet. This is how they are able to scan for this kind of content, but it also protects my IP and protects me from DDOS attacks.>>42884487I left that up to deter people who thought it may be useful for long term storage to potentially save space, all my friends knew it was perma storage.>>42884518The point of no moderation is to limit my liability, but also because I have 0 time to do such a thing, and never made any money nor asked for any money for running it, so no money to hire someone to do it (I suppose jannies could be a thing but I doubt anyone really wants to do that)
>>42884713>I only get CF IPs since I proxy through them. When I said range ban india I will have to figure out doing that through CFCan't help you there but I think it's possible.
>>42884713>I only get CF IPs since I proxy through them.Anon, this is a solved problem. CF provides querier's IP just fine, just look up in which header or whatever it is. Usually it's not done manually, tho, services on your side should seamlessly substitute them.
>>42884713>I left that up to deter people who thought it may be useful for long term storage to potentially save space, all my friends knew it was perma storage. Was there any reason behind that other than giving a permastorage service to your friends? It feels to me like having a service that (public) users believe isn't permanent, but then actually storing everything permanently anyway, is a pure liability, since with your disclaimer nobody was going to use it for permanent storage anyway (without being in the know) yet you're exposing yourself to exactly this situation appearing.Having a content policy that says "All files will be deleted in 72 hours. Submit abuse reports to admin@website; all abuse reports will be acted upon within 72 hours." is normally the main reason to have a disappearing site by avoiding all the responsibility and issues that come with hosting a permanent one so it just sounds like your strategy was the worst of both worlds.I suppose hindsight is always wiser of course
>>42884713Assuming you are using nginx for your reverse proxy to CF, you could use:set_real_ip_from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/xx;(repeat the above for all of CF's IP ranges)real_ip_header CF-Connecting-IP;In your nginx config.

>>42885040Yeah but I don't think alt-boorus import tag changes.
>>42885082I think ponerpics does kinda, I've seen a couple images there which had porter account apply new tags to them.
>>42885099It's a bit of a problem because sometimes Furpi does tag changes that don't really, let's say, "align with the values" of the alt-boorus.
>>42885305How hard could it be to blacklist certain tags from being imported? Can you provide an example of such a problem that can't be solved with tag aliasing/blacklisting?
>>42885348Sorry, I'm not experienced enough with moderation of the alt-boorus to know the intricate details, I just know that it happens. Like the outrage at the time way before the alt-boorus were created to add "grimdark" to every image that was tagged "rape". It seems so quaint now. I think a bigger current problem was that Furpi has a different definition of what constitutes a barbie or something like that. Maybe some mod of an alt-booru can give a better example.
>>42885366Hmm, now creating a system that'd allow an easy way to revert certain tag imports that have already been imported that sounds like a decent amount of work.

>>42885678Solid advice, but never open a file sharing website without meticulously datamining every user who uploads content to your zone and never tolerate CSAM content. >>42885788Section 230 was actually passed to protect web hosts from defamation suits, since traditional tort law permits you to sue those who disseminate defamatory comments, not just the guys who made the defamatory comments.Child porn, somewhat famously, does not fall under 1st Amendment protections, so it wouldn't surprise me if there is also no Section 230 immunity for it.

Though you do have a point about self hosting, I've considered if I put this back up putting it on a VPS somewhere so it is at least not infecting my personal hardware.>>42886034Was unaware of the full story on this, didn't know he didn't monitor the abuse email. I have the abuse email on my site forwarding to my main email through CF, I never received any abuse reports from anyone or CF, DNS just stopped resolving entirely one day (not even resolving to CF itself)ponut.space ran for a little over 2 years iirc, it was super useful and good amongst my particular circle in this community. I realize now how wide open I left myself, though I still put some blame on CF for disabling the CSAM detection when I had explicitly enabled it (which at the time required me to get an ID with NCEMC so CF could file a report on my behalf, the change was they no longer filed that report for you, which is why you had to go back and check the box saying you would do so yourself, as required by law). All in all I have no idea what will become of the site, or if CF will even give me my domain back, if there are any updates on this I'll report back in this thread, but I wouldn't expect anything soon.
>>42886357>in the CF dashboard I saw that they could provide it to you in a header but you have to have a paid tier of CF,yeah that's an incredibly misleading thing, the one listed there is for compatibility with some other provider's network (akamai or something i think,)you get the cf-connecting-ip header for free

>>42886362well fuck me then lmao. If it goes back up I'll be reading that header and any other information I can get my hands on. My experience so far has been fairly chill with the whole situation. The FBI has only asked for more information on my own report, and told me they mostly focus on production rather than distribution, so I may or may not even get a call from the department that actually works these cases. I'm still waiting to hear back on if I can just hand them all the content and wipe my drive so I can be done with it.>>42886378Hi Corp, didn't expect to see you responding here, when I made ponut.space it was a smutty replacement and I wasn't aware you were the one who originally hosted smutty at the time. I still think refundable deposits to maintain an account would be a good way to eliminate malicious spam. Imagine a site where>public posting is limited to ~2 day uploads>you can create an account token by sending like $10 worth of crypto, uploading with the token allows permanent uploads>if you don't upload anything for ~30 days you can close your account and get your deposit back>if you're caught uploading pizza your account is kaput and the deposit is confiscated insteadProbably not, like, 100% foolproof, but should at least deter low-effort raids and large-scale spam attacks.
>>42886940Any guarantees that you wouldn't abuse your system by banning users for bullshit reasons and stealing their deposits?
>>42886965Trust would need to be built up over time of course. For a new site I expect a few people would just throw in $10 because it's not that much, and then word of mouth would spread.Or if someone already known in the community did something like this they'd benefit from their existing reputation and trust. If Corp or Filly or Lotus started a site like this for example, I don't think anybody would expect them to run with the money.Otherwise there's no way to "guarantee" it objectively, not unless you had some kind of trusted third-party oracle on whether something is CSAM or not that could be used in an ethereum smart contract or some shit. Which there isn't. But there's plenty of anons who have integrity and are also not dirt poor themselves and so would have no reason to rugpull while having lots of motivation to keep up a useful site for all anons
>>42886940Show nose
>>42886970Your idea is just a scam then. Indistinguishable from one.>expect a few people would just throw in $10 /) c oYou're an idiot. It may only work if somebody with established reputation tried doing so, like you said. Even then you'll get less users than nhnb has. Why would anyone bother paying for your site when there're many free alternatives there? At this point why not go invite only? 1000% foolproof. If every user is your friend who you know personally nobody is going to abuse it. I gurantee that every single "Anon" who you think is going to use your site knows each other second hand max.
>>42886992>many free alternativesThere is literally only one, pone.rs, and for months there were none after smutty shut down. Otherwise we're all running back to catbox because he's actually got a direct line to the feds so his weeb site is allowed to stay up.Yeah, as long as one site stays up, it's nice, but ponut.space was a private site that only advertised temporary storage and still got taken down, and it's just some months older than pone.rs. Forgive me if I'm not super hopeful about the longevity for the future.>why not go invite onlyAlso possible but if you allow users to invite each other, it will be practically useless for keeping out malicious actors because fags will share invites with each other in discords and then friends of friends of friends will gain access to the site, and pedos are not some separate internet force that doesn't interact with anybody outside of darknet sites or whatever. All invites will do is punish those anons who don't sit in "4chan discords" and therefore don't have a way to get it outside of threads sharing invite codes, but those again are easily either scraped by bots or you get unlucky and a fed grabs the invite before an actual anon.I'd love it if we could actually have a site stay up without needing any of this fucking garbage and without getting taken down by glowies but so far the track record is not great.

Invite only has been appealing to me, but if I wanted something that could replace smutty this would get complicated fast. I considered a system where users could invite other users, but if there was abuse it would nuke part of the "tree" of users. I.E. the guy who invited the retard and any guys who the retard invited. It's kind of a complicated mess with no solution that satisfies everyone's autism but I can say that permastorage will not go back up without some level of KYC, the base site may possibly go up with anonymous uploads lasting only 12 hours, but still have changes to collect more logs on every upload, (also range banning regions that are typically involved in these kinds of things)Maybe at some point one of us who runs this kind of shit can get a direct line with the feds like catbox supposedly has. It will probably trigger the schizos to know of fed involvement but the risk these days is too great to leave your ass wide open, I know this first hand now.
>>42887463Meh, he's gay, he's bound to be a little extravagant.>>42886331Corona I guess? You're not fat I hope? Get well soon, faglord.
>>42887575get a new, anonymous domain, new, anonymous hosting account, only access those accounts through Tor, tie nothing back to your real identityrun the site, have a reporting form, have any automatic scanning you can, deal with abuse reports as they come as best as you canif it dies, it dies - keep backups, do the same thing but harder next time - but at least nothing comes back to you as a person.also, disallow encrypted zip archives and such, pedos love those
>>42887575>(also range banning regions that are typically involved in these kinds of things)Which ones are those?
>>42887590i don't feel like this is actually an issue, because anyone uploading illegal content is either using tor exit nodes or public open proxies, which can be from any regionjust my opinion though
>>42887575I honestly don't know if more logs is the solution. The less you collect, the more liable you are. The only issue with having fewer logs might be that it makes you more "attractive" to those who want to uploads CSAM, but I don't think this legal responsibility is particularly clearly defined, is it?Being active about deleting it is what I always hear they require. If your moderation allows you to keep up CP forever, I don't think CF and hosting providers will be particularly placated if you can provide detailed access logs. Unless you mean actual full-on legal KYC where they can just go arrest the guy, but my man that would make your site dead on arrival, when catbox exists and still works - I wanna use a pony website if I can but I'm not going through an actual KYC process for file uploads.>invitesThe issue with an invite tree is that it's too difficult to make it retard-proof. When you give an invite to a friend, you can't guarantee for sure that a friend of a friend of your friend won't be a pedo as the invite spreads. But if you limit the "tree nuking" to just one level, then it's way too easy for a pedo to invite themselves twice and thus break the link.Cock.li had a thing where new accounts would take like 6 months to be allocated a couple of invite codes but they already had a lot of existing accounts whereas if you launch a new site this way it will absolutely strangle anyone's ability to create new accounts. Maybe it could work if combined with judicious manual invites to people who you know are alright. But yeah it gets thorny fast, you still have the tree-nuking problem, and cockli ended up getting rid of their invite scheme eventually and I'm not sure why - could be because they decided it wasn't worthwhile after all.
>>42887575What if you gave people the option to use a key to upload (to track identify). New and Anonymous users can only have short duration uploads, but users who have used the same key for a long time and behaved can have longer lasting uploads.
>>42887599>The less you collect, the more liable you are.I meant the precise opposite obviously.
>>42887590third world countries known for spamming and raiding, I considered having an application system to have access if you reside in one of these countries but I'm still in the early stages of thinking through what to do here>>42887597I would probably ban proxies and VPNs as well, I know it sucks but have to protect shit somehow >>42887589I'm not trying to hide shit or disconnect this responsibility, as an operator you're supposed to follow the REPORT act and similar, I think cooperating with law enforcement is a much better look then trying to hide shit, especially if they figure out who you are anyway.>>42887599you are right that you are more liable the more involvement you have. When I first was setting this up I found that your minimum liability is if you do not monitor anything at all and simply respond to abuse reports, because if you actively moderate you are then possibly liable if your moderation fucks up, misses something, or doesn't report properly. They do not want you to delete things, they want you to make them inaccessible to the public internet and hold them in cold storage for the feds to be able to properly investigate. I was not talking full on bank level KYC, just possibly accounts with emails and/or some other way to identify people. Hadn't considered the double invite you mentioned, though I'm betting there's some way to protect against that, but yes, unlimited invites are also hairy.>>42887600considered this, actually considered trying to use hardware TPMs for some level of hardware attestation but this would mean people with older machines couldn't access it, and if you allow randomly generated keys then people can just regenerate. If you provide keys tied to an IP then they can rotate their IP, and it doesn't really give you any additional information anyway, if abuse happens you want to permaban the IP anyway.
>>42887618unfortunately, i believe that cooperating with law enforcement in 2025 is always going to lead to you losingbest of luck for you, though, i hope you can find a way to bring your site back in a way that satisfies you
>>42887625so far there's been nothing adversarial about my cooperation with them. I get the feeling that they have a lot of this shit come through and they don't particularly care about this side that much, they're more interested in finding the people actually abusing children, taking out the source of all of this. But shit's not over yet because I haven't turned over files and gotten rid of them from cold storage so I guess we'll see.
>>42887599>The less you collect, the more liable you are.Makes no sense (I know you meant to say 'more'). Please provide relevant laws that state that the better you keep on top of shit the more likely the system will rape you for it. None of this "trust me bro" shit.
>>42887647Don't just ban based on extension, actually have the system sniff out the MIME type.
>>42887660entropy analysisbut note, i talk specifically about standard-format encrypted zip/7z/rar/etc files. when i ran a file host those were the most common sorts of files reported as illegal content.
>>42887663You have to go that far to do the minimum required ?
>>42887656It should be obvious>there are no laws requiring you to maintain any particular information>there are laws requiring you to hand over information you have in various situations>there are also laws requiring you yourself to act on information you haveImagine a website with accounts, where someone is caught uploading CP. If you don't suspend their account, and they're caught uploading CP again, then you can be on the hook for allowing a known distributor to continue having access to your site and uploading material. So you have a responsibility to ban them and delete their account.Meanwhile if you don't have accounts and all uploads are anonymous, you simply do not have this responsibility.Or for instance if you don't proactively moderate but rather act on abuse reports, you are responsible for acting fast when reported but that's it. Yeah sometimes they'll fuck with you because you're adding extra work, but it's not impossible to operate properly this way (see: catbox). But on the other hand if you moderate every file manually before uploading, and CP makes it on, then you're on the hook because it means a human looked at the CP and said "yeah, this is allowed on our site"; you can plead a mistake or negligence but the baseline responsibility is a lot higher.I don't have specific legal citations for this because I'm not a lawyer but it's both common sense and also the experience of other hosters, like the ponut.space fag agreeing with me literally right above, and I think corp too IIRC. If you disagree you're welcome to bring your own citations to the contrary.
>>42887819>I don't have specific legal citations for thisSo you have nothing but assumptions that anyone else could make.>common senseYour arguments go directly against common sense. A host being pro-active about dealing with uploads made to his site is always going to be a better host than one that could be considered negligent at best, at least when we're using "common sense". Bring the relevant legal citations, because police proceedings mean nothing, it's well-known they bend the law to their will so long as they can get their "case closed" stamp on their file. You may be stupid enough to talk to them without having a lawyer by your side, not everyone else is that naive.
>>42887878>So you have nothingIn contrast to you, I assume?
>>42887884I don't do any grandstanding here thinking I know exactly how these things work legally, unlike you.
>>42887890But you do, you're outright claiming that proactively trying to be a good goy in advance is betterActual website hosts agree with me so I'm waiting for any supporting evidence of your points other than just "I think I know how the world works"
>>42887895I am "claiming" that common sense would dictate that being proactive in removing shit from your site is better than going "Nah I don't monitor that shit, I just let people do whatever". And you can't convince me it is not with your flimsy arguments.
Late night bump.
I've just released a new pony site called PonyAggregate> what does it do?It's a centralized archive for all MLP fanworks. Supports artwork, videos, audio, fanfics, games, and basically anything uploadable that follows content guidelines.> why was it made? The focus is to provide a reliable, general-purpose archive for fragmented fanworks. Not meant to replace other platforms, but focused on organized archiving.> what's the tech stack?I've built it using Next.js with serverless architecture (Vercel) for reliability and cost-effectiveness. Cloudflare R2 is also being used to avoid the egress fees of AWS.> what **can** it do?Submissions and uploads work, commenting works, profiles work, semantic/filtered browsing works, developer docs exist, and account API keys workEmail user registration is temporarily disabled, but you can just use Discord OAuth.Anonymous uploads are currently not supported, but this may change in the future depending on demand and the logistics.> where can i use it?It’s live now at: https://ponyaggregate.comFeedback is welcome

I manage a few archives like sim, spanking, momlestia etc. And Ive put the greens as "unlisted", the thinking was that i'd flood the sites search function with hundreds of stories if i didn't. But, if I understand it correctly, unlisted stories does not get saved in any backup? I don't have any backups myself anymore. So if the site dies there are no saves of the archives? And if this is the case, i'd greatly appreciate it if the PP admin could make saves of the archives, regardless of them being unlisted. If this is possible.
>>42912018>flood the search function with stories>on the site for posting storiesIsn't that the entire purpose of the search function
>>42911255I'd volunteer.
>>42912274Its alot of same-same fetish stuff that would take up alot of results and drown out whatever the anon might be looking for. And they aren't tagged well. That was the initial reason for having them unlisted.
>>42912554Fair, but tagging them with the general name for example should help with that.Actually I don't know if ponepaste supports negative filtering. If it doesn't then we should pester fillirb. >>42912018I don't understand your logic.See >>42912274Just make everything public. The unlisted and private pastes feature is a mistake, should not have exist in the first place.

>>42912864If there isn't, the only reason would be that nobody has needed it yet or asked for it. Adding it cannot possibly be very difficult. But by making all your uploads unlisted they will never be findable again. The purpose of unlisted pastes is just to quickly share something between the small group of people that will have the link to it. Personally I agree with keeping unlisted pastes out of backups. If you want it available in a publicly downloadable and searchable backup, that means it's a public story and should be available in the public live archive, too. They are just greens, right? It's literally the entire point of the website.
>>42912871>But by making all your uploads unlisted they will never be findable again. They all have an index of sorts in the archive itself. And i didn't know unlisted stories did not get saved in any backups. Kinda why i asked about it. Wish there was a button that made all stories public.

I no longer concern myself with Derpibooru, but with the anatomy of its malignancy. I wish to study the response of its staff to calibrated, escalating pressures, to map the precise topography of their fear, and to document the exact moment their conviction finally fractures.
>>42916217>the exact moment their conviction finally fracturesI wish. But I don't think this will happen at all. They're fanatics. And fanatics ride down the cliff before they question their ideology.
>>42912647The name pone"paste" itself is a mistake. It's named a "paste", implying arbitrary text, but arbitrary text is not allowed. Only mlp greens and stuff. So code snippets, userscripts for 4chan, and other stuff typically posted on "paste" sites are out. Should be named "fimgreen.net" or something.
>>42917153Userscripts for /mpl/, and by extension probably 4chan-generic ones that are useful for /mlp/, are actually allowed.
>>42917186Only allowed if you prove it. Proving it for every single text fragment is bothersome to the extreme.
>>42917323Only disallowed if you're reported. I'm pretty sure if it's been posted on /mlp/ and/or discussed by anons here floorb wouldn't chimp out.

How come that twibooru's image ID almost 60000 behind derpi's?If it imports everything from derpi and poner and people also upload, shouldn't it be ahead instead of behind?Does this mean it's missing more than 60k images?
>>42925256Both Derpibooru and Twibooru upload IDs are sequential, meaning that any spam deleted before it can be imported does not factor into Twi's count. If you'd like to dig into the stats, there are pages for that:https://derpibooru.org/pages/statshttps://twibooru.org/stats
>>42925283Yes, but 60k is a lot. Especially when twibooru imports from multiple sources AND there are almost 60k images which was uploaded to twibooru directly. And about 60k images which were imported from other sources than derpi. So in total this would mean that 180k images (60k behind + 60k direct upload + 60k other imports) were deleted as spam from derpi? That would mean every 20th upload is deleted.
>>42925352The actual number of deleted Derpi images is closer to 400k, with Twibooru's [deleted from derpibooru] tag covering over a fifth of that. I'm confused by your math.
>>42925372>400k deletedHoly shit. That's every 10th image...I never realized that twibooru (and others) are missing this much deleted images. Factoring these in the IDs do add up.3740k currently on derpi plus 120k direct or other source on twi. Somehow we must arrive at 3860k. Accounting for the 290k missing deleted means twiboorus ID should be around 3570k. Currently it's at 3682k. So now somewhere there are an additional 110k images coming from.
>>42924096kek fixed
>>42925403it's not that they are "missing", it's that they weren't imported in the first place due to being originally deleted for being spam. i would say the actual number of images that are deleted but we actually want on the site are less than 10,000 - but it's been awhile since i calculated that, it might be less than 1,000.
You’re including duplicates in the count of deleted images. They aren’t missing, they’re merged.
Twibooru importer seems to miss images. Eg https://derpibooru.org/images/3740832 (and 3740815 which it replaced) was posted more than hour ago and strangely images just before and just after are imported but not this one.
>>42927139Twiboorus derpi importer is definitely missing some images randomly.
>>42928567Striking.

>>42934590We need total LLMbot death, those are a scourge for the whole Internet.
>>42935862Perhaps instead we need education for site operators on how to implement rate limiting rules and other mitigations on the services that they voluntarily make accessible to anyone.
>>42935920>victim blaming
>>42935924Not blaming anyone, I mean it sincerely - we genuinely need to educate site operators on how to protect their sites. I should write an article on it, maybe. This has been necessary since the first HTTP (D)DoS script was written, it's not any more or less necessary today - there's just a lot more unintentional DDoS by people who don't care.
