What was essential for this show to catch your attention? What do you think made the show successful, not only on the internet but among its target demographic?>Art style and pony design>Did a good art style help you stomach any bad writing the show had to offer?>Characters and personalities>Was Mane 6 able to keep you watching even when they were acting stupid/OOC or plot was boring?>Stories and narratives>Were you simply captivated by the stories and would watch FIM even in G1/G3 art style if you'd had to?>World building and lore>Did the world of Equestria make you watch the show no matter if you were interested in the characters or story of the episodes?>Adventures or SoL>If SoL, were they silly stories that escalated in funny way but were kept in one episode or mature overarching interponysonal stories?>If adventures, what kind of adventures: high stakes two parters or isolated stories?>Fandom>Was it community, be it fan art, fimfics, animations or just anons you liked to spend time with that made you join and stay?Did you only watch till season 2/3 or enjoy all 9 seasons of the FIM?Was FIM one of the kind of lighting in a bottle and it will be impossible to reproduce it or do you think it is very possible with the right talent and vision but Hasbro is just retarded? Is a cute art style and likable characters all G6 needs to be successful, or at the very least watchable? Was FIM just a good cartoon with a great art style and lovable characters that came at the perfect time in the history of the internet and was found by "the right people" or something much more? Was FIM's success inevitable, and it would have gotten famous no matter what, or pure luck that was outside of the show's control?
I repeatedly saw cute mares on the 4chan index page, occasionally lurking the threads and it eventually made me watch the show

I was 11 when I began watching it with my older brother in the summer of 2011. It was really comfy, we'd watch random clips on Youtube and other animated shows and animes, then a friend of his introduced us to the pony show. Both of us called it gay and lame, but then we ironically watched 3 or 4 episodes and it stopped being ironic. I can't say exactly why I loved it so much, I think it was mainly because I enjoyed spending time with my brother. We quit following it at the end of season 5 because it started becoming bad, I also think that due to me becoming an edgy teen I didn't feel okay watching a girls show. Him and I don't really talk anymore, he got a crazy girlfriend and because I don't like her and she demands all of his time, it is kinda hard to meet these days. I used to enjoy reminiscing about the good old days with his, but I've gotten the feeling he isn't as nostalgic about it as me. I think him being a wizard until the age of 33 fucked him up.
