Something about those ears, maybe their shape. Contrast your picture with pic rel, here the ears are xboxhueg even (just barely looking okay), but overall they feel a bit more pony, wouldn't you agree? At least on yours the snout looks fine, that was problematic for that artist/style in some pictures IIRC.I'd say the ears are second window to the pony soul, right after eyes. Sure a smile or frown is more expressive at a glance, but I feel ear position is more "sincere", for lack of a proper word. Imagine how she'd fold her ears after you said something sweet that made her fluster.
