Velvet has one of the most stupid looking kits of any fighting game character I've ever seen. BlazBlue tier chip damage, projectile traps that can fire even when she's blocking, unreactably fast projectiles with fullscreen combo conversions?What does the tierlist for this game look like?

Her chip used to be much more reasonable and she had a bunch of inherent weaknesses like 5C whiffing on crouch outside point blank that limited her strings and conversions even further, but she had an amazing plus and then nerfed to just safe on block reversal that most characters had hard call out to punish and with resources was pretty uncontestable in neutral so she was a tricky and somewhat unstable zoner that could dip into kinda janky setplay or cash out the right hits for big damage if you had the execution which made her a rare sight in tournaments but not without top level representation. But she got most of those things toned up over time as her zoning was pretty low reward for medium risk and she got easily the most practical and strongest level 3 in the game which actually does get used a decent amount since she doesn't have a reversal super and only needs it for combos off certain hits if she wants the magic refund, and then in the final kusoge update they cranked the shit out of her chip damage so now she has better conversions, better neutral, and you lose 30% of your health to chip nearly unavoidably over the course of the round. The competitive scene is pretty dead so there's not a lot of data to base tier lists on but very roughly it's like>TopDads, then Oleander and Velvet>MidEveryone else>LowShanty, maybe Pap I don't know what state she's in right nowBaihe is tournament banned because she's an unfinished janky mess in the current public version rather than for power level reasons, I think if you ignore the broken shit she'd work out to somewhere mid tier, and I don't know enough about Nidra to say but I suspect she'd be pretty strong if anyone actually learned her well

They both have a superjump and airdash, they both have a low profile forward dash, their 6As are almost identical except Baihe's is turbobuffed compared to Tianhuo's, their frame data on the whole is pretty remarkably copypasted despite the hitboxes and hit properties sometimes changing (I found that the blockstun of their ground AND air normals is 100% identical besides 6A; frame advantage can be different but that's because of recovery frames changing), and at least some of Baihe's specials are directly pulled from Tianhuo's unreleased boss fight, including her Backdraft which is LITERALLY in Tianhuo's data, has been since version 1.0, and can be accessed by hacking the game. Several other moves like "Ground Fireball" exist in leftover data for Tianhuo's boss scripts so there's a good chance those were reused for Baihe as well.

There's a year-old beta patch fixing that crash that the new IP owners plan to release as soon as they can (there's some complicated legal work in transferring ownership across all the different SKUs, apparently) and when that happens there's no real reason to keep her unbanned while the dads are rampaging; might as well fight broken with brokenOleander is imo the best legal character in the game, with the best buttons in the game, a 29f teleport that she picks the side she lands on, a risk-free double jump and a unique meter leech mechanic. If it was only this she'd probably be #3 behind the dads, but she also has a puppet, Fred, that she can spend two bars of meter to summon and guarantee she wins the round unless she makes a HUGE mistake. Fred is spammable, cannot be interrupted in any way unlike the other puppets of the game, turns Oleander's teleport into a plus-on-block unreactable 50/50 from anywhere on the screen, and although his timer is set to last 17 seconds Oleander can extend it by hitting moves with Fred or by reading. Oleander has the largest meter size in the game but the combination of meter leech and the ability to read to gain meter in neutral means she'll get to use Fred during round 3 almost every match, sometimes during round 2.Dads are the game's pay-to-win characters and a nightmare of game design, sitting slightly below Oleander. Given the choice between nerfing Oleander and nerfing the dads I would nerf the dads. Their options are massive, disjointed and uninteractive, covering most-to-all angles a character can take, they're never punishable, they have tons of weird jank that can make hitting them or comboing them inconsistent, and they have massive damage. Stronghoof can even ToD some characters when most of the roster can only barely two-touch in ideal cirumstances, and this is AFTER they nerfed Shoof's damage. They're awful to play against, some characters like Shanty have nigh-unwinnable matchups against them, and I think more people would compete in TFH if there were tournament series that banned them. Just ban the whole season pass, Baihe is banned already and nobody plays Nidra (who has fast safe overheads and who also has ToDs like Stronghoof). The vanilla cast is generally pretty balanced against each other with the weaker characters being able to compete against the stronger ones reasonably enough, the dads fuck all that up

I kinda hate the way Tianhuo was designed...Dealing with her mix kind of requires abusing faultless defense, but it just makes her hella plus and too far away to interact with. It makes playing optimally against her so boring, but way too in her favor if you try to interact with it.

If this game ever gets an update, do you think they'll drop console support? I doubt even 1 person has launched this game on switch in the past year and I doubt more than like 50 people have launched it on xbox ever. PS4 maybe has a handful of people who want to play because PS4s are basically just fighting game machines and they're easy to drag to events.

>>43003432If mane6 did the prep work well then just releasing a finished update on console(except switch since it has performance issues that would require specific fixes) shouldn't be a massive amount of extra hours, their problem during last time was trying to keep all the versions at parity for crossplay which meant you had to keep multiple versions in development at once and deal with coordinating updates and shit. If the new owners are smart they'll at the very least drop crossplay, it's unfortunately just not really worth it when 95% of the playerbase is going to be on pc anyway as impressive as it was for a team that small to pull it off in the first place, but it might still be worth it to do console ports that only get updates at major versions. Switch2 might be able to run the game this time too.
