Why are there so many lesbian/mare-on-mare ships in the fanbase? Are horsefuckers just allergic to the idea of a straight (normal) pone couple? Where does this obsession with lesbimares come from?

There were some popular early ships like FlutterMac and SoarinDash but the majority of characters we spend our time with are mares, so naturally people are going to want to focus on those characters. Also, 4chan was a big fan of moe anime where the focus on yuri ships already existed so that same tendency naturally came over to FiM.
Lots of mares, not many stallions in the earlier seasons. Also before the lgbtiddqd cancer took over the world, guys used to just think girls kissing is hot.

I’m assuming it’s because it’s so heavily implied in the series canonically, especially with the Mane 6, but dismissing any straight ships whatsoever including those that are deadass confirmed I find pretty stupid. That and it’s a preference for a shit ton of fans, I guess. A lot of the time it’s less people apart of LGBTQIA+ and more others who are oddly interested in it or think it’s a cute trope.
