So what's the deal with G6 anyway? Was pic related real, was it cancelled or what? Has there been anything new at all?
That was almost certainly cancelled before it was leaked, that was clearly some sort of G5.5 project to hold people over until G6 could come out. Since G5 flopped this hard they skipped that and decided to just go all in on G6.
>>42942530G& will probably be them going back to the origins of the franchise, but trying to appeal to people who are practically in their 50's. The only G1 brony I know has already seen this franchise rise and burn twice, and everything Hasbro has announced only makes him feel worse about the current state of the franchise.
>>42942530They should just reboot G4 but do non Mane 6 stories. Or adapt the comics The real obstacle is that toy sales are declining so they need to leverage their cult popularity to sell to Generation Alpha. Ponies need to become cool again on Tiktok, which they tried and failed to do with Pony Life. It's a valuable IP they just don't know how to use it
>>42942530
>>42942775The mistake that Hasbro made with late G4, PL, G5 and almost certainly will make again with G6 is that they think they need to make the series memey. Let the fans make jokes about it, but the series itself should just try and be the best series it can be.
>>42942530They're retooling it into the Desiree show.
>>42942796Yeah, the reason why people liked pony is because it was surprisingly good, not because it was an unserious or particularly funny show. In fact the pilot took itself pretty seriously. Towards the end with the meme-faces... they weren't necessary at all. I think they were encouraged by higher ups after Derpy and other animation errors got popular but it just came across as forced
>>42942812>I think they were encouraged by higher upsKind of.Vogel forcing himself as a show's writer thanks to his high position at Hasbro had to have something to do with it, but I don't think uninterested producers had much to do. Millennials are simply lame and stupid.
>>42942893We know that Netflix and even traditional media companies like CBS and NBC push for their shows to have clippable moments, so it's very likely that Hasbro's doing the same. Though it may not have in the mid-2010s, that's a more recent move.
In a way, I would've liked to see what they'd have made of some of the G4 and G5 characters being in the same show. So long as they keep out Zipp, because they'd just ruin her by making her trans or some shit like that.
>>42942900Yeah the show ended before that became a standard thing, I think that mostly became a thing during Covid because more people were on their phones and making TikTok really blew up
>>42942900>Though it may not have in the mid-2010s, that's a more recent move. That's more of a reason I don't believe the "memey" aspect of later seasons was caused by Hasbro, but rather the new writers being idiots with no talent who lacked the experience to make up for it in other ways. While I'm not sure how old Haber was during S6-9, the way he managed G4 was much closer to the one of a millennial than a Gen X.
>>42944038I'd suspect that there was at least some pressure from Hasbro but the specific shape of the later seasons absolutely came down to Haber and the other guys running the show.
>>42944038>the new writers being idiots with no talent who lacked the experience to make up for it in other ways.Of course, it was the writer's fault . School of Friendship was their idea, the Young Six also, and it is because of them that we got retarded Celestia and Luna instead of the motherly queen god she was in Faust's era.
>>42942549You also have to remember that Hasbro royally fucked up and somehow a tv channel they own 40% of have exclusive rights to Hasbro's own fucking characters (I thought corpos were extremely strict when it comes to rights to their characters, I guess not when it shves off 1 cent from expenses). It is extremely likely that when Netflix bought ANG and funded MYM it also gained exclusive rights to G5 characters, and Hasbro can no longer use them in animation in any way, shape or form.So chances of G5 characters appearing in G6 in close to 0%.
>>42944066The same thing happen with FIM where Faust wanted to use G1 characters but Hasbro didn't had rights to them.
>>42944088Different situation, it wasn't that Hasbro couldn't use them, they just wouldn't be able to enforce copyright for them.
I hope their asses will be fatter and bigger.
>>42944114They won't even have asses, the rear half of the pony model will just be a stickpony.
>>42944088That just had to do with their trademarked names IIRC.
>>42944120joke's on you, that's my fetish
>>42944055>School of Friendship was their ideaAccording to Jim, the idea of a school was Hasbro's but I assume the friendship part was theirs. That doesn't take away the fact they could've done it much better.
>>42944343Did Hasbro demand a few seasons long arc centered around it?
>>42944066>). It is extremely likely that when Netflix bought ANG and funded MYM it also gained exclusive rights to G5 characters, and Hasbro can no longer use them in animation in any way, shape or form.>So chances of G5 characters appearing in G6 in close to 0%.You're retarded they already pitched a mix of characters in the leaks. If jewflix owned everything with g5 like you say then it would have never even been in preproduction.
What the fuck is going on with G6?
>>42944691Nobody knows!
>>42944473TYT pre-production had plenty of G4 stuff, that got all removed in the final product
>>42942530>hoofshoes Fucking....WHAT?
>>42944777Malcom, those are very clearly unshorn fetlocks.
>>42944777It's just hoofpolish, retard.
>>42944783>mfw I forgot to remove the name after making a silly post in the Anonfilly thread
>>42944804We all have zero IQ moments, you're forgiven.
>>42944744g5 preproduction concepts of g4 is because they were going ahead without knowing about the DiscoverJew and were due to it being a sequel. G6 is not a sequel and they are the owners of the characters, G4 losing rights to G1 characters is because it was an ancient dusty IP all of the g5 characters are new and not subject to losing copyright ownership.
>>42942530Idk
>>42945602Thanks for that insightful contribution.
>>42944114
>>42944120>G6 as an early internet stickman animation but with poniesK I N O
