I liked Best Night Ever, but this was the superior gala episode. Discord and Fluttershy together are super cute, Pinkie and Discord were hillarious together, The Smooze's presence and everyone's reactions to him (including Discord obviously not giving a shit) were hilarious. Celestia enjoying the chaos was awesome. Tree Hugger was cool and it was great to see Fluttershy with a friend who was like her. We got more of Fluttershy being properly assertive. Discord's awkward antics at the gala were hillarious. Maud Pie gave the greatest roast. We got to see the ponies in cute dresses. There's some fun action with the Smooze and the way Trehugger calmed him down was awesome. The character interactions are so great and natural here.Easily one of the best episodes of MLP, there's just so much to enjoy here and it nailed Discord and Fluttershy's characterizations. Funniest episode of the show imo and the 2nd best of Season 5 behind Amending Fences. It would definitely make my top 10 of the whole show. Really good episode to introduce the show to newcomers as well.

It's maybe the best season finale in the show.
