Regardless of if you agree with the quality assessments here, would you say that the eras this show splits MLP into makes sense? And how would you rank the 4 eras? I'd go McCarthy > Faust > Haber 1 > Haber 2. It's been years since I've made this chart, and I dont fully agree with it anymore. I dont think I stand by saying the later seasons had no purpose or direction; they did even if I found the execution of the storylines very flawed. However, I would still say that post season 5 the show was directionless in what to do with the mane six's development. Saying thay MLP became a walking corpse was also too harsh, since I wouldnt even call any season outright bad. My unpopular view is that since the later seasons didnt seem to know what to do with the mane 6, they should have fully committed to the new characters and gave them much more episodes than they did. I liked the student six (even though I think the Friendship School was dumb and should have just been a normal Equestria boarding school with normal teachers) and I think Seasons 8/9 should have fully focused on them rather than giving them only a few episodes without even a proper conclusion. Likewise, as someone who didnt like Starlight until the great season 6 finale that finally made her likeable for me, I'd say more development and ineraction with the other characters would have only helped Starlight and the show develop. Seasons 6-9 couldn't decide rather to be unique or more of the same, and I'd say it failed at both.
