Turning Twilight Sparkle into a no good alicorn is unjustifiably evil, it's one of the dumbest decisions in fandom history, and it objectively ruined the property forever. But maybe that's the point. Maybe they wanted to ostracize themselves from it's adult male fanbase, so they did something so dumb that real men would stop watching it regularly. Cause if that's the case, they succeeded.
