Their mods/admins are a pack of hypocritical trannies who censor things on a whim. Any image that can be found on Derpibooru can also be found on Ponerpics, Twibooru, or Ponybooru. All three of these boorus run the same software as Derpi and have the same interface. The only difference is that these sites don't censor any content apart from content unrelated to MLP and content that is actually illegal.

Fun fact: "troubadour" is usually associated with performers but in its proper usage it refers to the composers and authors of songs/plays/poems etc written during the high medieval period. Most of the time these guys were nobles or clergy and they wrote basically as a hobby, usually under pen names. Dante is an example. Writing songs or plays would have been seen as a vulgar way to make a living, particularly for someone from the aristocratic classes, so generally it was just done for personal satisfaction or entertainment, sort of like writing fanfics. To the extent that these people would have performed their own work, they would have mainly performed in high courts, again mostly for amusement of themselves and the other noblemen than as a way to make a living.

I think eventually this more or less evolved into the system of kings and whatnot having court composers and/or poets, whose primary job was to create entertainments for the nobility. It could theoretically be anyone from any class provided the king liked their work, but in practice these posts went to educated people who were trained to read, write and compose music. Basically a way for minor aristocrats or upper middle class to elevate themselves: some backwoods family of small-time knights has an autist son who isn't going to inherit anything and is useless at weapons. But he's a turboautist on the harpsichord so whatever, so just send him to Conservatory and hope the Duke of Burgundy adopts him. Mozart is a good example of this. This would have been later though, 1600s-1800s, past the medieval period people associate with "troubadours."

The traveling performers people think of when they hear "troubadour" were usually called jongleurs or minstrels. They would travel around to towns and villages and would sing, act, play instruments, do acrobatics, and so forth, usually performing heavily vulgarized and stripped-down versions of the material troubadours wrote for the nobles, or doing religious plays commissioned by the Church. These people literally had lower social status than prostitutes, it was the kind of thing you did if you had no other options. And yes, the other anon's depiction of them as pickpockets and swindlers is also fairly accurate. When peasants had extra children they couldn't afford to keep, they would often be sold to these traveling performer troupes. Actually, there's probably some potential for a green there.
