Was she poor as a kid or something and projects her bad childhood onto simple living? Is that why generosity means so much to her, because she wants to be what she didn't have as a kid?Rarity is a very interesting character and this scene touched on something very profound about her very early on. (Ponk's line about not wanting Twi to be lonely later on also alludes to how much she cares about the happiness of others, and also how much she can't bear to see others be lonely, presumably because she herself was kind of lonely as a filly on the rock farm.)
